Command the Illidari
It deals 6 Rush damage in a 100% flexible way for for 5, which seems ok when you compare it to, say, Restless Mummy. Obviously though the big payoff here is with the “When a friendly minion dies” cards Demon Hunter will get. That makes this a bit slow but very swingy.
10 Card Nerfs Being Reverted Before The Upcoming Rotation (Including One Card from This Year)
My best guess is something to recorrect Shaman – especially with Shudderwock leaving, Thrall is looking badly poised for the new year. Sludge Slurper back to two attack would lift all shaman decks (‘Krond, Murloc, Quest, Overload) without being too dangerous. But those decks haven’t cut Slurper, so maybe not the most urgent to unnerf. Dragon’s Pack’s nerf is looking like it was overkill, so is another candidate. Mogu Fleshaper would be … fun… to unnerf but as we saw with the Doom in the Tomb event it’s the most dangerous card to revert.
Dragonmaw Poacher
We knew there’d be an anti-dragon tech card. This is outright devastating if your opponent controls a dragon. Will there be enough dragons for this to justify inclusion in competitive deck slots? We’ll see! One good news is the new minion- Draconic Lackey- ups the amount of decks where a dragon will show up eventually.
Big Ol' Whelp
Every bit as good as Azure Drake, but Azure Drake was a symptom of Hearthstone not having a lot of cycle cards back in the day. It’s a good card, but don’t be surprised if it’s only a narrow amount of Midrange Dragon decks in classes with bad draw that wind up running this.
Bloodsail Flybooter
Aaaall sorts of fun stuff here. Combo activator. History Buff activator. Cannon Barrage activator. I might even like this better than Pharoah Cat tbh, the Reborn cards you get are so expensive and clunky.
Lightforged Crusader
I think this is playable, just not as a deck buildaround. Instead, you play only a few Neutral minions, wait until your deck thins out, and drop this, the same way Control Mech Warrior would eventually drop Omega Assembly or Control Shaman gets Hagatha online. This is expensive and doesn’t have board impact, but 7/7/7 generate 5 cards still seems like a heckuva play.
Paladin has gotten all sorts of cool healing and removal cards these past years, but a control deck never took off. Why? Cuz Paladin has no Value Cards. But now he does! A control deck has no problem waiting to draw Alysiana/Siamat/Ziliax or whatever Neutrals it really really wants, then using this to get a bunch of resources on the spot.
Elemental Allies
There are.. some Elementals in standard but none of them really fit into the same deck. SpellSpam mage won’t mind Violet Spellwing, Mana Cyclone, and Chenvaala, but I ain’t sure you’re gonna hit this sidequest’s effect consistently enough.
Whispers of EVIL
Priest has no business running Lackeys, you can use this in Miracle Priest but that’s about it.
Aeroponics
It activates Garden Gnome and vice-versa. There are enough cards that summon 3 treants where you can play this for free. It works perfect for that archetype, what else can ya say.
Sky Raider
Every single Warrior deck can run this, certainly after rotation when Town Crier leaves. 5/5
Evasive Chimaera
There are just way too many T1 minions, lackeys, tokens, tiny rushes, and small weapons bouncing around for this to ever see play.
Fire Hawk
If greedy control decks become a thing, this will… probably still be bad, cuz everyone can easily remove it T3. Maybe once we get Elemental support it will find a home.
Goboglide Tech
Reminds me of Scalewyrm, harder to proc though. Mechs are sticky enough where you may be able to pull this off consistently, or if nothing else play it with a 1-drop Mech which there are a lot of. Rated 3 stars (borderline playable, might find a home).
Grizzled Wizard
Even if Quest/Galakrond decks are everywhere this still seems underwhelming, you can’t capitalize on their HP the same way they can, and stopping their HP for a turn doesn’t really win you the game.
Hippogryph
100% power creep on poor Stegodon u_u
Not an awful card but I can’t think of any deck that would run it. Closest it Midrange Beast Hunter.
Just being a 1mana 2/2 with a tribal tag is really good, the fact that you can coin this with the HP to have a 3/2 on your first turn is quite stunning.
