My Take On The New Progression System / Battle Pass - How Bad it Really Is, How To Fix It + A Few Words About Dev / Streamer Harassment
Yeah… but the old system was still awful
Best Hearthstone Decks - Standard Meta Tier List - Perils in Paradise (August 2024)
I remember before when they had hiss complaint, they said it was so that people searching for tier lists on e.g. Google could find this page more easily, as earlier (now irrelevant) lists won’t show up in the results, and also it’s probably along the lines of this page getting more “hits” and being effectively more popular than other sites (which is probably important for the algorithm) since it is always the same page each time it’s updated, as opposed to creating a new page each time.
That said, if it’s causing problems, surely they should be able to hide old comments so they don’t load by default. (Disclaimer: I don’t personally know much about making websites, but I’m fairly sure other sites have this sort of functionality)
What Will Happen to Warlock in Madness at the Darkmoon Faire - Analysis and Theorycrafted Decks
Admittedly, there are a few potential whiffs for the demon getting pulled by N’Zoth, but that might not be a huge problem with the other likely pulls.
What Will Happen to Warlock in Madness at the Darkmoon Faire - Analysis and Theorycrafted Decks
Looking at the first control deck, I can’t help thinking it looks like N’Zoth might fit quite well there too, or would that make it too top-heavy? Either way, these look like good starting points for whatever control ‘lock (hopefully) emerges, and I’m particularly looking forward to trying a build with all 4 Old Gods
Showstopper
I’d say this could be decent anti-Rez Priest and anti-Paladin tech. It looks more flexible than the more traditional, narrow tech cards like Ooze, so it could actually be a sensible choice in the right meta if you’re mainly focused on winning as much as possible. It would probably only be good in some decks though, as the symmetry could be problematic for certain decks. 3/5
Tickatus
Given corrupting a card replaces it with an entirely new card, I think there are definitely grounds to suppose that you wouldn’t need to re-corrupt it after bouncing.
Tickatus
I may be in the minority, but the ability to delete a sixth of your opponents deck (or a third in Wild) excites me. 5/5, even if somehow it doesn’t see play.
Ticket Master
Seems comparable to Fal’dorei Strider, which is pretty good. comes down a turn earlier and the body isn’t much worse, so better tempo. We may see deathrattle synergies which could help, but even without, this is decent. 3/5
Stiltstepper
Interesting design… not an actual 3-drop per se, but still only works in aggressive decks. probably typically coming down T4/5, I expect it’ll mainly be 3 mana 4 damage + some tempo as a ping is required + card draw. Seems fairly solid, decent on a contested board state, great if you’re ahead, and OK for trying to recover the board, but face-tanking may hurt. Synergy with the lifesteal weapon may be important. 4/5
Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Reveal Season Starts Today!
Looking forward to holy handgrenade (hopefully) tomorrow
Top Standard Legend Decks From Ashes of Outland - Week 8 - May 2020
Not totally related, but I don’t know where else to ask this:
A little while ago, I think I read something on this site saying that if you delibrately lose at rank floors to tank your MMR, it won’t work (i.e. your MMR won’t fall), but I can’t find that article. Could you please point me towards the source for this/confirm that I’m misremebering?
(UPDATE: LIVE NOW!) Demon Hunter Nerfs - Skull of Gul'dan, Imprisoned Antaen, Eye Beam and Aldrachi Warblades
Well said. It’s tiring to read knee-jerk complaints (almost) every time something changes, so it’s refreshing to see someone recognising the hard work that goes into this game, and it’s important to note that for all the issues we’ve had recently, overall the game is in a good state. Yes, Shamanstone happened, and yes, they’ve felt the need to instate unprecedentedly quick nerf patches, but they’ve been trying new things all year, so there’re bound to be some hiccups along the way.
The 30 Legendaries Standard (SoU)
I don’t understand the point of decks like this. Could you please explain?
Galakrond's Awakening Adventure Guide - 35 New Cards, Four Chapters, Launches January 21!
No, you pay 700 for the good side of the first chapter + 700 each for the other 3 chapters = 2800 total
I can’t help noticing that the “full build” suggested seem to contradict the recommendations in immediately preceding text (running Lilian but neither Edwin nor Jandice). Which cards would you recommend cutting for Edwin and Jandice?
