Theo's (Zetalot) #20 Legend Mind Blast Priest (April 2018)
I did not have two dragonfire potions and it doesn’t make sense to craft them anymore. So far I did not really miss the second one, I replaced it with Spirit Lash (http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/cards/spirit-lash/) which was especially helpful against Dude Paladin.
Btw, does anybody happen to know how to link cards in comments?
Forest Guide
I always hated jade and that it does not resemble a druid at all. So I am currently thinking about where druid will go and I am super happy that annoying mechanic is a thing of the past in standard.
So when I saw this, I also wondered what that is supposed to be for. However, think about this, I haven’t tried it but I am going to craft a deck like that on day one just to see if I can make it work:
Druid was always pretty much able to survive the whole game with jade. It could just refill the deck for them.
At the same time, there is a lot of taunt going on. So my theory is that we could see synergy between ixlid and astral tiger, using all the taunt minions to stay alive. To gain mana for this plan, the druid weapon could finally see some more play. Taunt is used to stay alive and oakenheart can pull hadronox for that extra bit of protection. Hadronox happens to be a beast, so the new card that lets druid resurrect a beast is likely to offer or can even be abused to guarantee a revival of hadronox. So, after enduring until fatigue is reached with all the taunt, you drop this guy right here and your astral tiger. Double fatigue damage while you only draw your tigers over and over.
There are already some more synergies I see to make this work but I am really interested if anyone else thinks this could be viable.
Like the idea but can confirm a few things said above. I would do the following after a few plays:
-1 UI
+Ixlid
-1 Ooze
+ gluttonous ooze (the 5 mana ooze)
-2 Wild growth (have never needed it even when I could play it honestly)
+ ???
Technically one could include Keleseth then, since there are no 2 drops, but I don’t know about that.
I think +2 branching paths could do the trick here, even though there are no 2 drops at all in there then.
Another alternative could be 2 witchwood apples so you have a few treants against faster decks.
-1 Cube
+ Lich King OR the new druid legendary that lets you pick up a 10 mana 10/10 copy of a minion.
And last but not least I could imagine that the Druid of the claw is not really a game changer, as I have never encountered any situation in which he saved the day; I could be wrong here, but maybe Dollmaster Dorian would add a little more value. However, together with him I imagine that it would make sense to include more card draw, for example by replacing the wild growth with the forest guide instead. If the game goes to fatigue, that is also a good portion of damage, as you will keep drawing your tigers and the opponent will take more damage.
This is all theoretical and just addresses a few of the things I found but maybe one of you more seasoned players can give me some feedback about these changes? I am going to try them, of course, but this is my first rotation as a player and I am struggling a little with finding my way back into the game right now, so I can’t really play well anyway at the moment…
