Hearthstone Patch 31.0.3 Teaser - Standard, Wild & Battlegrounds Balance Update
I said that the card is not problematic BY ITSELF. Holy Wrath Combo was problematic, of course. But it’s getting nerfed in the same patch. That was their plan from the beginning, Ceaseless ban wasn’t meant to be permanent.
Order in the Court, a vital combo piece in that deck, is also getting nerfed in this patch. While it isn’t confirmed yet, the “nerf” will most likely be a revert to the old version that not only re-ordered your deck, but also drew the highest cost card. So when you play it you will just draw Ceaseless, you will no longer be able to set up the 100 damage combo this way.

Why? It was always the plan, nerf Holy Wrath Paladin, and unban Ceaseless Expanse after that. The card is not problematic by itself.
What Does Year 2025 Look Like for Hearthstone Based on the Warcraft Direct?
I think it all depends on how close the new modes will be to the already existing Arena.
If Underground Arena is going to be almost the same as the old one, just with the new re-drafting and official MMR, that’s not really “taking away” a mode. It’s just adding some features to an already existing one.
Arena is not the most popular game mode, so splitting the playerbase between 3 modes vs 2 modes might not make much sense. They probably hope to attract new players with a more casual “normal Arena” to offset the split into 2 modes, but 3 might be too much.
All of that said, I think we should wait to see more info about those modes first.
The Best Decks from The Great Dark Beyond, Early Meta Builds From Pros & Streamers, Decks For All Classes
To add an update, the current plan is to fix it next week, and it SHOULD finally make all deck codes work properly with Zilliax.
Drops Will Be Active During The Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct
If you’re asking about TikTok then I can’t say that I’m an expert. The only interaction I have with the app is when my wife shows me funny videos.
The post doesn’t really explain it very clearly, but from what I understood, you don’t need to link your account or confirm anything. You just need to open their stream when it’s live and there will be a progress bar at the bottom. Once it fills you will receive a code that you can redeem on Battle.net.
But again, that’s what I got by reading the post, I sadly don’t know for sure.
Drops Will Be Active During The Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct
Back when they were doing simultaneous drops on Twitch and YT, you couldn’t get both. But things might be different now, I haven’t tested it in years.
I have no idea about TikTok, it seems to work differently (you don’t link your account but rather get a code). So maybe?
In other words, I have no idea.
The Ceaseless Expanse Has Been Banned in Wild Format
Yeah, the deck had a lot of counters, but it warped the meta completely – you had to play Holy Wrath Paladin or one of the decks that counters it. It heavily limited the number of viable decks. That’s not a very fun experience so I’m glad they’re dealing with it.
It’s going to be tough to nerf Holy Wrath without completely killing the deck. Your idea that it can only target minions kills the deck (that version wouldn’t see any play even at 3 mana, maybe at 2, haha).
“Buffing” Order in the Court so it draws again is also tough but at least you can still deal 20/25 with Molten Giant. Or you can combo Ceaseless with Lorekeeper Polkelt but that’s 2 more mana, and 2 mana is A LOT (+he’s a Legendary so you have only a single copy).
Maybe Holy Wrath only drawing Paladin cards, that would make it so you can hit them for 25 with Shirvallah but it wouldn’t work with Ceaseless (however then it also wouldn’t work with Giants).
Before Ceaseless it was mostly used in Reno Paladin as an alternative win condition and it wasn’t really problematic, so killing Holy Wrath because of Ceaseless feels pretty bad.
Tavern Brawl - The Great Dark Beyond Pre-Release Brawl - 6 Wins Decks!
That’s a very good question, but I don’t think so. If you don’t finish your Heroic Tavern Brawl run, you just get rewards for the number of wins you got, no refunds of any kind. I think it’s going to be the same here. But you can test it out ๐
What Decks Will Be Playable in The Great Dark Beyond Pre-Release Brawl?
The Brawl is inherently unfair because of collection differences that can’t be mended with crafting, that’s an undeniable truth. For example, if Libram Paladin turns out to be the best meta deck, people who managed to open 2x Libram of Divinity (Epics) and even more so Yrel (Legendary) will be at a big advantage compared to other players.
However, that’s also a part I kind of like about it. It means that people will have to use resources available to them in the best way. Utilize cards they open as much as they can without being able to purely netdeck the strongest builds (unless, again, they get really lucky with what they open).
It reminds me of the MTG games – we never had full meta decks, we just played what we could build with the cards we had. Yes, there was nothing on the line back then, but I think that the stakes are low enough this time that it might be fun to get a few runs in even if I don’t come out ahead. Doubly so with one free run and free Tavern Tickets from the event. I would never recommend it if the entry cost was as high as with the Heroic Brawl.
Shop Update: New & Returning Constructed Hero Skins
Agreed, the OG Elise is still one of my favorite Druid skins after all those years.
Maybe this is the tactic they should employ instead of Heroic Tavern Brawls – releasing good skins for Gold ๐
Hearthstone Progression Update - Weekly Quest Revert, Improved Rewards Track, Tavern Brawl Card Packs
I agree about the 10th Anniversary stuff. I think they fumbled it pretty hard. I know it’s subjective, but I don’t think that Whizbang’s Workshop was a great tribute. And the year should be packed with fun events and NEW things. But so far they’ve mostly been taking things away and making them worse this year.
An online game surviving for 10 years and still doing pretty well after all this time is a great result and it should be an amazing reason for the whole community to celebrate. But if we don’t count the reopening of Chinese servers, I bet that the game lost A LOT of players this year.
All Signature Cards from Hearthstone's The Great Dark Beyond Expansion
Starships will be of the highest “rarity” among the Starship Pieces you’ve used to build them.
So if even a single Starship Piece will be Golden, the Starship also will be Golden. Same thing for Signature.
The Great Dark Beyond Expansion Card Reveal Schedule
I’m not even looking at them, I will just cover reveals as they would normally happen. The situation really sucks for everyone involved.
New Expansion Teaser, Cosmic Theme (?), Full Reveal Tomorrow (October 10)
Yeah, that whole message looks rather sketchy.
For some reason, my brain interpreted it as 10 AM PT.
But then it doesn’t make sense because it wouldn’t give you the day.
I hope that the expansion has more QA than this teaser ๐
Sonya Rogue - #10 Legend (Obivankenobi) - Perils in Paradise
The first sort of win con is 2x Everything Must Go (you can guarantee drawing both copies with Robocaller when he’s still at default 8-8-8). 4x 4-drop plus some other stuff you played that turn can be enough to overwhelm your opponent in some matchups. But that’s usually more of a stopgap.
Against Aggro you can also win with Zilliax shenanigans. The math can be a bit difficult but it’s possible to summon multiple copies of 4/5 with Divine Shield, Rush and Lifesteal in a single turn. You need to utilize mana discounts and control the number of minions you have to play Zilliax at 1 mana while having Sonya on board (then you can for example bounce him back with Breakdance, sacrifice one of your other minions and then play it again at 1 mana to get another 0 mana copy).
But the “main” win condtition is Sonya + Valeera’s Gift shenanigans. If you have the 1 mana version of Sandbox Scoundrel, you can play Sonya, Scoundrel, Cover Artist on Sonya (for 1 mana) and you will get another copy of Cover Artist . Now you get extra copies of Valeera’s Gift and then each Deadly Poison you play also gives you extra copies of Deadly Poison. So you buff your weapon to 30+ attack and boink your opponent in the face.
Shop Update: Mini-Set, New & Returning Skins (including Mythic Ragnaros), Signature & Card Pack Bundles, Tavern Tickets
I agree, I would never spend so much money on a single cosmetic item.
But then again, if they keep adding more F2P stuff to the game, I don’t mind. If those expensive cosmetics will keep the game going, that’s fine.
The problem starts when they do those expensive, whale cosmetics and pay less attention to the majority of their playerbase at the same time (like, you know, getting rid of free game boards).
The Traveling Travel Agency Card Reveals - Reveal Schedule, Full List of Cards From the Perils in Paradise Mini-Set
Mechanically they should work exactly the same, it’s just a difference in flavor.
(Live Now!) Hearthstone 30.2.2 Patch Notes - Standard, Wild and Battlegrounds Balance Changes, Bug Fixes
I agree. It’s rightly classified as a buff when we only look at Standard format. But it’s a clear nerf in Wild format. Even if they didn’t plan for it specifically, a relatively popular deck became much worse.
I think in cases like that (when a change is both a buff and a nerf at the same time), they should give out full Dust refunds.
Asteroid/Burn Shaman are some of the strongest decks right now and they are probably scared of them taking over the meta so a preemptive nerf is justified (Malted Magma is a surprisingly strong card in those decks). Not going face would probably be the right nerf here.
As for the Chalice, yeah, that’s a big problem with Tourist. Many cards that weren’t too strong in their own class will get nerfed because of the other class that could abuse them. It’s not really fair but I don’t think there’s a good solution to this. It was the same thing with Dual Class cards, many of them were fine in one class but busted in the other and then both classes got punished.
As for Lamplighter, not making it go face would just kill the card. I think that nerfing it to 5 will make a difference (the previous nerf from 3 to 4 did matter) but probably not as big as they might want. Maybe 6 mana and even better stats? So you can’t play two on the same turn in the late game? I don’t know, haha.
