Murder at Castle Nathria - New Hearthstone Expansion - Cards, Reveals, Release Date, New Mechanics, and More!
There are no BG perks in the pre-order this time.
Iksar's Twitter Q&A #44 Summary - Classic As A Rotating Format, Graveyard Feature, 4 Sets Per Year, Alternate Artwork, Dungeon Run, Dr. Boom and more!
I didn’t write the usual weekly summary because the patch was released just a few days earlier and I didn’t have enough decks to post yet. I’ll be publishing a meta analysis from Old Guardian today, though.
Hearthstone Balance Update Is Coming Tomorrow (Thursday, June 16)
Nothing yet, they will probably drop patch notes at the same time as patch tomorrow, or maybe an hour earlier. At least we won’t have to wait too long either way ๐
Hearthstone Mercenaries Y'Shaarj Event - Guides For All 10 Tasks (Update: Task #9 Fixed)
Yeah, those limited time events are not very “budget-friendly”, you have to be playing the mode for a while already to complete them. But it’s nice to see that OG still tries to make some more F2P-oriented comps anyway.
Top Standard & Wild Legend Decks - Sunken City (+Throne of Tides) Week 9 - June 2022
Haha, oh yeah, you can meet all kinds of interesting decks in low ranks. I think that a Mech Priest could actually work in Bronze – while the class has no Mech synergies, there are enough good Neutral Mechs to kind of make it work. It’s definitely not a deck that would be viable in higher ranks, but “down there” anything goes.
Top Standard & Wild Legend Decks - Sunken City (+Throne of Tides) Week 9 - June 2022
In Standard or Wild? I guess that you could technically build a Mech Priest build in Wild, but it would be really difficult in Standard. The class has no Mech synergies so it would have to rely on Neutrals only. Maybe they just got lucky and drew perfectly :p
Top Standard & Wild Legend Decks (+12 Wins Heroic Brawliseum) - Voyage to the Sunken City Week 7 - May 2022
Almost hitting a certain rank and then going on a losing streak is the worst. I had a similar situation with Top 100 last season. Got to like #105, most likely one win away from Top 100, and then fell down all the way to 800. Feels really bad.
New Hearthstone Mini-Set Announced - Throne of Tides - Launching June 1
Yep, he was just revealed!
Hearthstone Patch 23.2.2 Notes - Nerfs to Drek'thar, Multi-Strike, Dragonbane Shot + 17 Cards Buffed, Battlegrounds Balance Changes
Yeah, those unnerfs were kind of funny, but it makes sense I think. SI:7 Smuggler was never a really problematic card, it was just “bug fixed” because the initial effect didn’t match how the card was supposed to work. And Wildpaw Gnoll was obnoxious, but that was last rotation, with things like Secret Passage in Standard. The card might be just fine right now (of course we’ll need some time to find it out, but Thief Rogue can be a quite interesting deck if balanced correctly).
Hearthstone Balance Patch Coming on Thursday (May 19) With Standard And Battlegrounds Nerfs And Buffs
I think it’s only a balance patch so there should be no new bugs since no new content is added.
Wait for 23.4 (mini-set patch) for the bugs ๐
Celestalon Teasing Upcoming QoL Features
Not sure what you mean, you can still use the random one.
From Galvadon to the Juggernaut: How Quests Changed Over the Years
Sorry, didn’t close the card tag when linking Open the Waygate so a part of the text was gone. Fixed it!
Warcraft Mobile Game Will Be Revealed Next Tuesday (May 3)
Yeah, timing with Ben Lee would make sense, but my point was that I don’t think they would need designers as early as 2 years before they started hiring someone to create the game’s world. Because what would they actually even design for 2 whole years?
But you might be right, we’ll probably find out soon enough.
Warcraft Mobile Game Will Be Revealed Next Tuesday (May 3)
I’m not so sure. They only revealed that they’re hiring for world building and design for the survival game project like 3 months ago, and first Hearthstone devs left over 2 years ago.
Plus Ben Lee left after the survival game was already revealed and he still said that he leaves for an unannounced project (but I could KIND OF see still calling it an unannounced project).
Balance Changes Announced - Standard & Wild Nerfs - Releasing Next Tuesday (April 26)
Kazakusan nerf is a big deal for Druid. They don’t run any other Dragons than Onyxia so they would need to slot at least three more (and realistically four to play around stuff like Mutanus hitting one of them). And you often need Kazakusan in Control matchups because they might be able to answer your Giants/Ivus/Onyxia and then you’re left with nothing. So you either cut Kazakusan and make your Control matchups much worse or add a few Dragons and make all of the matchups slightly worse.
Miracle Growth to 8 is actually also quite a big deal, it often delays it by 1 turn or means that you can’t play Growth + Earthen Scales on the same turn. People usually underestimate the impact of 1 mana nerfs.
But yes, Kazakusan should still be playable. It’s possibly even a buff in Dragon decks that run a couple of non-Dragon minions. It doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t dust it, since you can always re-craft it later ๐
(Shop Update) Battlegrounds Heroes - Champions of Shadows Returns At A Reduced Price ($9.99)
Those were some of the first bundles, I think they sold them at too high of a price (since they didn’t come with Bartenders nor other cosmetics like the new finishers) so they didn’t sell too well.
Voyage to the Sunken City Launch Guide - Release Time, Freebies, New Mechanics, New Decks
Time zones are difficult, thank you for letting me know! ๐
(Live Now) "Crab Rave" Coming Later Today With Pre-Order Bundle Giveaways & Twitch Drops
I’ve watched for the first 30 minutes and there were three of them.
Later I’ve seen them asking “show us how much you like Bob, we’ll pick one winner and give them a code” or something like that. Maybe they switched from just posting codes to those “mini-giveaways”, I’m not sure.
Iksar's Twitter Q&A #41 Summary - Shifting Classic to "Rotating Format", Wild-Only Set, Upgrading Cards to Golden, Tradeable in Core Set and more!
$5 feels like the right price for me, since we’re talking about a Legendary most of the players have the Golden version of anyway. So it’s not like we’re getting a new Legendary card + COSMETIC, it’s just the cosmetic part.
Even if they would price it at $10 I would say that it’s too expensive… but $25? It does feel like a joke indeed.
We would need some really broken Infuse effects to build a deck around killing your own minions to trigger them ๐ But it’s a possibility.
As for interactivity of locations, I’d wait and see what kind of location interactions we get in this set, because we’ll surely get some. And, of course, what kind of location effects we get, because the ones we have right now are more like a small bonus than something that needs to be taken care of.
