Living Dragonbreath
This would have been nice when we had Hyldnir Frostrider and Frozen Crusher in Standard.
Rain of Fire
I mean, we barely ever get to see Whirlwind nowadays, so not really seeing much potential here?
Squallhunter
Oh look, it’s our beloved 4 mana 7/7 who traded 2 attack for +2 Spell Damage. Spell Damage can actually be super good (Spirit Claws, 0-mana AOE spell, Zap!…) so I think this is at least as good as that card, but probably better.

Do you like Sylvanas? I can’t tell from your avatar… ๐
Parachute Brigand
I think I’ll go up to 2/5 stars, if there’s dedicated Aggro Pirate decks then yes, you will probably run a 0 mana 2/2. It is definitely better than a Wisp (which is normally horrible), and Aggro Druid did run Wisps (or Penguins, which are Wisps with the Beast tag) because of the power of Mark of the Lotus. Rogue and Warrior don’t really have stuff to buff wide boards so I’m still skeptical, but it is indeed positive tempo.
I just am unsure how good a 0 mana 2/2 that forces you to run Pirates will be in Standard. There’s a ton of stuff hitting for 2 damage in the new expansion, including AOEs. Just thinking on Shaman’s Galakrond Hero Power for example makes this card look bad.
Parachute Brigand
Patches doesn’t cost you a card in hand (unless you draw him), and everyone would run 29 cards in their deck, it makes the chances of drawing your good cards slightly higher. The only time this card is better than Patches is if you draw Patches, but pretty much every card is better in that situation, whereas Patches is really good if you don’t draw him.
I think the real assessment of this card is somewhere between a Wisp (horrible) and Happy Ghoul (great when discounted). So… mediocre? I can go up to 2/5 stars.
Ritual Chopper
I don’t think it works that way. Dread Corsair gets discounted from the power of your weapon, not your total Hero attack + weapon power.
Parachute Brigand
LOL at everyone who’s upvoting this or comparing it to Patches. This is NOTHING like Patches and I would even go as far as saying it’s a BAD card. Patches was good because it didn’t cost you a card, this DOES. The better comparison would be Happy Ghoul. And this is worse than Happy Ghoul because 2/2 vs 3/3 makes a huge difference in the early game. I can only see this being good if you have two of this in hand and a T1 Pirate. And that will not normally happen. 1/5 stars in Standard, in Wild you might still play this in Aggro Pirate with stuff like Ship’s Cannon around, but in Standard it’s just not worth it.
Battlegrounds December 5 Patch Details - 3 New Heroes (Rafaam), 2 New Minions, Lightfang Nerf, 1st Version of Stats
Just today I read some of the guides in this site (had been playing blindly until today) and realized that there’s a shared pool between all players, as you say. That explains what happened to me: if several people were going Murlocs I would have little chances of seeing what I was looking for. That’s annoying but I guess needed to keep balance in the game (if one tribe was OP everyone would force it and games would be mirrors constantly). I guess that adds the strategy of maybe pivotting out of a tribe if you see others with it, or hate-picking a card that others need.
Yeah Menagerie decks are always at least decent, especially if you get early Amalgams. My favorite ones are Deathrattle Mech ones with Baron. The problem is that Baron gets hard countered with the Windfury minion that snipes it at the beginning of the combat. ๐

I’ve been enjoying BG a ton but there’s something that bugs me a bit: does the game detect what tribe you’re going for in order to offer you less stuff from it? At the beginning of the game you decide your tribe or composition given what Bob offers. But then in the later stages of the game you roll and roll and many times you don’t get what you’re looking for. I’ve seriously been in rounds where I had two copies of two different minions looking for a triple and wasted my whole mana rolling, seeing all the other tribes but not my tribe. This makes it extra RNG since many times I feel I will win if I can get that one minion which will break my composition, but lose if I don’t. A great example of this is if I’m going Murlocs and I have a Brann: if I can find a Megasaur I probably will win since I can give my Murlocs Divine Shield (and maybe even Windfury or Poisonous), but if I can’t find the Megasaur then I just lose.

They don’t. I discovered this by trying to get 3x of the extra Murloc from Tidehunter.
Platebreaker
Where were you when another card named Reno Jackson completely invalidated another Hero Power, namely Hunter’s?
This or a similar card has always been necessary in the game, and would have avoided previous Druids and Warriors getting out of hand like they did.
Nithogg
Those are 2 iconic characters that should probably always be in the classic set. The problem is that they were just too obiquitous, fitting into so, so many decks. If the power level is high they can definitely be in Standard though.
Descent of Dragons Card Review #5 - Ancharr, Kobold Stickyfinger, Cumulo-Maximus, Zzeraku, Nithogg, Bandersmosh, Frizz Kindleroost and more!
I think Frizz will be a similar thing to Keleseth or Barnes: if you can play it on curve, the WR of your deck will spike. The problem is that you don’t always get it on curve, and it’s also a legendary, so only 1 copy. Also, I believe the decks where it will shine will need some good card draw, since once you’re in topdeck mode having a 2-mana discount most of the time means you only get an extra Hero Power that turn. It’s strong for sure but hard to see that it will be THAT overpowered. We’ll see. ๐
Frizz Kindleroost
I think there’s more combo potential for this than actually being a good card in dragon decks. The problem is if you draw this after your Malygos…
Depth Charge
This is great for decks that are very controlly and weak to aggro. Running 4x Doomsayer is good. Yes, it’s a dead draw starting from the midgame, but control decks just want to survive.
Bandersmosh
Actually. I just read that EVIL classes get 3 legendaries this expansion, since Galakrond is a free legendary. So Shaman does get their Galakrond!
Bandersmosh
I think you are totally right. 5 mana 5/5 is not the worst thing in the world. And you can get some game winning effects from time to time. It might be the exception to the rule that transforming cards are generally not good.
I liked playing Glinda alongside 0-mana Sea Giants. RIP. I think they should have just made Mechwarper not reduce cards cost below (1) – just like the Warlock Portal.
