E.T.C., Band Manager
Probably auto include in any not aggro deck. Throw your “worst” board clear in it, a super value card, and probably a tech card in the pool and choose what you need for the match up. Play this on 4 into a discovered 2nd copy of Blood Boil/Brawl on 5 against aggro and you win the game. Against greed you discover Mograine instead (so now you don’t have to hard run him) or whatever.
Brass Elemental
Pile of keywords probably not good enough. If it was printed in Barrens alongside the elemental support it would’ve maybe seen play, but this is most of the time 4 mana deal 3 to a minion twice like Restless Mummy and I don’t think that is good enough.
Beatboxer
Full Blown Evil/Cinderstorm/etc. have seen play and this comes with a 4/3 on top. Even if it is only a 3 or 4 star card it will see play simply as a not terrible combo card for the weapon.
Climactic Necrotic Explosion
I’m going to say it. This card is probably unplayably bad to put in a deck. Rainbow has no access to efficient ways to spend corpses (Marrow Manipulator/Marrowgar) outside of discovering them so this isn’t getting very big or worthwhile. Triple Unholy has access to better spenders and can’t make the giant cheap consistently so I don’t see this happening.
This is definitely a pretty good discover option off Frost Strike or the Nerubian though (especially the latter if you can get it for 8).
Blazing Transmutation
Discover I feel like is a double edged sword here. Yeah, you get to “choose” the result, but it also restricts you out of other class options and Shaman minions are pretty stinky.
Calamity's Grasp
Do they not realize they printed a 1 1/2 tutor a card almost 2 years ago? Why are we just printing bad cards?
Patchwerk
So that downside of Mutanus where he loses a lot of tempo? Yeah, we didn’t like that so we removed it.
Sylvanas, the Accused
Infuse 7 is such an incredibly steep cost this card probably only sees play in Druid as a replacement for ONE Devourer. The amount of times Hunter has to play Altimor not fully infused in a deck with A LOT of tokens is way more than you’d expect.
6 mana assassinate on legs isn’t really playable when Rogue has passed up every single 5 mana assassinate on legs printed the past like 3 years. Rogue has better Vilespine in standard RIGHT NOW and doesn’t play it because it’s way too slow.
Sinful Brand
Alright deck intro time and this time were spamming sins. First we’re going to draw sinful brand and play Zai to get 4 copies. Then we are going to play a 1, 2, 3, and 5 health minion and give the 5 health minion our opponent with Silas. Then we are going to play 4 copies of Sinful Brand on the minion. Finally, we play Spammy Arcanist for the 40 damage OTK.
Now, this obviously costs a lot of mana, so we will need the help of Final Showdown and Skull of Gul’dan. Please like and subscribe and thanks so much for watching.
Wild Spirits
This is just a disgusting stat bomb isn’t it? Assuming the spell affects itself and only wildseeds currently in play (such as if you played the 2 drop last turn), even IF you low roll and hit the two slowest seeds you still get a 2/5 with taunt next turn and a gigantic weapon on turn 5.
Taking a turn 3 “do nothing turn” isn’t unheard of with how many times AI gets printed, but 2/3 of the time you are still getting a usable dark bomb the turn you play this.
Theotar, the Mad Duke
This style of effect has never been good and doesn’t even generate advantage so why on earth is this not premium stats? The card wouldn’t see play at a 3/4 either, but it being a 3/3 is insult to injury.
Such a shame considering Theotar is one of the “better” characters from Revendreth especially since it doesn’t look like we are getting Nadja or Draven.
Ashen Elemental
3 mana 2/4 deal 2 to face is unplayable bad. You’d want to play this in a face deck obviously, but in that case the opponent can’t afford to spend their turn activating something like AI anyway regardless of if this is on the board or not since they spent their turn “doing nothing” against a deck looking to kill them in 2-3 turns.
Magnifying Glaive
Oh noooo my aggro deck can’t run high cost cards. I bet you think Divine Favor was also a bad card for this reason don’t you?
Sketchy Stranger
Balance aside this is a card that just straight up should never have been printed. If it’s good you have to play around every secret imaginable and just feel like you got sacked when the aggro deck pulls counterspell or whatever.
The Stonewright
I mean a permanent savage roar for totems is “cool” and all, but what totem synergy is there in Standard? If we had Totem Goliath an Splitting Axe, MAYBE I could see it, but even that still requires you hard drawing this card for your deck to be playable.
Pelagos
You just play this in Naga Priest and spread your wigs around for absurd amounts of value from a 3 cost. On himself wig is a 1 mana +7/+2 buff where you have just as insane outcomes with cards like treasure guard or even Okani (8/8 okani is insane).
Also as others have stated, Shadow Word: Devour on this is probably just game ending.
Boon of the Ascended
Blizzard really trying its best to justify Humongous Razorleaf being in the core set after a year and a half.
Impossible to tell how good this is without knowledge of core set and the strength of overheal. If Cleric sticks around this probably sees play in decks as a “0 mana” enabler.
I’m not sure if it is a good or bad thing this doesn’t hit opponent’s board/face. Obviously healing the opponent is “bad”, but for Cleric+Pyro or the now rotating Xyrella having more targets was better.
