Even Tess Rogue (LEGEND)
So the win condition is primarily random stuff from Academic Espionage? Casino Miracle Rogue?
… insta-concede vs any other Rogue.
Caravaggio's Top 50 Legend Seaforium Druid
I suspect this deck will be fairly terrible anywhere below rank 5 tbh…
The Best Hearthstone Expansions - Which Sets Were Most Enjoyable?
I think I started played just after LoE was released, around December 2015… I *think* my favourite expansion has been Un’Goro oddly – but that might just be because DINOSAURS! 😀
I quite enjoyed Big (ramp) Druid and a Quest Druid build a lot at the beginning of the expansion -> doing nutty things like dumping a Bone Mare on Tyrantus then cloning it with Menagerie Warden (after completing the quest) – 2x 16/16 Taunt creatures that can’t be targeted by spells? Yeah, why not!
Never a massively successful deck, but it was a lot of fun… and it was before Druid got the nuclear upgrade package with KoFT.
K&C had the Dungeon Run – I’m still happy to get a “Defeat 3 Dungeon Run Bosses” quest – and tools to make a Control Warlock viable. Some great tools for Rogue and the spell/secret Hunter which nobody thought would work – Spellstones were a bit hit and miss but every class bar Paladin and Rogue has had a deck that could use them.
Ok – the meta was all Cubelocks and aggro decks featuring Corridor Creeper (before the nerfs) but I think it was a pretty good expansion all round.
The Many Faces of Shudderwock: Decks for Laddering with Shaman in the Boomsday Meta
… I must just roll a Wild “Everyfin is Awesome” Shaman deck for the nostalgia 🙂
Keleseth Tempo Rogue - Boomsday October
You can also run Zillax in a slower Quest Rogue variant if you like overkill… after you’ve played Valeera the Hollow, Giggling Inventor drops 2x 4/4 Annoy-o-Trons (as well as being 4/4 itself), sooo…
Giggling Inventor > Shadow Reflection (24/24 worth of stats on the board) and if a couple of Annoy-o-Trons survive and you’ve still not won the game, you can buff them both up to 8/8 Lifesteal next turn (Zillax + Shadow Reflection) – even with only 1 it’s still 12/12 Lifesteal.
Also works with Pogo Hopper decks since the hoppers are mechs…
So while Zillax isn’t ever *needed* – it’s about the best healing you’ll get in a Rogue deck and it slots into a couple of archetypes, so it’s a pretty safe craft if you play Rogue a lot (Pally, Warrior and Hunter can also get decent mileage out of it).
The Ramp Question – Is Druid’s Flagship Mechanic Getting Out of Hand?
Quote: “I also think that the anger directed at ramping options is misplaced. The real issue is that the downsides of ramping – skipping turns and losing cards – became completely meaningless thanks to the plethora of goodies made available to the class over the course of the last year and a half.”
Amen to that.
Mid-range Evolve Electra Shaman Raven
I’ve been mucking about with something similar WITH The Storm Bringer… but to be honest, it’s a bit hit and miss; more hit than miss thankfully – it’s won me more games than it’s lost but you need to be able to generate/hold a wide board before you drop it, otherwise it’s pretty ropey.
I had forgotten about Murmuring Elly though; combined with Giggling Inventor that should be able to create just such a wide, reasonably sticky board (if you’ve not already used it with Thrall)…
Storm Chaser might be a consideration instead of the Dynamo – it costs 2 less, has the same stats and tutors Bloodlust instead of giving you a random card… but it’s possibly better with The Storm Bringer.
What Happened to the Charge Mechanic?
I suspect it’s a mechanic that was basically wholesale lifted from MtG (Haste) initially… without fully realising the impact it would have when the attacker decides which target to hit, rather than the defender choosing what to block with.
Haste is far less of an issue in MtG as even a massive Haste minion can be stopped dead in its tracks by a 1/1 token – especially if it’s got Deathtouch.
Tavern Brawl - Six-Shooter
I was doing pretty well with something very old skool…

Tunnel Trogg
Ancestral Knowledge
Devolve (deals with buff Priests and Mage’s Mirror Image)
Jade Claws
Totem Golem
Feral Spirit
“Maly Goes to Hall of Fame?” - Malygos and the Limitation of Design Space
This is what it’s like currently – somewhere between tempo and miracle; I refuse to accept it’s miracle without the auctioneer 🙂

It’s a little slower than pure tempo as it doesn’t really get going until T3 (Elekk, Hench Gang Thug or Minstrel on the Coin) – but it’s got the potential for some good swings like the classic Thalnos -> FoK or Prep -> Sprint after you’ve played a Strider (or two).
Currently, Mossy Horror is the MvP tech card for this deck – everything bar Thalnos and the Fire Flies (or Edwin if he’s silenced) has at least attack 3; it’ll clear out Giggling Inventor or Spreading Plague to allow you to gain board dominance or really push face.
However, word of warning, I’ve not played much on the Standard Ladder recently so I’m pretty low rank (16 currently) – at higher ranks this probably won’t work anywhere near as well… especially since it’s pretty weak against Druid.
“Maly Goes to Hall of Fame?” - Malygos and the Limitation of Design Space
Yeah…

That’s stats from the current incarnation of the tempo-Rogue deck I’m mucking about with on the Standard ladder; 70% win rate but 24% of all games have been against Druid (granted it’s a small sample set at the moment), which the deck isn’t great against because of the heavy stall options Druid deploys (taunts/armour).
First of that 4-loss streak was Malygos – which was a close-run thing.
2nd and 3rd were both token Druids which essentially beat me with Giggling Inventor -> Soul of the Forest.
4th, I’ve no idea – when I queued into the 4th Druid in a row I just conceded.
Tavern Brawl Duel of the Death Knights
Closest I came to losing was in a Jaina mirror match; the opponent conceded after a long game but had they hung in there I suspect they’d have won. The card draw I’d had meant I was much closer to fatigue than they were.
Though, to be fair, when I dropped the 2nd Sindragosa they were probably a little peeved.
What Cards Could Replace Hall of Famed Classics?
The parrot was never good…
… Old Murkeye in Anyfin Paladin though!
What Cards Could Replace Hall of Famed Classics?
I used to run Goblin Sapper in a sort of Mill Druid deck back in the day … synergises nicely with Naturalize.
I would definitely love to see Murloc Tinyfin and Kel’thuzard in standard; one is a cute, usable drop in the right deck (token/murloc) and the other is Kel’thu-freakin’-zad!
Call of the Void
I’m fairly sure these cards are designed with new players in mind – it gives them a chance to play a “cool” demon that they don’t yet have.
Useless for long-time players of course.
Icicle
If these new cards are designed with the new player experience in mind, why make this one Epic? Would it really be that good in Arena?
Does Quest Rogue Require Another Nerf?
^ That’s pretty much what I suspect… without the Annoy-o-Trons (which can actually be used to complete the Quest if you hide Sonya behind them), Quest Rogue doesn’t have much in the way of defence. Once you’ve completed the quest it’s possible to drop 12 points worth of stats for 5 mana – or even 1 mana if you’ve got an Inventor killed when Sonya was on the board – making Giggling Inventor incredibly oppressive.
Does Quest Rogue Require Another Nerf?
To paraphrase The Incredibles – when everything’s broken, nothing is. Wild can be such a fun/loopy clusterf**K that even the most broken things have equally broken counters 😀
I generally prefer Wild tbh.
It’s possible to squeeze a pogo into a Quest build – might not be any better but gives the option of going infinite if needed; can be useful against decks with zillions of board clears. Think I had a 16/16 Pogo against a Control Warrior in a casual game last night.
