I managed to hit legend with Vicious Syndicate’s Pure Paladin list. If you can find yourself in a decent mini meta with Demon hunters and Hunters then you can do some good stuff.

As pointed out in the article the problem is rogue, it’s a horrible matchup.

I feel like we’re getting close to some really fun and cool decks with Paladin and I’m hoping they receive some good tools for the next expansion.

I really feel like Paladin would benefit from having their Classic and basic sets looked at and buffed.

This deck is right up my alley. I feel like Crystalsmith is a no brainier though. Decent 2 drop against agro and potentially huge healing later on with Libram of Hope

Yep. I hit legend with the Quest Maly deck but it certainly wasn’t oppressive and required a fair amount of skill to pilot.

Combo decks are important for the game imo because they serve to counter greedy control style decks.

Can’t agree with you here. I can’t remember the last time a Maly deck was anywhere near oppressive.

I think you’re right but there is some merit to the deck for sure. The Galakrond package is so insanely strong that you can pretty much add whatever you want to it and it’ll be ok/good.

The secret package can be really underwhelming in some games. Unfortunately there aren’t really enough good deathrattles in standard at the moment.

The Stickyfinger is an interesting inclusion. I suppose there is a lot of hunter, warrior, rogue and some Galakrond about that the tempo swing it can provide is helpful enough.

I love this deck. So much value and not annoying rez priest bs. The wild pyro tech is incredible for small wide boards from warrior, DH and hunter.

True but nothing puts out damage like DH other than face hunter which is a terrible matchup for warlock.

You barely get there vs agro DH even with double sac pac. My only hope is that DH goes a bit more midrange which will give other classes a chance. If DH continues it’s dominance I’ll stop playing. Such an unfun brainless deck.

I think it’s mainly there for the Nether breath combo, 8 health and 8 damage is a nice swing turn.

Man that murders Galak warlock vs DH which is not good news.

Demon hunter won’t die but it’ll HOPEFULLY be more skill intensive instead of any brainless idiot hitting above 50% win rates by going face and barely trading.

It’s not really a problematic card but it’s ridiculously efficient for its mana cost. It ruins pure paladin and no minion mage which is a shame as neither of those are exactly tier one decks.

I’ve been playing a few variants of this deck for a while and it’s super fun. You can build surprisingly big boards very quickly.

A few tips having played it for a while:
– Learn Dranonic is insane, keep it in the mulligan and try and time when it goes off. If you can get it down at the same time as playing Nether portal, that can be a really hard board to deal with.

– As mentioned above, your minions can synergise with secrets so try and font of power before playing a secret unless you’re in dire need.

– Keep in mind if you get the Prime, he will mess up your deck requirements. He is worth playing though.

– You will hate albatross.

– Keep an eye on hand size If you have an evocation in hand and you’re close to lethal. You may wish to dump your hand for a turn or two.

– if you have the quest, try it. It’s not normally run but it can be good in slower matches.

Honestly I get your point. I personally think Kayn is one of the dumbest cards in the game.

Sac pact is a problem card I agree. I run a portal warlock deck and that also gets heavily countered by it: I also love Jaraxus and he’s completely unplayable at the moment.

However tempo/otk demon hunter decks are pretty over powered at the moment and sac pact does help balance that a bit. Not a perfect or good balance but one nonetheless.

Had a look at your list; I like it. Gala priest is quietly a lot of fun and seems teched well to beat most meta decks at the moment.

Sac pact is the only card keeping DH slightly balanced at the moment. DH is still really over tuned and the amount of damage they can deal by just curving out is ridiculous.
