Kodo Mount
I mean if you have a minion on board it is basically Blessing of Kings mixed with Restless Mummy. Can burst for 4 if the minion is leftover from last turn, or can be used to trade when combo’ed with a minion from this turn.
The only “bad” part about this card is you aren’t guaranteed to trade twice with this in one turn because what you put it on might live, but doesn’t that just mean you got a good value trade anyway?
5/5 sees play in any sort of midrange-y druid deck that actually runs minions. Not entirely sure it makes it into Spell Druid since you’d rather use a wider buff and go “all-in” and this does absolutely nothing without minions in play.
Thorngrowth Sentries
Just in time for token druid to lose dreamway guardians. The keyword on both of them doesn’t really matter since rarely was the lifesteal relevant and druid just wants cheap wide boards.
Hog Rancher
This card is actually not that bad. Fire Plume Phoenix and other cards similar were barely not playable in constructed.
This AT WORST is a 1 mana cheaper phoenix (with 1 less health) and at best gets to also abuse token style gameplay.
Conviction (Rank 1)
Bloodlust for Odd Paladin. They can’t clear every board and you really only need one to stick.
Vengeful Spirit
Blizzard trolling so hard right now. Obviously if this pulls 2 “okay” cards it is ridiculous, but idk. Sahet’s Pride saw play in Paladin for tutoring 2 on a significantly worse statted minion and it was slow, but the cards it pulled were great.
Interested to see it more in Wild where all the neutral deathrattle card draw ran off to to turbo through your deck for some sort of combo.
Xyrella
I assume this totals the amount of health restored so depending on the board state with something like Holy Ripple this can get really out of hand. I wouldn’t sleep on it entirely especially with other “benefitters” of healing such as Lightsteed floating around.
Sigil of Silence
Meta dependent on ripping buffs, but if anything it works as a somewhat more flexible version of Kayn for something like Soul DH. Play Sigil to “guarantee” a lethal set up because your opponent can’t play taunts like a cheater.
Rokara
I don’t think this is it chief. You are pretty much never getting a good trade on this on it’s own and Warrior isn’t known for wide boards.
Zixor rarely gets good value trades and is a 2/4.
Plaguemaw the Rotting
Kind of cracked with Greybough to dupe him, but idk how practical it will be to have a board of taunts. I am curious though how this interacts with anything that grants taunt like the 0 mana spell from Ashes of Outland.
Paralytic Poison
Really good in wild for kingsbane and spectral cutlass.
All it accomplishes in Standard is making Wandmaker not a guaranteed good card.
Guff Runetotem
I don’t know what all is considered a Nature spell so hard to judge. If spells like the 0 cost ones above 7 mana from AoO or the Eclipses all count, then it could work, but I still wouldn’t get my hopes up since it’s random buffs and having all 4 land on one treant and it getting siphon souled or whatever doesn’t feel good.
Death Speaker Blackthorn
These deathrattles better be ridiculous because if they aren’t this card is going to flop. Hooktusk cost 1 more in Rogue with more reasonable targets but gave them all rush. Hooktusk only saw fringe play, so I don’t have high hopes here.
Crossroads Watch Post
The card isn’t the BEST thing in the world but it is incredibly annoying to deal with since it also acts as a mini Never Surrender and can save your board of 3 health minions from something like Hellfire. Could see niche play similar to Ogremancer.
Also worth noting is it buffs itself so you can’t even like Fireball it to get rid of it.
Barrens Blacksmith
I mean IF you can activate it the turn you play it efficiently, it is funglemancer on steroids. The issue is not many decks that have a wide board can efficiently deal 1 damage to this.
If you can’t activate this the turn you play it then the card isn’t good because the opponent just plays around it like they do Greybough. Kill everything else first.
Yoink!
Wandmaker looks pretty cracked in Rogue post rotation to begin with (getting you only cards ran in aggro rogue ANYWAY) so if this sees play it’ll be randomly generated and still be probably “on par” with a sinister strike generated.
Nofin Can Stop Us
Still going to need more murlocs and murloc synergies printed. Yes, this “replaces” Warleader as a 3 mana “bloodlust”, but there really aren’t that many murlocs floating around in Standard to get a wide enough board to matter and and Shaman is losing Soul of the Murloc which would’ve comboed pretty nicely especially with a lot of classes losing AoE to clear the board twice.
Tame Beast (Rank 1)
Mana reduction is also only as relevant as the cards you play alongside it that turn.
If you play this on turn 6 and don’t do anything relevant with the saved mana besides like HP, this is still strictly worse than Unleash the Beast.
Honestly, it can still be compared to the 2/1 Echo dog especially in it’s rank 1 form (rarely do you ever get a value trade with 2 health).
Horde Operative
Costs cheap and is premium stats. Copying secrets is yes arguably slightly worse than destroying them, but cards like EoS were too slow and garbage stats.
In Wild Secret Mage also can’t really play around their own secrets very well since everything dies to Rune and Counterspell is pretty good.
Core Set 2022 Guide - How to Obtain It, How it Works, Full List of Cards
Priest in Wild could be interesting with the 500 ways to tutor spells from the deck now. Potentially run “8” copies of something with Shadow Visions, this new card, and Cleric of Scales.
6 is a bit expensive, but the 5 mana legendary from RR saw play so who knows. Sure, the Lynx had rush, but these are 5/5s and can get rush with a broomstick or something so I wouldn’t entirely count it out.
If anything this is arguably one of the best hits off Lock and Load if that deck actually takes off at some point.
