Wrong. Prince Malchezaar’s effect happens AFTER you mulligan. You can’t get his legendaries in your starting hand. Check it out yourself.

It doesn’t say starting deck though. It simply says deck. We know that you could put two Renos in your deck (for example, in Dungeon Run) and still their effects would activate after drawn because the duplicate is no longer in your deck. The game effectively starts after the mulligans, and the Quest is no longer in your deck, so I’m inclined to think that you can indeed play Quests with this minion. Which would be great, since you can also play the Quest in Turn 1, and you’re not only restricted to Hero Powering or coining a 2-drop in Turn 1.

My free DK Hero was Shaman. And I didn’t have dust to craft Evolve Shaman, so I couldn’t fully enjoy it. Now we get a new Shaman Hero, presumably OP, so DK Shaman may see even less play. Feels bad, man.

Dungeon Run was the best single-player experience in HS so far. I’m glad they’re keeping the format and giving it a new twist!

Just to be sure: 0 is ONLY considered “even”, right? 0 is a pesky little number in math, so better ask to be 100% sure…
Militia Commander
This is going to be strong… 4 mana 5 damage minion removal, and almost always developing an injured body on the board. Great tempo synergy with Battle Rage, too. I’d give it 4.5 stars, but since I can’t, I’m giving it 5.

Question: would Quests still be a viable play here? You ALWAYS get them in your initial hand, so your deck wouldn’t have them at the START of the game. I remember that Malchezaar added the legendaries after you mulliganed, and that was considered “start” of the game (you couldn’t get his legendaries in your initial hand precisely because of this).

Blizzard does it again and reinvents itself. When you thought everything was done already… I hope I open this guy (or the other one) in a pack and can start experimenting. 4/5 stars – can’t say if it will be good competitively, but using your brains to deck build is always welcome.

When this was revealed I only thought I would only play it consistently if a Control Warlock used the Final Seal and I knew he had Azari in his hand. That way I get to nuke his deck too. HOWEVER it would probably still be GG since the Warlock DK would bring back demons for my oponent but not for me, and the Fatigue war would still be on his side… Then I read the comments here and realised it would be interesting to fill your hand after vomiting it with Aggro à-la-Divine Favor. However, I’m not so sure how having a hand of control AOE damage could help me if I’m aggro… Looks like a meme-y legendary, but it’s difficult to predict. 3/5 stars just for the cool effect, but it’s difficult to see how it could fit anywhere effectively right now…

I’m glad to see Archthief Rafaam memes still popular to this day. I admit he also destroyed me with my OP deck on my first attempt. One of the best moments while playing Hearthstone to this day.

The Echo mechanic can be quite valuable in the end game when you have an empty hand. If you top deck this, at least you can play three minions, instead of just one and have 7 mana left. However, having Echo will have to be paid somehow, which means that as normal drops, Echo cards will be outclassed by other stuff. In this case, for example, we could have a Fierce Monkey with an extra attack in turn 3. Echo cards can also be good combo enablers in the late game if they’re cheap enough, we will see what other cards get printed out. As for this card, I’m giving it 3/5 stars. Solid, but I would be surprised if it sees a lot of constructed play. It doesn’t even have an Elemental tag…
Pumpkin Peasant
I’m not expecting to see this guy in constructed, but it won’t be a terrible choice in Arena. 2/5 stars
StarCraft Inspired Tavern Brawl (March 21st - 25th) - Receive Three Kobolds & Catacombs Packs!
Well they already took the “Heroes of Warcraft” subtitle from the game. I believe the game would have even more charm if it included stuff from all of Blizzard franchises, similar to Heroes of the Storm. One can only dream…

We want a StarCraft themed expansion already!
Blizzard's Off-Meta Spotlight Decks #3 - Fatigue Warrior, Elemental Shaman, Big Secret Hunter
The problem with these off-meta decks is that they’re never budget decks. I’d love to ladder with them, I believe the surprise factor makes them have such a huge winrate (opponents mulligan wrong expecting standard decks). However I’m missing 30% of the cards they include, and most of those are epics and legendaries. Shame.
Thanks for the info. That is a shame, since you will always have a weak turn 1 (only Hero Power or having to coin out a 2-mana card). It would have been nice to toy around with Quests too, I hope they change their mind on the subject. With Prince Malchezaar’s mechanics it would make sense to have Quests be playable here.
