Best Hearthstone Decks - Standard Meta Tier List - The Great Dark Beyond (November 2024)
Totem shaman should definitely be added to the list. Quite few players are having success with it, in particular due to very good warlock matchup.
(UPDATE: LIVE NOW!) Demon Hunter Nerfs - Skull of Gul'dan, Imprisoned Antaen, Eye Beam and Aldrachi Warblades
To be honest, I still prefer C’Thun meta. At least there were several playable classes. Now it’s just DH after DH. But it was close second to me.
(UPDATE: LIVE NOW!) Demon Hunter Nerfs - Skull of Gul'dan, Imprisoned Antaen, Eye Beam and Aldrachi Warblades
This nerfs are a joke. Pretty much all of the cards are still powerful and DH is still super strong and unfun to play against. Not that it doesn’t have counters, but having to play against 20 DHs in a row certainly doesn’t help.
This is one of the worse, most repetitive and boring expansion openings I have ever experienced.
Hunting Demon Hunters - How To Counter The New Class
I had success with spell Druid and Zoolock with double sac pact as anti DH tech.
Surprisingly, I am at exactly 50% with midrange dragon priest, which still has room for improvement.
DH is definitely beatable, but some of the cards (Skull, Priestess) are simply too powerful and unhealthy for the game. Can’t wait until tomorrow. I took few easy wins against DH, but it is getting repetitive and boring when last 9 opponents play either aggro or OTK DH.
Midrange Libram Paladin AoO
Actually, I had in my list at first. However since I expect early meta to be more aggresive, I replaced it with Overconfident orc. In slower meta, I would definitely prefer Blistering rot.
Secret Deathrattle Rogue AoO
Not really. The idea was based on how hunter used secrets for early game that helped them play mid-game deathrattles a while ago.
Midrange Libram Paladin AoO
Yes, I think this ha potential to be better since Wild pyromancer provides board clear capabilities, which might be needed in faster meta. It has great synergy with Libram of Wisdom and Libram of Justice.
As for Teron, it’s a flexible spot. Maiev is probably better. However, I want to try it out since it has great synergy with Recurring Villain (resummoned Villain will already be active). Libram of Wisdom is probably enough to make Villain work.
Secret Deathrattle Rogue AoO
True, but rogue doesn’t have enough secrets. Worse case scenario, you keep bamboozle in hand for a while, which due to quite a lot of card draw might not be that problematic.
Secret Deathrattle Rogue AoO
It will require testing and will be meta dependant. To be honest, I feel like Galakrond rogue will remain the best approach for class. This deck at least seems fun to me, which is why I want to try it out.
Ranked Ladder Rework is Out - Everything You Need To Know About the New Ranked System!
So far it works as usual. I have climbed to gold within few games thanks to win streak. It gives the same amount of stars as if you won an extra game. I don’t know if it is valid for all ranks though. In previous system, last 5 ranks before legend didn’t have win streaks anymore.
Activate the Reliquary Priest AoO
He provides tempo and can bring back your deathrattle minions, including Reliquary. Worse minions are Reclaimer, Kaahrj and Teron. And even those are at least 3/3 with reborn. I don’t see a reason to cut it. Inner fire combo priest used it quite succesfully as well and was running even worse minions to res.
I am more concerned about focusing on Reliquary too much, since there is no way of tutoring it.
It all needs to be tested of course, so only time will tell what approach is the best.
Can You Play Still Play Control in Ashes of Outland - Theorycrafting Decks for the New Expansion
Great article that was very interesting to read. I can definitely agree with what has been discussed. It seems like priest is the most likely candidate to be king of control due to Galakrond value.
That handlock deck looks very similar to what I managed to came up with. Although, it is quite straightforward with few decision points on tech options and if Plot wist should be included or not. It probably should be in slower meta since it can give extra Kanrethad.
I have few extra suggestions. First, warrior. They still have excellent removal tools, so there might be 2 extra control oriented outs for them: either taunt or bomb warrior. Second, both shaman and priest could be going towards spell oriented control decks. Especially in case of priest, spell oriented Galakrond deck looks like it could work.
On the side note, it would be interesting to read similar article on other main archetypes as well: midrange (paladin and priest got some interesting tools), combo (Malygos is most obvious candidate) and aggro/tempo.
Activate the Reliquary Priest AoO
You could certainly go for it, but then you would have to remove your early game minions like Sethekk, Reclaimer, Kaahrj. I wanted to go for more midrange-y approach and not into Rez mechanic which I don’t find fun to play or play against. To be honest, I was also considering cutting Catrina, but I guess she is fine on her own.
Psyche Split
Sure, but what minion do you want to copy? Priest has cheaper enablers.
Psyche Split
Wrong section. Was ment for Reliquary of Souls. This one is too expensive, but has some meme potential with Recurring Villain.
Reliquary of Souls
Since it is deathrattle, you can copy it with Shadowy figure for mere 2 mana (and it curves out nicely), trigger it’s deathrattle with Wreathced reclaimer or bring it back with Psychopomp.

Overgrowth
Wild is already doing that: getting Kael’thas out and drawing trough entire deck and killing their opponents. Sometimes on turn 4 even. You can check Kael’thas miracle druid videos.
Overgrowth
If it only gives 1, it’s a mediocre card at best so it should give 2 to be somewhat playable. Unfortunately, I think you might be correct.
I am missing Priestess of fury on this list. Sure, she is not seeing that much play at the moment, but that is only due to popularity of warlock and Sac pac. With nerfs to Sac pac, she will return with vengeance.
I strongly believe midrange DH is better than the current aggresive tempo DH.
