The Best Hearthstone Expansions - Which Sets Were Most Enjoyable?
I came back to play during KotFT, like two weeks before Kobolts and Catacombs. And i gotta say that i think that expansion deserves more love.
It gave us:
1) Dungeon mode (best pve experience in my opinion)
2) Legendary weapons (special nod to Aluneth, skull of the manari and Kingsbane)
3) Spiteful Decks
4) Recruit
5) Best expansion trailer
6) Cube decks
7) Spellstone cards
8) Unidentified cards
Etc..
Even Shaman Deck List Guide - Rastakhan's Rumble - March 2019
Right now this list looks almost identical to the witchwood’s Even Shaman with the difference that it changes the 2xFire Plume Phoenix for 2xMenacing Nimbus.
I got great results with this deck (i only adjusted it a little with tech cards back then), but struggled with it since Boomsday proyect started.. (At first i was excited about the version with Arcane Dynamo but i ended up finding it too clunky)
I’ll check how it goes now..
Even Shaman Deck List Guide - Rastakhan's Rumble - March 2019
At some point i used a similar deck but with 4 overload cards and sometimes it was great (zap! and and the 2mana weapon) However it wasnt very consistent. I think the version without the overload package works better.
I’d change:
-2 zap!
-2 Thunderhead
+1 Viscious Scalehide
+1 Fire plume phoenix
+2 Tech cards (I’m using Mossy Horror + Skulking Geist)
Skaterbot
Just wanted to say that the person who wrote the review almost guessed perfectly the flavor text! 😀
Arcane Dynamo
Even Shaman is using this card a lot. this because Shaman only have 5 spells with 5+ mana, two of which are Bloodlust and The Storm Bringer so the possibility to get one of those two spells is super high (and both are odd spells that the deck can’t use any other way.. except much less consistently with Hagatha). Both are extremely powerful in this deck since it is very easy to use any of those spells on at least 4 minions. I’ve used the storm bringer 3 times now (i don’t play that much) and every time it’s been a game winning play getting at least 2 great minions like King Krush and Nozdormu to give examples. I know the meta hasn’t settled yet, but at least in Even Shaman, this card is definitely a keep (even if you are very unlucky and the discover gives you the other 3 choices, you can choose Volcano to get a reset if you got behind on the board.
Treant Druid Deck List Guide - Boomsday - August 2018
I think i like this deck. In the current meta (Witchwood) token druid can be pretty annoying to play against, and this decks seems like an even stronger version of that. Still is too early to say, but think this deck will be T1 or T2 and i’ll be giving it a try.
That said, i know this might be complaining of something that is already good (i couldn’t find a perfect translation to a phrase in my primary language (spanish) that is “Quejarse de lleno”) but, would you consider adding at the end of these guides a log of modifications? I said this because sometimes i read a guide here, and some time after, it appears in the main page as a “recently updated guide” but I can’t spot the change.
something like “2018-08-06: Boomsday actualization” or “2018-08-06: Substitution section corrected” or “”2018-08-06: Deck list big alteration” or “2018-08-06: -1xForce of Nature +1xLiving mana” would be of great help.
Anyway, as always thanks for a great guide!
Best Regards
Even Shaman Deck List Guide - Boomsday - August 2018
One of the problems of this deck, is that it doesn’t have much AOE. It relies on efficient trades to clear the enemy table. Now, sometimes that is not enough, and that is when Kalimos’s (Or Hagatha’s) 3 AOE shine.
It’s particularly good against a hunter who just used his spell stone, or a Paladin that just upgraded his recruits. In both cases, you are facing a very menacing board full of 3/3 and if you don’t have an activated kalimos or Hagatha in your hand, it can be game over. He can also be a very good finisher thanks to his 6dmg directly to face. That said, i think the deck still works without him, but i don’t think any other card fills that slot better than him. If you don’t have him, you shouldn’t craft him tho, at least not until the new meta had some time to settle (just wait a couple of weeks).
Boomship Recruit Warrior Deck List Guide - Boomsday - August 2018
Looking forward to it (the guides) !
Warrior is expensive, but is very fun, i got a Woecleaver from a pack during Kobolts and made a deck around it that wasn’t very competitive, but it sure was fun (it also runned 2x Ebon Dragonsmith. with this i sometimes got to equip Woecleaver on T5 and if that happened to recruit a Giant Mastodon or a Ultrasaur on its first hit, it was devastating.
(Most of the time it didn’t work tho, it wasn’t a good deck)
Even Shaman Deck List Guide - Boomsday - August 2018
This was my favorite deck to play during witchwood, hope it survives Boomsday (i kind of doubt it will).
The only changes i made to it were that i removed one Fire elemental around rank 5.
First i replaced it with a Skulking Geist, it was good at first but eventually i stopped getting in games where it made a difference.
So next i replaced the Geist with a 2nd copy of Hex (many druids and warlocks led me to this change) and it worked great for a while (from rank 4 to 3) but then i realized that i was rarely needing the two hexes (many times not even 1) and found myself lacking some reach, so i finally changed the extra hex for a Reckless Rocketeer and it worked great. i won many games thanks to the rocketeer and finalized the season on rank 2*** for the first time =)
Mech Warrior Deck List Guide (Dr. Boom, Mad Genius) - Boomsday - August 2018
Great guide! i really like the idea of this deck.
I would add a silence tho, cos i think that the possibility of silencing a magneticed mech will be really powerful, especially against Hunter (and I’m pretty sure there is going to be at least one, probably two, deathrattle hunter competitive decks in the meta)
Boomship Recruit Warrior Deck List Guide - Boomsday - August 2018
i’d like to try this, but ufff.. expensive deck.. 8 legendaries and 8 epics…i have like half of those but still, seems too much. Hope the more definitive version of this decks is not so legendary dependant.
I think warrior will be in a great position in this new expansion, but i believe mech warrior will be in a better position in the end.
Thanks for the great guide!
Beakered Lightning
its like a worst Maelstrom portal. =(
Useful in some situations tho, like against odd paladin, but doesn’t seem that good.
The good thing is that it can be used in even shaman, a deck that lacks in area attacks (it only has hagatha and kalimos unless u get a lightning storm / volcano from hagatha), but i dont think it will remain a meta deck after the new expansion arrives (hope i’m wrong).
Prismatic Lens
Nice card, i would play it maybe in some sort of secret paladin with many 1-4 mana spells that i don’t mind keeping overpriced in my hand and 3 or 4, 8-9-10 mana minions to play discounted on T5. Wait and see i guess but seems to me that it has great potential 4/5.
The Storm Bringer
Don’t like but maybe somethings can be done with it.. like, if you have an empty table on T9 you could do 2x voltaic burst + this to get 4 legendaries, (if for some reason you have penguins and wisps you could even make it 7 legendaries) but since they are random you could get bad legendaries or legendaries that are only good because of their Battlecry, etc… But anyway, in such a play, as long as you get one great legendary (ysera, LK, Al akir, etc) or two decent ones (Kalimos, grumble, King togwaggle, etc). the problem is that if get unlucky you could end up with Lorewalker Cho, Prince Keleseth, Tinkmaster overspark and Zola… Rating it 2/5 but maybe i’m missing something..
E.M.P. Operative
its mana cost is a little high, but i think will definitely see play considering how many good mechs (and magnetized mechs) are in this expansion.
Even Shaman Deck List Guide - Boomsday - August 2018
I have a similar issue but you have to take into consideration that this is a good thing. I mean, your enemy is spending a lot of resources (Minions, mana, health or cards) to get rid of a minion that is strong but not your strongest minion. For example, its really good if your enemy spends their hex / polimorph / Siphon Soul / etc. on this cos then is less likely they will have a response ready for your Lich king / Sea Giant / Al’Akir.
Very happy with the change to Giggling Inventor. I can now consider removing the Mossy Horror in my Even Shaman (i still might need it to deal with Spreading Plague but i’ll depend on how many druids i see in the ladder)… Interested also in seeing how will this modify some decks. For Example, the standard Odd Rogue has 2x Giggling and 2x Blood Knight. So it will have to find replacements for those cards (maybe BK for Blink Fox and Gigglings for Tar Creepers)…
In the case of mana wyrm, i agree that a different aproach might have been better, like changing it to be a 1/2 or maybe even a 2/2. making it a 2mana minion removed a lot of it.
