Big Ol' Whelp
I like it. For once we have something better then Gnomish Inventor. So much so, that this is a clear answer for a lot of decks that want to recycle, including Aggro Decks, to use this card. You can just as easily compare this with Azure Drake since many of the classes did now care about the Spell Damage, more so then they cared for the Card Draw being a fitting touch for a Recycle, before being Banned from the classic Packs. So with that mind said, will Big Ol’ Whelp continue to do Azure Drakes job? Probably. Which is why I’m giving it 5 Stars.
Utgarde Grapplesniper
Eeeeeehh… it’s kinda pushing it right now, For now, I would encourage you guys to not play this just yet, until you know who plays what. And Especially for the later Expansions. I would be surprised as much as we would have to evolve around Garrplensiper, just because we have to also think ahead, and if they are going to print more powerful dragons or not. And If so, will continue to experience their feelings with Garrplesniper.
P.S. You can try to play dirty, and burn an opponent’s hand if it’s too full. Even if it’s a dragon.
I would honestly have to say that in the long-run because Most Classes are going to play around the Key Dragons (Usually those with Battlecries) is the reason why I’m going to give it 4 stars. I thought about it for a while, and It would make sense. Look at Mage for example, and how many Battlecry Dragons she has now. Surely you could try and disturb her plannings.
Evasive Feywing
At last boys. Faerie Dragon grows up and now takes wing as a Tempo-y Midrange Dragon. Faerie Dragon was already a pretty solid Minion and as a Dragon, and I’d say that Evasive Feywing is pretty much the same story. It’s actually kinda nice to see such an old card onto hearthstone to then be reborn anew and have a new balanced Mana Cost along with its Stats. 4 Stars.
Dragonmaw Poacher
Hey. Someone had to be a Dragonslayer. And Dragonmaw Poacher was one of them. 4 Stars however just because not everyone is going to be playing Dragons, and everything is going to vary. If there was a tool card to cheat out a way to give an Opponent a 1/1 whelp or something, then yeah. But this is more or less likely an Answer against any strong dragon that isn’t a Legendary. And I’m not looking at Brightwing.
Murozond the Infinite
This is actually a nice card. I can see this being used for whenever your opponent is doing anything huge, such as playing a Big minion or doing a Combo. So Rouges and Mages hate this card, whilst other control decks also hate this card. It’s a refreshing answer for priest. Good Job, Priest. 4 Stars.
Dark Skies
Yeeaah, not gonna lie. at least Spreading Madness tried to get the shots, and it was at the same cost as well. The only way I can see this being beneficial is if it’s more like a 1 copy only and you pretty much have a full hand. That way It can try and mimic Volcano. It’s a niche tech card that only certain warlocks could actually make this work, but I might be going a bit too harsh on this; It’s getting 2 stars.
Blowtorch Saboteur
I mean, It’s kinda nice I guess. I feel like already maybe of people are comparing this with the normal classes of Hearthstone and thinking about how beneficial can it be. Sure you may hit down a few good ones here and there such as Mage & Warlock for example, but I also just as much see someone like Rogue or Druid now caring as much.
Okay, fine, let’s try this up against the Galakronds (Mind I’m trying the best I can to make them all Control to give it fair play):
Shaman is ??? because we don’t know Shaman yet.
Priest more or less likely won’t matter unless he didn’t have an answer, in which he’d worry about the hero power more.
Rouge does matter quite a bit because they believe that their mana is more valuable, especially when they want to pull off combos. But Usually do combos come in Cheap mana, so its defeat its purpose. The only way I can see this being effective against wrong is probably when they need want to make a VanCleef Body.
Warlock could almost care less about it since he usually wouldn’t care about it that much unless he’s on about that zoo or demon synergy.
And the only one that could care about this is Warrior. Having to pay 3 Mana for almost a heroic strike is somewhat noticeable.
But maybe I’m still not seeing the big picture of how Strong Blowtorch is. For me, I have to give it 2 Stars. I just don’t see how beneficial it can be. Maybe if it was costing 2 more, then of course. But 1 more is almost as if most of the Hearthstone classes, (Including the Heroic Cards) can just shrug it off in my opinion.
Treenforcements
Instant 4 Stars. It’s like Living Roots, but more defensive. But Living Roots would still book in my opinion.
Goru the Mightree
I mean a 3/3 Treant is TREEmendous and all but eeeh, I don’t know about this one, chlief. I mean, we could Experiment with Goru, but let’s just say it’s not my cup-of-tea card. I’m going to give this 3 Stars.
Wyrmrest Purifier
I wouldn’t exactly scold this card away. This is actually a pretty good answer for when you have to deal with Bad Luck Albatross’ Deathrattle, but you DO have to pay the price against losing potential for your Natural Minions, and players are right not scolding this card, because they imagine some of their strongest neutral minions such as Zilliax, and Siamat, and even Dragonqueen Alexstrasza, only to be shafted by Wyrmerst Purifier to their them all into terrible cards. Or the fact that they know they don’t like the pressure of using Wyrmrest just yet because their Legendary Minions are too important for them right now and therefore they can use her yet. Nevertheless, in the right hands of HOW to use Wyrmrest (Which is pretty much just trying to cheat your way to using this card without sacrificing so much), I can see this card being used, but as I said, you’re going to using this if you’re up against something like Albatross. I’m going to give this 4 Stars, just because I think we finally have enough tools for at least many of the Classes of Hearthstone, and they don’t mind playing Natural minions, but it is going to suck they are missing out on something like Ziliax and Siamat.
Embiggen
So basically put, ALL of your minions in your deck will have Enchanted Raven’s Body (a 1 Mana 2/2), but will also cost at Enchanted Raven’s body too, with just 1 more mana. I’d say it’s pretty worth it. Especially for something like your Oasis or your Stags. Maybe you want to have 1 copy of this, however, since you can go like priest tried to buff everything but instead backfired with his Surrender to Madness. Comparing it with Embiggen, It’s deferentially a whole lot healthier for Druid to play, and Especially for when Druid still has their Corridor Creeper; their Anubisath Defender, to still costing 0 Mana if you cast a spell that’s 5 or more mana. I would honestly say that if you don’t really wanna play a Malygod OTK Druid deck, I think a lot of druids will not like the idea of spending more mana at first, but for the price of how big their minions are will be worth it to them, especially for when your facing against Control yourself, and you know that they have some big minions. So for my eyes, I’m going to rate this 5 stars.
Cobalt Spellkin
Oh yeah… would you look at that. How could I forget Secret Paladin actually being a deck now? Your right!
Platebreaker
Finally, we have a card that upsets armor. now mind you that it’s not just an Anti-Warrior Card because it can also be used just to get rid of Galakrond’s Armor as well. Or what Druid used to be back then which was pretty scary. I believe Mage also had a ton of armour too back then as well, and we know that there will be others that will try to cheat their way for gaining armour, such as Lifesteal Paladin for example. Essentially a good card as of right now, but I wouldn’t throw it away as soon as the next expansion starts, because you can almost guarantee that somewhere out there, and other than warrior, one of these days there’s going to be yet another class that found a way to get a whole much of armour, and we will be calling upon uhh… This Guy. Honestly, I would rate it 4 stars in my personal opinion because I just want a minion that gets the job done, so I would like it to have lower mana but lower stats, but a 5 Mana 5/5 Body that deals somewhere around 5 to even 20+ Armor is still pretty amazing. And now that I said it out loud, a 5 Mana 5/5 that “Deals 5 Damage” is probably 5 stars.
EVIL Quartermaster
We know that Lackeys play an important role, so I think this fits nicely for Warrior. They tried whatever they could get their hands on for searching for Lackeys, and I now even believe that other than Rouge because of their EVIL Mischief, Warrior has the most cards to try and generate Lackeys, too. Now I could be wrong and probably all the other EVIL Classes will try and get a lackey, but even if that’s the case, this is still a pretty solid minion to have. I’m starting to see a pattern nowadays where a 3 mana 2/3 is like just the right utility 3 mana card, where they lose -1/-1 in stats (since our now vanilla stats are 3 Mana 3/4), but they have a powerful Battlecry to give you. So yeah, I would rate this 5 Stars. I think Quartermaster plays a role almost any Warrior deck out there and still gets the job done, inescapably since it gives you free armour.
Cobalt Spellkin
Oh hey, cool! Gadgetzen Auctioneer made a friend!
Now that that’s out of the way, Cobalt Spellkin also an Interesting take for Rouge especially since not only for the sake of VanCleef but because they have a chance to get Togwaggle Scheme or Praise Galakrond! Now, there are going to be those that will sleep on this, while others such as mage will consider taking it. I would say that as long as you have sort of plan like my Gadgetzen idea, I think you can go pretty far with it. The Stats aren’t exactly perfect for 5 mana, but the Battlecry is pretty strong, especially for something like Shaman, since they have a chance to get some of the strongest 1 mana spells out there such as Lightning Bolt, and Earth Shock. It may do well in battle, but the Battlecry deferentially gets the job done for you. 4 Stars.
Bronze Explorer
Instant 5 Stars. This acts lie a better Stonehill Defender in my opinion.
This is a Favouritism Dragon of Mine, giving both Divine Shield and Eluvise, but to also have Rush as well. Even at 6 Mana, is not all that terrible, assuming that you can imagine this as a 5 mana 5/3 Elusive, that “Deals 5 Damage to an Opponent Minion”. 5 Stars.
