Sorcerous Substitute
Works only in Spell Damage Decks -> Works only in slow Shaman Decks
There however, it is decent. Attack with your weapon on 6 and get 12/12.
3 Stars for now, if Spell Damage gets more relevant (Mage for example) this might get better aswell.
Firebrand
Solid earlygame removal minion with a decent body. Spellburst is easy to trigger for mage.
The Ultimate Combo is this + Devolving Missiles on 4. This will be really fun 😀
Should be in Tempo, Highlander, Casino…just everything mage does. 4 Stars.
Demon Companion
The Animal Companions but small.
Demon Companions are 2/2 Taunt, 2/1 Charge and 1/2 with “Your other minions have +1 Attack”.
Manafeeder Panthara
Demon Hunter is the go-to class for this, but I think there are more classes to use this.
Demon Hunter will play this as 2 Drop in Tempo DH. They’ve been looking for something like this already. 4 Stars.
Warlock will play it in Zoo to keep the Hand full. Also in Quest for fast completion.
Hunter will play this cause they need Beast and draw. Not only in Beast Hunter with Shan’do Wildclaw, but also in Highlander with Ingenuity, ectr.
Tour Guide can make this be played on 2 in Aggro Decks, so even more uses there.
Neutral, good stats, can draw, nice tag… 5 Stars. Reminds me of Questing Explorer but for fast Archetypes.
Cram Session
This is not the big draw for low Mana it wants to be.
The only Archetpye this can work in is Tempo Mage.
Tempo Mage, as long as you keep it somewhat competitive, runs 4 Spell Damage minions (2x Lab Partner, Solarian and Thalnos)
So: You have to combo this with one of these cards to get Arcane Intellect at a slight discount.
Tempo Mage really has no place for such hyper-niche cards. Maybe at some point there are many good spell damage cards and the Spell Damage Study can be played without risk for even more and this can reliably draw 2-3 cards….
But not this expansion. For now, 1 Star.
Fel Guardians
Corridor Creeper, but TERRIBLE!
Whatever, I don’t mind it if Demon Hunter gets awful cards. They really needed this “useless archetype” and Token DH is here to be just that.
Voracious Reader
Face Hunter and Tempo Priest just became relevant.
It draws 3 cards for classes without draw. Priest can even buff it. Heck, if this was Priest only it would already be 5 Stars. Doenst need a big explanation, this, by itself, enables multiple new archetypes.
Trick Totem
Random Spell = Usually works in your favor. 3 Mana or less = Secrets, so even more likely to work in your favor. Mage and Shaman both need a strong earlygame for their control archetypes and this really fits in this category. I think this will be in every Mage and Shaman Deck that wants defense. 5 Stars due to it’s sheer power.
Steward of Scrolls
Big old Whelp is Azure Drake, but better.
This is Azure Drake but worse.
With these stats and a too high cost to make use of discovered spells, 1 Star.
Bloated Python
Works in Beast Hunter. Also has a Deathrattle. A Deathrattle that is worth Pack Tactics, Vectus and Mok’Nathal Lion.
This is a core card for Beast Hunter and if Deathrattle Hunter becomes it’s own Archetype, it’s also a core card there. 4 Stars.
Blood Herald
Come forth, Coward!
Didn’t work in Goblins vs Gnomes. Do you really expect it to work now?
1 Star.
Teacher's Pet
Works great with Guardian Animals, works great with Shan’do Wildclaw, already strong by itself… I think both Druid and Hunter will love to drops this on Curve to stop Aggro Opponents or just create pressure on Control Opponents. This is one of the cards that really pushes midrange minion decks into the Meta. Also works in Highlander.
Strong 4 Star card, I even thought about 5 Stars because of the variety of decks that want to use it.
Krolusk Barkstripper
Very strong in Beast Hunter! There are enough spells to trigger it, so it pretty much Rotnest Drake for Beasts. If the Meta allows it, Highlander Hunter might also use it for big removal.
I think it is not as strong as Rotnest Drake since you have to Combo it (and not with having something in hand, but with actually throwing something out for Mana), but Rotnest Drake is 5 Stars. Krolusk should pop up in a bunch of decklists and make some big plays, so 4 Stars.
Overwhelm
Very Powerful removal for Beast Hunter!
But this has two big hurdles to overcome!
1: Beast Hunter has to be a powerful deck. This isnt good enough for something like Highlander.
2: Removal has to be necessary for the Meta. Hunter doesnt have a lot of draw, so they have to draw something huge every turn. If this lies dead in your hand, you’d rather have another strong beast.
But with Tracking being able to throw it out when you don’t need it, this should work in Beast Hunter most of the time, so 3 Stars.
Also, the card is super cute! Look at all the Wolpertingers destroying everything!
Reaper's Scythe
Really nice weapon, works great with Corsair Cache, very useful with Steeldancer and Cutting Class, just feels good!
4 Star card, useful the majority of Warrior Decks!
Shield of Honor
Works well with Kor’kron Elite + Inner Rage + This and Rampage + Bloodsworn.
Can also make Bloodboil Brute more sticky, but that might not be enough to use this in your deck.
I think this is used if Rampage is used and if Rampage isnt used, this isnt used.
Paladin also can’t get a whole lot out of this.
4 Stars because Tempo Warrior is really strong and doesnt seem to die in the rotation. But this is probably the only deck that will use this and if the archetype dies, this dies with it. Might fall to 2 Stars and “only from Cobalt Spellkin” if Tempo Warrior gets nerfed and Bomb Warrior takes over.
Sneaky Delinquent
Rogue usually combos their Archetypes. Stealth and Secret, Stealth and Galakrond, Stealth and Weapons….
I think Sneaky Delinquent can fit into this!
Coerce
Can break through a lot and follow up on Lackeys in many ways. With both Rogue and Warrior having a lot of 1-Drops to Combo it, I would be suprised to see this in many decks. 4 Stars..
Need 2-3 Spells to actually threaten your opponent. Otherwise, the Wyrms will just die or not even be summoned at all. I think the powerlevel is too low for Highlander, but Tempo Mage might use it as a finisher. But for now, this archetype looks terrible, so 3 Stars. Maybe a Midrange Cheap Spell Mage can work around it.
