Huge Shop Update: Constructed, Battlegrounds & Mercenaries Bundles (Including Diao Chan Valeera and Bartender Fizzy for Gold) + Free Card Back
I’m really happy that they went and updated an old portrait and added a card back even for people who purchased it in the past. I hope that more old portraits (without unique animations etc.) will get some more love.
History of Class And Archetype Popularity Since Whispers Of The Old Gods (Official Data)
It’s for Standard, I should have probably made it more clear.
History of Class And Archetype Popularity Since Whispers Of The Old Gods (Official Data)
Yeah, we don’t know what ranks those data is from, but it’s safe to assume that depending what ranks you were playing, the meta could have been quite different.
When it comes to whether the deck is oppressive or not, there are a few more factors like deck’s win rate and play style. For me it’s also whether I like to play a given deck or not – when a deck I don’t like dominates it feels much worse, obviously. Data is one thing, but feelings will always be subjective ๐
By the way, what I would like to see is a win rate chart on top of the popularity chart. That would be A LOT more data, and probably wouldn’t fit nicely into a graph like that, but I would genuinely like to download a spreadsheet and go through it, even if just out of curiosity.
It's Your Last Chance To Purchase Stormwind's Mini-Set Deadmines - But Is It Worth It?
Yeah, I agree. Mini-set would have to be particularly bad with basically no good Legendaries for it to not be worth it for 2k Gold (then it might be worth it more to get it through packs or even just craft a few Commons/Rares and be done with it). With a staple like Mr. Smite AND a bunch of Commons and Rares that are great on top of that, it’s a no-brainer IMO.
Iksar's Twitter Q&A #38 Summary - Microsoft Acquisition, Tournament Mode, Arena Future, Naxx in Classic, Dust Incident And More!
I should have probably made it more clear, but the question was about NERFING the Coin (for it to not count as a spell) not BUFFING it.
I think that there’s an argument for buffing it, but it might be hard to balance. It heavily depends on the meta and the deck itself, but there were some metas where going first and second was already pretty close (like within 1-2% WR from each other), so buffing it means that we might end up with an opposite situation.
Also, it’s only something that really matters in the competitive scene. If you’re playing in a tournament, then you can get unlucky streak of going second a few times in a row. On the ladder, you’ll play enough games for roughly 50% of your matches to be on Coin and 50% going first, so it all evens out.
Dust Incident Explained, What Happened, Will You Get Refunds For Missing Dust, Will Crafted Cards Get Taken Back And More!
I’m not 100% sure if that’s true, but I’ve heard that a lot of the Q&A folks working for Activision-Blizzard are on a strike right now. If that’s true then it really shows.
Dust Incident Explained, What Happened, Will You Get Refunds For Missing Dust, Will Crafted Cards Get Taken Back And More!
If you’re sure about the numbers and didn’t craft anything after you got the extra Dust, you should probably contact the support (https://us.battle.net/support/en/help). They can check your account logs and see if there’s anything missing.
Like I’ve said, the official message is that they only took away what they gave by mistake and nothing more, but so many people are reporting lost Dust that there might be something to it (maybe another bug). I hope that they address it soon.
22.2 Patch Notes - Standard Nerfs & Buffs, Buddy System, Mercenaries Update, New Duels Heroes and more - Coming January 25
If the card is remade in a way that it’s hard to tell whether it’s a buff or a nerf, Dust refunds still apply. It’s even in the patch notes.
However, Rapid Fire change is a clear nerf. There is exactly one deck in Wild that runs the card and it’s Questline Hunter. It costing 2 mana makes finishing the Questline harder and then the HP refreshes slower later in the game.
Buddies Mechanic Gets Added to Battlegrounds in Patch 22.2 - Each Hero Will Get A Unique Minion - Find All The New Hero & Minion Reveals Inside!
Thanks, I’ll get to that soon!
Buddies Mechanic Gets Added to Battlegrounds in Patch 22.2 - Each Hero Will Get A Unique Minion - Find All The New Hero & Minion Reveals Inside!
I actually like to watch BG more than play it (Standard is my favorite way to play), so while not directly, the changes make it more fun for me too ๐ I’m also happy for BG players that they’re getting so much new stuff!
But then again, we’ll have a massive meta change for Standard with rotation in ~2.5 months, so that’s not very far off either.
Microsoft Will Acquire Activision-Blizzard For Nearly $70 Billion
Yeah, but it would still cost them about $70 billion to get a full card collection, so why not just buy entire company.
Sorcerer's Apprentice Might Get Nerfed in Patch 22.2 - Iksar's Teaser on Twitter
I don’t really play Wild that much (maybe like a dozen of matches per month), but I’ve heard a lot of people complaining about Ignite Mage on Twitter. Maybe not because it’s too powerful, but because it’s unfun to play against?
January 7, 2022 Hotfix - Maestra Turning Into Rogue Fixed, Compensations For Various Issues, Achievements Fixes Coming In 22.2
Good question! Both Barrens and Stormwind puzzles were added in .2 patch, so we might get one for Alterac Valley soon. At least I would hope so, because they are really cool ๐
Any Hope for Priest and Mage? The Best Decks for the Two Weakest Classes!
No worries! It’s hard to keep track of all of that ๐
Any Hope for Priest and Mage? The Best Decks for the Two Weakest Classes!
Yes, the achievement is still bugged. I hope it gets fixed in the next patch.
Any Hope for Priest and Mage? The Best Decks for the Two Weakest Classes!
You’re technically correct that Warrior is worse at the Top Legend ranks. But for 99.9% of the ladder, Questline Warrior is strong deck, much stronger than Mozaki Mage.
Top Legend meta is always its own bubble – mostly because of skill level differences, but also tech choices or matchup spread. In case of Questline Warrior, I would probably blame it on skill ceiling. The deck is very easy to play optimally and that’s why it’s so strong against lower skill players – but once you reach that ceiling, there’s not much you can improve in your gameplay while other decks (including Mozaki Mage) still have a lot of room to showcase player’s skill.
Sometimes it’s fun to look at Top Legend (just like it’s fun to look a tournament meta), but when I write articles, I generally tend to use Diamond-Legend stats – they are more “competitive” (unlike something like Bronze, where people might genuinely not know how X or Y deck function), but also more relatable to a wider audience. Of course this particular article is not mine, but I would assume that OG does a similar thing.
One More Week Until Honor Event Gets Decided, Alliance Still In The Lead
I think that his point is that he picked Horde and will get Vanndar (Diamond version) without even needing to complete the event. Assuming Alliance wins in the end, that is ๐
One More Week Until Honor Event Gets Decided, Alliance Still In The Lead
Yes, you get the Golden version of opposing faction’s leader for completing all the honor ranks (7.2k honor in total).
Hearthstone's Winter Veil 2021 Celebration Has Started! Legendary Quest Chain (6 Packs), Free Shaman Skin, Seasonal Tavern Brawls, Shop Bundles, Honor Event Update
There should be a special, separate slot for those Legendary Quests.
It used to be one of your Dailies before the UI revamp, but it hasn’t been working like that in a while.
I get what you mean, but I don’t think it’s that easy. The thing about game dev is that throwing more devs at a game won’t necessarily make it come out quicker. From my (I have to say quite limited) experience, adding too many devs to a project might even slow things down. For example, multiple devs trying to work on the same part of the code might be faster, but it will probably result in way more bugs that could take even longer to fix. You know, like in the saying “too many cooks spoil the broth” ๐
I’m not really following Overwatch 2’s development, but it looks like Diablo IV is progressing quite nicely. I’m looking at their quarterly updates and things look promising. And this one is clearly in super early stages, like they’re only creating the game’s world, story, basic mechanics and so on. Sending those devs to Diablo 4 or Overwatch 2 team wouldn’t do anything. I can imagine that by the time they actually start working on the game itself, Overwatch 2 will already release and Diablo IV will be close.
