A board of 3/4s isn’t overwhelming, but also nothing to scoff at either.
Sacrificial Summoner
Pulling out a 3/3 plus popping an egg and getting a 4/4 isn’t bad at all. You’d have a 3/3, 3/3 and 4/4 on turn 3. Not that bad.
Caria Felsoul
Mehh. I mean a 6/6 Illidari Inquisitor or Taintheart Tormenter or Void Hound isn’t bad, but like it’s not super great either. It’s only good when you high roll a Pit Commander.
Bloodseeker
There’s only really Headhunter’s Hatchet right now which is okay but predicated on the condition that you draw wolpertinger turn 1.
And if you manage to kill a 2 health minion you get a 3/2 weapon now. So basically your weapon kills a 2-health minion, and then deals a further 6 damage(more if you kill more minions but that’s unrealistic).
The main issue I see for this weapon is the honorable kill part. We’ll just have to see how many viable 2-health minions there are this expansion.
Wing Commander Ichman
This not only costs 9 mana but relies on the conditional that your opponent has a decent sized board of minions to trade into.
And given that this is a 9 mana card, you must be playing a control deck. In which case, assuming this pops off you will be seriously thinning out your deck.
I do wonder if this would be fine summoning just one big beast from your deck. If you play this into King Krush, you’re basically paying 1 extra mana to summon a 5/4 body? Ehhhhhh….
Also in the case that a big beast hunter takes off… Guardian Animals is still a Hunter card, yeah?
Templar Captain
Vanndar only discounts the cards in your deck though.
For this card to be insane in a Vanndar deck you’d have to play Vanndar on turn 4, and IMMEDIATELY topdeck templar captain. Not the best chances of happening.
Ram Tamer
Mehhh… This will probably see some play in face hunter, but asides from that idk. A 5/4 stealth on turn 3 is alright I guess, but does it really make up for the tempo loss of playing a secret on turn 2? I’m not so sure.
I think this might just end up being a deck filler, the first card you’d want to cut out of your face hunter deck.
Ram Tamer
It’s not really too easy to trigger the secrets lol. Snake trap and the secret that summons an animal companion exist.
But overall playing a 2 mana secret on turn 2 is just too low tempo, and making up for it on turn 3 with a 6/6 isn’t powerful enough.
Ivus, the Forest Lord
Hmmm… Nahhh.
So for 3 mana you could get a divine shield taunt 1/1. Aka a righteous protector. Why not just spend 2 mana less and run righteous protector in your deck? Lol.
If you think that’s just a low-roll, then the high-roll for 3 mana would be a 3 mana 5/5. Aka King Mukla. Why not just run King Mukla in your deck then, so you don’t have to deal with this card’s inconsistency?
At 7 mana’s where this card approaches playable – a 7 mana 7/7 divine shield, taunt, and rush. But then why not just run Varian instead for just 1 more mana and the extra card draw?
Snowed In
Hmm… Execute tied to a Frost Nova. This is interesting. And warrior already has a decent amount of damaging tools, like sword and board or man the cannons.
Only issue is control warrior needs a viable way to compete with the value and tempo generated by pirate warrior, which is essentially an aggro deck-turned control deck late game.
But I have high hopes for this one, this’ll definitely see play sometime in the future at least. 4/5.
Abominable Lieutenant
Damn, I really like the design of this card. This is basically an 8 mana Runaway Blackwing. In the right meta, this card could be insane. If this manages to eat a sizeable enemy minion every turn, this will basically grow infinitely and carry the game on its own.
I’m really biased towards this card, so I’ll call it a 3/5. 8 mana is sadly a pretty late time to play essentially a deadly shot tied to a minion with no other effect, and you might just end up sniping some random silver hand recruits.
Vanndar Stormpike
Good point. Though cutting Park Panther will somewhat hurt your survivability in the early game.
Drek'Thar
This card’s effect is decent but not incredibly overwhelming imo. I doubt you’d run a bunch of 3-cost minions just to build your deck around this guy.
That said, this probably slots in nicely with about half of aggro decks, to which there’s no point in not including this card. 4/5
Meh. Theoretically you could pop off with this and fill your hand with a bunch of really cheap minions, but this doesn’t guarantee that the minions from other classes will be cheap.
