Animated Broomstick
I always ask myself the question: Do I want to run this over something else. And looking at current deck lists, the awnser is, at least for me, no. Something that held Serrated Tooth (Rogue Weapon from Rastakhan with same effect as Deathrattle) back to the point where it didnt see any play.
But as I said, can go both ways. Lets see what happens
First Day of School
This is horrible in a normal deck, but Paladin’s Limitations really promote this: Pure Paladin lacks 1 Drops and needs them for Libram and Hand of A’dal, Highlander Paladin can run Blazing Battlemage as probably stronger and more reliable card, but this can be played alongside it, Goody Two-Shields can use this for Spellburst…
I think in a normal deck with no limitations this stands no chance, but Pure and Highlander will run this.
Animated Broomstick
I think this is either 5 Stars or only 2 Stars. If there is a deck that fits it, it will be great, but if not, it wont see play. Control Decks usually dont play minions that need rush or those who have Rush anyway and Tempo doesnt play Rush at all. However, there might be decks with great Synergy: Hunter, with Diving Gryphon, and Priest with Apotheosis. Galakrond Priest with Discount could play this along Murozond and instantly heal for 10 while taking care of a huge minion. But Priest has many good cards and perhaps there is no niche for a gimmick like this.
Diligent Notetaker
Good thing to have with Explosive Evolution, Far Sight, Lighting Storm and other strong spells. Good for Midrange and Control Archetypes, might be in Evolve too.
Goody Two-Shields
If it lives, it is really strong. But I think most of the time it is too unreliable to fit in a deck.
Big upside for this is the fact it is a paladin card and therefor has access to Pure Paladin and Highlander Paladin who also play “meh” cards. Might see some play, but it’s not all that strong.
Wand Thief
The fact it needs Combo active holds this back a lot, especially in Mage. I think it might end up in a lot of decks, but at one of the cards that are most likely to be cut. Something you add as 26th card in your deck instead of something like Anchient Mysteries or Sap.
Nature Studies
Druid’s Renew ๐
Giving you the awnser you need or proving you with another copy of a strong spell turned out to be really strong in Priest.
However, Druid lacks the Penance, the Shadow Words, the Plague of Death, ectr. I think it is worse than Renew, but strong enough to be played in Spell Druid. Beyond that, I dont see it’s place in Minion-Heavy Druid Decks. Maybe it will fit in some new Archetypes though.
Lightning Bloom
I dont think it is much better than Innervate, but I’m sure some decks will find a spot for this. Spell Druid loves 0 Mana Spells for Mountseller and Shaman might want to cheat out something too (Lurker Below vs Aggro Deck comes in mind)
Shan'do Wildclaw
For Druid: 2 Stars (for this expansion).
Beast +1/+1 is useless. Copy can be strong with Marsh Hydra and especially Winged Guardian, but even if they make a comeback in a Meta Deck, this will struggle. It has Anti-Synergy with Strength in Numbers and Imprisoned Saytr and has to be in Hand when Hydra/Guardian is played. However, I think if the Meta requires more Winged Guardians, it might see play.
For Hunter: 5 Stars.
Keleseth for Beast Hunter, but it doesnt limit your Deckbuilding and even if drawn lategame it can become a huge threat by coping something like Zixor or Mok’Nathal Lion. It can even copy King Krush in Highlander Hunter!
Transfer Student
I think it will see play in constructed. Not a must-pick like Zilliax, but I’m pretty sure it will be played in Highlander. Just look at Mage: They play cards like Ruststeel Raider and desperatly search for earlygame options. And 90% of the possible effects are a LOT stronger than Ruststeel Raider. Outland might be pretty bad, Pandaria is situational, but Orgrimmar or Rise of Shadows is incredibly strong. It’s like Scalerider without Dragon requirement and cheaper. Or Evil Cable Rat with +1+1.
Maiev Shadowsong
Zilliax, Reborn
I think Maiev is an Auto-Include for a LOT of Decks. Disables Taunt, prevents huge minions, Improves your AoE Clears…the ideal control battlecry! And that on a 4 Mana 4/3, so at least Midrange Decks can make use of her too.
Magtheridon
Honestly I think it would’ve been better to have Magtheridon at 5 or 6 Mana, but with “No Warders -> Awaken”-Mechanic. Meaning Devolve, Polymorph, too many minions on opponent’s side, ectr. actually awaken him.
Murozond the Infinite
It doesn’t. It was shown in the Final Card Reveal Stream and “played” a Siamat without Battlecry.
Utgarde Grapplesniper
This expansion, this card will probably not see play. Simply because there are too many Dragon Decks. But I think if next year is another powerspike, this might be used to give a massive tempo advantage. 3/5 stars.
Strength in Numbers
If a true Big Druid Deck comes in the Meta, this is great. This + Ysera, Unleashed and next turn a Big minion + a big minion summoned is pretty strong. However, in every other archetype this is probably a waste of a spot in your deck. 3/5 Stars
Murozond the Infinite
Riiight. Tess doesnt do that and this probably works the same way… :/ But it’s still pretty strong.
Murozond the Infinite
8 Mana 8/8 Dragon. Battlecry: Summon 4 random Demons. Equip a 5/2 claw.
It’s Time Warp with a few restrictions! ๐
I think this has potential in Warrior. A 4 Mana 4/4 that summons a random 2 or 3 Mana minion is nice and it can be improved by Greenskin/Upgrade. If Galakrond Warrior comes back, it also can be played after Galakrond for a 5 Mana minion. Also: Reveal Season is far from over, there are probably more weapons on the horizon!
Rogue will, at least in Standart, have a hard time finding a weapon for this card. Maybe they’ll add something, but it’s not worth running this for your Hero Power.
