Rise of Shadows Hearthstone Expansion Guide! Release Date, Card Spoilers, Pre-Purchase Info, New Mechanics And More!
Every card will be released in the state in which it is showcased – we never had any cards changed after they were revealed. Maybe, MAYBE it might happen in some extreme cases, but I doubt it – if anything, problematic card might be changed a few weeks after the expansion’s release.
You can learn more about Standard rotation with our Ultimate Guide! Check it out here: https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/guides/hearthstone-standard-rotation-schedule-guide/
And thank you, I guess – it’s nice to hear that you got much more info from our site than from the official one π
Dragon Speaker
I don’t think that synergies are pushed because “someone specifically asks for them”, but more people than you might think have asked for Dragon Paladin. Because we had Dragon Pally cards dripped one by one every few expansions instead of just pushing the archetype, it was a rather common request, especially back in the day.
Dragon Speaker
Actually, Paladin was one of the original two Dragon synergy classes from Blackrock Mountain (alongside Priest) and one of the three Dragon synergy classes in general. Dragon Consort was a really strong card and it has seen a decent amount of play (not as much as it would see in let’s say . Later the class also got Nightbane Templar in Karazhan, but that one wasn’t as good (the pay-off was just too small).
I always felt that there should be a third “Dragon class” (first undoubtedly being Priest, and second being Warrior) and I was wondering why they didn’t push Dragon Paladin harder. I guess they’re doing it now, and I don’t mind it at all.
Unleash the Beast
Just so you know, I strongly suspect that pity timer was always there (or at least it was there much earlier than it was discovered). It was “proven” to exist in late 2015/early 2016, but based on the data from a few months before, so around the time of The Grand Tournament launch. And I remember players suspecting something similar even much earlier – around GvG/BRM. So it was 100% there in the mid 2015, but I do think that it was there ever since the launch.
We had some much earlier data which analyzed thousands of pack openings, but it was focused on something completely different – on the rarity distribution. And given that the rarity distribution proven by those early studies (e.g. from 2014) still holds (with the exception of getting a guaranteed Legendary in the first 10 packs), I think that Pity Timer was also there. People who organized the studies just didn’t know that something like Pity Timer might be there (and it’s hard to prove something that you aren’t even looking for), so they took data from anyone, including people who opened less than 40 packs at the same time (meaning that the data can’t really be used to prove or disprove pity timer existence).
From my anecdotal experience, me or my friends (and I had a lot of friends playing HS when it was still fresh, unlike now :s) never remembered going on a huge streak without opening a Legendary. I do remember hearing stories of people who went on 50+ pack streaks without getting a single Legendary, but it often turned out that the packs were from different expansions (and pity timer only works separately for each expansion).
Never Surrender!
I made a mistake when recreating a cards (it was originally in Spanish so I had to translate it), it’s fixed now.

Decks You Can Try Before Year of the Dragon Standard Rotation - Part 2 (Odd & Even)
I was really thinking about doing one for off-meta decks, but the problem is that players are much less likely to have cards for those and they won’t craft them just before the rotation. Plus our schedule was really, really busy anyway. But I might do one next time!

Cora is pretty a popular caster/host – you might have not seen her, but you’ve probably heard her voice if you’re watching tournaments, because she’s been commentating a lot of them. And Chris is Hearthstone’s Community Manager π
Madame Lazul
itβs the only hero to have a minion card
Medivh, Prince Arthas (=The Lich King, but those two are not EXACTLY the same).
I bet we will have more of them too. Characters like Maiev, Tyrande or Khadgar will probably come out sooner or later as the cards.

Yes, they do have to be in your collection at the time rotation hits (so on April 9th) to get the refund.
Decks You Can Try Before Year of the Dragon Standard Rotation - Part 2 (Odd & Even)
I THINK that Odd Druid was played early in Rastakhan’s Rumble, but it disappeared completely for a good reason. Still, if you want to play it, check out this early Rastakhan build from Kibler: https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/brian-kiblers-rastakhan-odd-druid-ft-gonk-the-raptor/
As for the Odd Priest… I actually have never seen an Odd Priest deck. And that tells a lot. After googling it, it seems that Disguised Toast has tested it recently using the new deck builder tool. You can check out his video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgJBUyxbpdk But the thing is, he was struggling with it at Rank 10… which doesn’t look good.

I agree, I will also miss some of them. Mainly Odd Mage (slower version), Even Warlock and Odd Warrior. Those three were my favorite Odd/Even decks. But the change is healthy for the Standard, so I will get over them quickly. It will open so many possibilities. At this point I don’t even care that much about the new expansion – rotation alone will change THAT much.

I’m not 100% sure, but I think that Golden Baku/Genn do make your Hero Power Golden too.
Rise of Shadows Card Reveal Schedule
Because there’s just one card on March 21st (today) and then a longer break until Monday’s reveal stream. Reveal season is usually the period when multiple cards are dropped every day. It starts with a stream showcasing a bunch of cards and then – again – ends with a stream showing the rest of the set.
But it’s just a matter of how you want to call it, to be honest. You could theoretically call the entire period since the first announcement a “reveal season”, but the definition above is most common.
War Master Voone was not changed after the reveal (which was my point), they just showcased a wrong (outdated) version. The card was changed when it was still in development. They immediately pushed out the right version on Twitter, and made an explanation post right after. My guess is that Wronchi animations (during one of which he was revealed) took quite a lot of time to create, so they were ready a long time before reveal season, and they just forgot to update that part. So I’d say that my point still stands.
