Theoretically, this is the ultimate Russian Nesting Doll plan with N’Zoth. In practice, this card is even slower than N’Zoth. N’Zoth got away with it since it could pull taunts, and it still wasn’t THAT slow. It created a board that needed to be dealt with immediately. This thing is easy to ignore, and with its high health, it’s going to be really hard for the druid to kill. I guess it + Naturalize is an option, but… that just sounds terrible.
And what taunts does Druid have that this thing will grab? Druid of the Claw, Shellshifter, Jade Behemoth, Dark Arakkoa, and Ironbark Protector… jesus, how many deck archetypes are trying to elbow their way in here? Jade, N’Zoth, C’Thun, Fandral… jesus, too many. You can kind of see why Stonehill Defender isn’t run in Druid (in part because half of its cards don’t count as taunts, but PS, despite this being an amazing taunt card it won’t ever go into a deck with this legend).
I think this card will never, ever work. Maybe Big Stuff Druid can do something with it, I dunno. Maybe this set will have more Druid taunts, but I kind of doubt that this will work.

This is really cool design, and also gives Druid a board clear option. I get the feeling that the AoE will be picked nine times out of ten, but that’s still fine. My only concern is that it may be too slow of a board clear.
Light's Sorrow
Like with the legendary, this card vastly depends on how much support Divine Shield Pally gets. In theory, popping two shields makes this thing worth it, and anything more is just amazing. Plus, since it’s a weapon, it’s more likely to stick around to see those shields pop than the legendary. One huge problem though is that at 4 mana, it competes with Truesilver, a much faster card. Maybe something happens with this card… but I currently find it doubtful. We’ll see what happens when we see the rest of the set and the Divine Support.
Corpsetaker
Another interesting option is to run it in Shaman with Al’Akir to give it Taunt, Divine Shield, Windfury.
But I have a lot of reservations about this card. The potential To draw some of the cards that fuel it, thus weakening it is high, and late game it’ll be an awful topdeck, potentially just being a vanilla 3/3 for 4. Even in the best case where Divine Shield Pally becomes a thing, I’m not convinced this makes the cut. And if Divine Pally doesn’t become a thing, this thing DEFINITELY doesn’t see play in a world where Wickerflame isn’t in Control Pally (except when hit by Stonehill Defender). Maybe Pally might want some more 4 drops, but I don’t think this is the guy.
Corpsetaker
I think people are overvaluing this card. This card will get its most value in Paladin (Wickerflame gives 3 of these and Tirion gives 2) and possibly Shaman (Al’Akir gives 3), but I’m not convinced it’ll even be worth it there.
There are so few good Windfury cards (at least ones that have it printed on the card; Dr. 3 gets it all the time though) that it’ll almost never have it (except in the possible Shaman example above). That means that its best bet is in Paladin by Hijacking Wickerflames stuff.
Now, one problem is that if you’ve drawn the cards from your deck that trigger these effects, they won’t go off. Late game, this card could be a vanilla 3/3 for 4, which is an awful topdeck. Considering that Wickerflame is a card you probably won’t mill away, it’s going to be common that you won’t hijack him. But you’ll often hijack Tirion, and let’s say the new 3/2 Charge Lifelink is in your deck for some reason, so you DO get those three off. At that point it’s a Wickerflame with +1/+1 for 1 more mana. I already wasn’t sold on Wickerflame. He hardly sees play in Control Paladin as is, which is pretty sad, so I don’t think this thing will fare much better. In its absolutely best case, it’s basically just the above +1/+1 Wickerflame, which even if you like Wickerflame, isn’t a very worthwhile trade. Pass.
Bolvar, Fireblood
The quality of this card is going to vastly depend on the rest of the set. It looks like Paladin is still pushing the Divine Shield game, and if it gets enough support this card COULD work. If you manage to pop two shields this guy is auto worth it, even if one of those shields is his own (a 5 mana 5/7 is solid). Anything beyond that is gravy.
But I’m unwilling to make a final call on this guy until we see the whole set. My final thoughts for now is that it’s probably going to be too difficult to get off consistently.
Bonemare
On the same logic of Primordial Drake and Spikeridge Steed being good, I think this will be good. If we assume Blessing of Kings is worth 4 mana (or at least Kings + Taunt is worth 4 mana), then this thing is like a 3 mana 5/5 with extra value since you’re bundling cards. I’m not sure if other classes will want it though. Paladin can use it because it has the guy, maybe Shaman could use it with totem… Taunt Warrior doesn’t really care about it because it doesn’t have natural taunt… I dunno. I think this one is borderline. This is absolutely as strong as they could make it, but I’m not sure it’ll slot into a deck well enough. On the flip side, I’m not willing to write it off as unplayable. If the right deck finds it, it’ll be insane, I’m just not sure if that deck will work.
Auctionmaster Beardo
If no one was willing to play Garrison commmander, no one will be willing to play this.
Finja, the Flying Star
This card is goofy and fun, but almost certainly bad. Killing something with 2 power after turn 5 is going to be tough, and it’ll probably only happen once, and a random murloc is probably going to be weak.
Wickerflame Burnbristle
I don’t think playing a sub-par statted card is worth this okay ability. Paladin has plenty of healing options right now, so why does it need this? Even once standard rotates, it’ll still have Forbidden healing and Ivory Knight. I mean, think about it: It’s Annoy-o-Tron, which was already just an okay card, with 1 more attack for 1 more mana and an okay ability. Maybe that makes the card okay, but it seems way too weak of a play when Pally has so much elsle it can do. IMO, probably the worst Pally legend.
Prince Malchezaar
It’s going to be bonkers in fatigue decks. We already know that being able to put cards into your deck with Elise and Entomb is pretty big, so how big is it for them to just be able to start with five more? Fatigue Warrior is going to become a force to be reckoned with, and Fatigue Priest might make a comeback.
Book Wyrm
The question is, how frequently do you play Shadow Word Pain from turn 6 onwards? The effect might be too late to be relevant, but if there’s still stuff to kill running around, this cards seems statted and costed appropriately.
Book Wyrm
Rend’s main problem is that his stat line is terrible at 8/4. 3/6 is much better for the cost. In addition, it turns out that only being able to kill legends is actually kind of restrictive.
Moroes
At a glance, it looks bad. But I think it has SOME potential. Zoo might like it because it does a great job of triggering Darkshire Councilman and Knife Juggler (As well as being Sea Giant Fuel), and it might help revitalize the Divine Shield Paladin by comboing with Steward of Darkshire. The card is at least worth testing.
Malchezaar's Imp
In a world where Voidwalker almost doesn’t make the cut in Zoo, this won’t make the cut. Even the synergy with Soulfire/Doomguard probably won’t be enough.
Malchezaar's Imp
Stop trying to make discard become a thing Blizzard. It’s never going to be a thing.
The Curator
Pally could run Murloc Knight and Dragon Consort. They might be good enough given the circumstance.
This could be the card that makes Egg Zoo great again. That being said, Warlock has crashed and burned in the current meta, and the only deck even approaching viability is Handlock. Will this be enough on its own? Probably not, but with enough support from the rest of the set, we could be seeing Zoo’s grand return.
