Dispossessed Soul
This card costs too much. 4 4/5 “slightly better draw a card” on a condition isn’t very good. All the quest lover cards were “guaranteed” to be live and were all cheaper than this. This can just straight up be a Yeti a lot of times and that is not good at all in modern hearthstone.
Huntsman Altimor
Just play on curve perfectly every game 4Head. Hunter doesn’t have enough draw to get this card in hand consistently and it has to ROT in your hand for a long time to get all of those infuses. This card needs to be Infuse(4) to be PLAYABLE and even then it is still just an “okay” stat bomb.
Hydralodon itself with no set up is better than the Infuse (4) version of this card because he vomits more stats that consistently impact the board.
Solid Alibi
It’s just a worse version of frost nova unless it is against exactly a burn deck. Will it see play? Probably, but I don’t see this card suddenly making questline or any other burn mage THAT much better.
Relic Vault
The relics pretty much have to be AT LEAST 3 mana in value for this to be remotely playable which means they have to effectively blow Xaril Poisons or Lackeys or whatever out of the water. I say AT LEAST because if they are only 2 mana in value or whatever, you aren’t going to play a card that is 100% conditional on you drawing those cards if they aren’t worth as much or more than the initial investment of the location.
This card could be a straight up dead card on the field until you are 2/3s deep into your deck since I sincerely doubt you are getting much more than 4 “relics” (cards or generators or whatever) to go alongside this since Blizzard tends to split classes in half on themes with 5 allocated to a given archetype.
Great Hall
I mean…..it’s cute, but pretty much every paladin card played is already a 3/3 or is very quickly handbuffed to that point. The argument is that it could be used for removal, but even that just seems kind of….bad when Paladin already has the spell that turns the enemy minion into a 1/1 (and sucks the stats).
Castle Kennels
This card just seems super whatever. The beast deck that sees play is “Big Hunter” which pretty much all the Beasts CAN attack already or are a gigantic taunt which giving Rush is “cool” I guess. This is definitely a location I see without a home and even if they print a bunch of little beasts I would argue it is just too slow as you are probably passing on turn 2.
Sire Denathrius
Here’s the thing. This card has a huge identity crisis tbh. It wants to be in a deck with at least a GOOD amount of minions to get the infuse off. Those are inherently faster decks which probably don’t want to run a conditional “maybe pyroblast” that costs 10 mana and burns a literal hole in their hand.
The Lifesteal and board clear potential along with being 10 mana means, great control card. The issue is this card has to do like idk….12+ damage to be worthwhile (literally no one is playing Sneed’s which does 10 for 8 albeit with no lifesteal). What Control deck is killing 7+ of their OWN minions to Infuse this?
I don’t see this card seeing play in ANY deck which is a shame considering it is the “cover card” of the set. No wonder he died.
Stewart the Steward
If you draw this early the card is insane as until your opponent draws a silence your hero power just summons 4/4s all game. Sure, it is “slow”, but unlike a card like Lorthraxion or Greybough, this card only costs 3 and is still decent enough stats for cost that playing a 3 mana 3/3 doesn’t potentially auto lose the game compared to a 5 mana 5/5.
Buffet Biggun
4 mana 4/6 with huge upside potential. If there are other good Infuse cards this gets even better as it is 3 bodies in 1.
Sinful Sous Chef
Outside of obvious “Dude” synergies, this might just be good enough in hand buff paladin. It’s a 1 drop that fills your hand with more stuff to get buffed.
Cold Case
This skeleton stuff is probably going to go the way of Curse Warlock where it all gets buffed a month after launch. It all just costs too much and is insanely slow. This might have been closer to playable if they had taunt over you getting armor that way the deathrattle is more “relevant”.
Frozen Touch
I mean it COULD be good enough in something like Naga Mage as a “cheap” 4 mana deal 6, but I doubt it. Mage doesn’t tend to play enough minions to trigger an Infuse, let alone Infuse (3).
Elitist Snob
5 stars probably one of the best cards in the set. It is a strictly better statted Zilliax more often than not. Decks are already comprised of like 24 class cards or more so having a hand of 5 or 6 cards in general isn’t asking a whole lot and you are probably happy enough hitting just 3 buffs assuming Divine Shield isn’t the one that is left out.
Vengeful Visage
This card is just….bad. Not only is it incredibly easy to play around, but it also has a “who cares” effect to attached to it. If you are looking for burn, Explosive Runes is more likely to get more bang for your buck and it generates arguably more tempo.
Hedge Maze
Sooooo what Deathrattles are even IN druid right now? This card would be kind of playable in something like Hunter or Rogue, but even that is a bit of a stretch as this only has 2 durability for 3 mana.
Deathborne
I’m not seeing it. It’s obviously better than something like Blast Wave of the past, but this card is still absolutely horrendous without Spell Damage.
Cathedral of Atonement
The card is obviously “good”, but the problem in priest is probably sticking minions on board to care about the buff as Priest USUALLY doesn’t try to win through board.
Murloc Holmes
Spider Tank with absurd upside if you get it right so it probably sees play. It definitely sees play in Murloc decks just for being a Murloc that isn’t terrible, but even something like Control Warrior probably plays it as another card to grab off Gorloc.
Baroness Vashj
Cool effect, but probably costs too much on its own. You’d want to hit this the turn you play it so it really isn’t THAT much better than simply playing a Chain Gang (or whatever other 2 minion for 4) and evolving one into a 3/6.
I mean the card is a miracle rogue style card where with this and the location (or two) you just outright kill someone the turn you pop off if they don’t have taunt. It isn’t THAT unreasonable for this and the location to reach 10 power each with cards like loan shark and mailbox dancer in standard meaning you just need to find 10 damage “somewhere” to close out the rest.
Unless they make it so you can rustrot on your opponent’s turn, bringing up weapon removal is such a silly argument against a card like this that is meant to OTK.
