Swinetusk Shank
Well, self sharpening sword starts out with 4 durability while this starts out with 2 durability, so you’d need to drop two full poisons onto swinetusk for it to match self sharpening sword in durability.
Swinetusk Shank
Decentttt weapon, I guess? The question is why in the world would you play this over self-sharpening sword, which can pump out 10 damage total on its own, while this can only pump out 4 damage.
In addition, despite the poison synergy swinetusk has, self-sharpening sword actually has even better synergy with weapon buffs.
If you played a Deadly Poison on swinetusk, it’d turn into a 4/3 that could pump out 12 damage total. But if you played deadly poison on self-sharpening sword, it’d turn into a 3/4 that increments in damage, pumping out 18 damage in total.
So honestly, if they don’t nerf self-sharpening sword this card will never see play.
Death Speaker Blackthorn
Dammit Blizzard… Why demon hunter, out of all the classes lol. From what I remember the ONLY deathrattle we have in DH that costs less than 5 is renowned performer(who turned out not to be as renowned as she made herself out to be).
Whatever 4-5 drop deathrattle(s?) DH gets this expansion BETTER be good. AND consistent.

Ehhh… Honestly I don’t think this card isn’t as cracked out as everyone seems to think it is.
It’s a conditional board clear for Priest, a class that has traditionally specialized in board clears anyways. It’s tied to a body, but I don’t think Priest cares all that much about it.
Whether it sees play or not will entirely depend on how many new(and better) board clears Priest gets this upcoming expansion.

This card is REALLY interesting and I really hope to see it played in the upcoming meta, but sadly I think it’s a bit too niche to realistically see play.
This would be a BEAST against aggro. For example, all the 2/2s that come out of the watch tower are gonna completely shut down a Zoolock that doesn’t have a removal spell in their hand. For every small to medium sized minion they summon, you can just trade a guard into them and completely deny them the board, all with this one card. This will go on for however long it takes before they kill off this 3/5 with their minions(and trading them off in the process, since 3 damage ain’t nothing to scoff at).
But against control or midrange, which generally play bigger and fewer minions, not only will the 2/2 bodies be irrelevant but you won’t get as many of them.
So realistically, if you’re running this in your deck you’re either gonna completely destroy some poor aggro player or have a dead card in your hand against some control player. Sadly, I feel like people would rather play something more consistent over this.
Kargal Battlescar
Hm, this watch tower archetype is really interesting. But I think we’d need more support than the 1 decent watch tower, 1 bad watch tower and this legendary minion to fuel that archetype.
Crossroads Watch Post
1/5 for sure. This card’s text might as well read “your opponent has -1 spell damage”. Which is extremely niche to say the least.
You’re paying 4 mana to make your opponent have 1 less spell damage. Really? Hell no!
Conviction (Rank 1)
I mean… it’s alright, I guess. Playing this on T5 is fairly decent. I think this has the chance to make it into a couple of aggro decks at the least.
But the fact that turn 5 is sorta late for such a low cost, low power card like this makes this card also feel kinda underwhelming. We’ll see about this one.
Barrens Blacksmith
I was thinking this would fit more into warrior, some kind of midrange warrior running self-damage spells like inner rage as well as broomstick to increase the consistency of this card.
Barrens Blacksmith
That’s true, but Greybough’s deathrattle transferring effect only happens after Greybough is DEAD, so you’d need to chip 6 health off Greybough before you can transfer the deathrattle.
In contrast, this frenzy effect requires you to simply damage the minion, so even 1 damage to this minion would make the cut.
You can potentially run this in a tempo deck in conjunction with broomstick so it can immediately take damage and buff your other minions. Preferably warrior probably, because warrior is proficient at self-damage effects.
Reckless Apprentice
Yeah, that’s exactly the issue I see with this card.
Plus it’ll only contribute efficiently to the 10 mana mage guy if your opponent has a wide board of minions so that you can deal 1 damage to each of them. If your opponent doesn’t, though, this might just add like 2-3 hero power damage, which I’d say is pretty lackluster.
Reckless Apprentice
Not really, it’s pretty much an arcane blast attached to a 3/5 body for 4 mana that also happens to go face. And that arcane blast effect is basically wasted if your opponent doesn’t have a wide board, or has chunky enough minions to survive that tiny 1 damage ping.
This card might have its moments, and also handily contributes to the 10 mana finisher guy, but other than that its effect isn’t THAT powerful. But it’ll find a place in a good amount of mage decks, so Imma have to give it a 4/5.
Razorfen Beastmaster
The flavor on this card is hella mismatched. What the heck is a “beastmaster” doing in demon hunter lmao.
Plus, what relation does this card’s effect have to beasts? It has no beast synergy whatsoever.
Razorfen Beastmaster
I mean it’s pretty meh in Hunter as well. You basically get a delayed version of a deathrattle with this one – you play this guy, wait for this guy to die so you can summon another guy from your hand, and then you wait for the guy you summoned from your hand to die AS WELL before you finally pop out your deathrattle.
And the only major deathrattle minions from Hunter cost 3 mana, like bloated python and zixor. So why not just downright pay that 3 mana to play one of those, instead of delaying your already delayed deathrattle? Is the 3/3 body really worth the wait? Not really, in my opinion.
On top of that you’re losing resources by pulling stuff out your hand.
Razorfen Beastmaster
I mean pulling out a renowned performer isn’t the worst thing in the world.
Imagine your opponent lets this survive for a turn, so you trade into some enemy minion with 3 damage, pull out a performer out your hand for free, trade that as well for another 3 damage and finally summon 2 1/1 taunts for the deathrattle.
So essentially you would have dealt 3 damage to two enemy minions and summoned 2 1/1 taunts all for 3 mana. Not too bad, I guess. And even though it pulls something out of your hand and deprives you of some resources, demon hunter is one of the best card draw classes anyways so that might not be such a big downside.
But yeah, overall I agree, this card doesn’t look too promising. Imma put it at a 2/5 just to be safe.
Mor'shan Elite
Yeah I agree. Paying 5 mana for 2 4/4s isn’t exactly the most exciting stuff now, especially after Mage got pretty much the same thing last expansion with the 4/4 conjurer minion, but it cost 4 instead of 5.
But it might go beyond just pairing well with sword eater – both this card and sword eater have taunt, so we might see some taunt synergy again for warrior. But I still got my doubts for this card, so probably a 2-3/5 for me.
Primordial Protector
I think you guys should remember that Animated Broomstick is still a thing, and completely solves the issue of “not having an immediate board impact”.
Play this on turn 9 together with a broomstick and you get a 6/6 plus some other heavy 8/8ish minion on average, and you’d get to rush a full 14 damage into your enemy’s minions.
I doubt this card will be an auto-include(I still feel like some classes can do even nastier stuff with 9 mana than playing this and broomstick) but it’ll DEFINITELY find a place somewhere in the meta. So, 4-4.5/5 for me.
Cannonmaster Smythe
That’s true. But even with the potential new secrets Blizzard’s giving paladin, paladin’s still losing all the secret synergies from the past expansions. We’ll just have to wait and see I guess.
Also Inconspicuous Rider seems kinda meh for secret paladin, because you get a weak little 2/2 body plus a paladin secret worth 1 mana. That feels a bit too… average to see play, since you’re paying 3 mana for 3 mana’s worth of stuff.
Why for Dude Paladin? It doesn’t give +1/+1 to tokens. It only gives buffs to minions that exist as cards.
