Khadgar
Khagar just has a LOT of Variety for Mage, that it almost feels like if he is his own Zilliax in a sence were he has so much Value to give you. It can come in maybe shapes and forms of powering up, if you manage to draw him.
P.S. He’s also beast friends with Witchwood Piper, if you don’t have any 1 mana minions.
Here are the Minions that Khadgar can combo with:
–
Mirrior Image: Usual for Zoo Mage, for when you need early protection 1 Mana 0/8 is pretty good.
Murloc Tidehunter: Murloc Mage (Kinda)
F
ormer Champ: 7 Mana 13/13 lul
Mecharoo’s Deathrattle: usful for Blast wave with discount.
Microtech Controler & Replicating Meance (of all things): Very usual for Blast Wave for Resources
Scarab Egg: Potential Tempo Mage Deck idea?
Whrilglider & Explodnator: Bomb Mage is now a Possibly.
Astromancer & Giggling Inventor: Casual Control Mage Combo
Mechanical Whelp: Mech Mage Makes a Return?
Splitting Image: Secret Mage’s new Trick up His/Her Sleeve (This will summon 2 Khadgar which are going to be powerful soft-taunts becuase of how much value you are going to get.)
Cairne Bloodhoof: Just a very usual card for mage, all of a sudden (In my opinion).
Hogger: For the Meme Mages out there, Hogger is now a Viable Pick. Congrats, dude.
Illidan Stormrage: 8 Mana can’t get more value without using 3 card combo. feelsbad
Oondasta: Big Beast Mage is a Possibliy beucase it’s going to summon 2 Beasts in 1 Overkill.
Travelling Healer
Although Heal Zoolock has lost a lot of power, this card is still pretty usual to have.
I believe Heal Zoolock will move on to Zoo Healadin because of the 4 mana 8/8 Taunt, if you manage to heal enough times.
Unidentified Contract
Vinespine Slayer died for this!
It served us well, now this is it’s son.
Hench-Clan Burglar
Blink Fox Replacement.
You can still use Blink fox if you want, though.
Dr. Boom's Scheme
Actually, I’m going to be a bit omptimist with this card, becuase It’s still considered as armor and yes it’s really fucking slow, but espically if you have an early draw for this, you can use it for when for control at late game.
Now obviously this card is proberply not going so see play, becuase it’s not upgrades 2 armor per turn, but I think their reason for it was becuase that Blizzard thought it would have been too OP? They could have easily just made it 2 armor upgrades each turn, but costs like 6-8 mana, would still be usual.
Oh well.
Omega Devastator
4 Mana 4/5: If It’s Late Game, do a better job then Crowd Roaster. You get to also use Crowd Roaster.
Rafaam's Scheme
Eeeeeehhh… as of right now, I don’t know if there are any actual combos you can make out of the imps, so I think I can safe to say this is the first bad card that blizzard made for Rise of Shadows. Maybe in the future it’ll get better.
Improve Morale
It’s Alright. We just need to how much power Improve Morale is going to get, as we go towards the next 2 expansions.
Oblivitron
I think the Reason why People are pooping on this cad is because of the 6 Mana, and how they see this card considered as “too weak” because of the Stats being too underwhelming in their eyes, But people know that in the long run that because it summons a Minion AND it triggers the Deathrattle, that it is what makes Oblivitron such a Powerful Legendary Minion.
For Example: You can use Oblivitron and Weaponized Piñata for Control Hunter where it’s like you have 2 Pinatas because they have similar stats, and it’s going to give you 2 Legendary Minions in your hand.
Another very powerful combo is “6 mana 3/4 deathrattle: summon a 2/2 and a 7/7 (for 9/9 stats in total) and that 2/2 can also give you a 7/7”. Like Oblivitron and Mechanical Whelp does take some time to find for the combo, but once you do, that Combo becomes absolutely crazy, because you have basically have a 6 mana: 19/20 in terms of value!
Now of course that that isn’t the immediate effect, and it’s 19/20 in terms of “sub-wave stats” but even having a 3/4 that makes a 9/9, much like how Anima Golem is for Warlock (in a scene) that had a drawback was at least, considered to be a good enough card.
I believe that players are still not used to the power being toned down, and thus our first glance is going to be VERY rusty, but mark my words when either Mech Hunter becomes a new meta, or when Deathrattle Hunter makes a return, expect we won’t have eggs and cubes, but Oblivitron and Necromechanic. And yes it does and is worst then just Egg and Cube but we have to use the tools that we got. Especially since we don’t have any cards that properly assist Deathrattle Triggers for Oblivitron. So even if you do happen to have this card, I highly recommend that you DON’T dust this card.
A New Challenger for Mage, but actually doesn’t suck.
