Control's (Wild) Un'Goro Pirate Warrior - #1 Legend (April 2017, Season 37)
You forgot to mention Death’s Bite can do very unpleasant things with the Frothing Berserkers…
The Glorious Army of Silver Hand Recruits *UPDATE*
Pretty sure I ran into someone playing this last night… thankfully the Stand against Darkness > Quartermaster combo came just one turn too late for them; I was running Malygos Miracle Rogue and had the big lethal drop ready to go.
Would have ended badly for me otherwise though – sooooo many Silver Hands!
I don’t really do Paladin – but at least the guide here is entertaining ๐
Standout Decks of the Week #2 - Un'Goro Meta
I keep running into Freeze/Medivh Mages in Wild as well… but I’ve been using an old skool Mill Rogue a lot lately and Ice Block is just no defence. Mill them down to lethal and then end turn.
I’ve even milled out a Quest Priest *after* they’d done the Majordomo Executus > Amara combo…
Jade Druid is an instant concede though – they’re basically immune to mill – and aggro pirate warrior is hard as all hell even with the healbots (aggro is always hard with Mill). But overall, in Wild, Mill Rogue is not too shabby at the moment if you feel like a break from Standard.
Hearthstone Crafting Guide for the Journey to Un'Goro Meta - Legendaries and Crafts for Meta Decks!
I’m hoping he’ll make the Hunter Quest more viable… if you can work around the card draw issue to actually get him for turn 6-ish when you complete the quest.
Complete the quest
> Hemet (remove all the weenies)
> Carnassa (fill you deck with new improved weenies)
> Tundra Rhino
> CHAAAARGE with ALL THE THINGS!
The problem is getting the right cards at the right time using a class that’s traditionally quite poor at card draw – Cult Master seems to be about the best bet since you can have a lot of 1 cost minions on the board by turn 4 – if they don’t fall to AoE.
The other problem is that I’ve not got Hemet yet of course ๐
Best Hearthstone Decks - Standard Meta Tier List - The Great Dark Beyond (November 2024)
Was previously a run of terrible luck … started bad again today, dropped from 13 to 14 then started to turn it around – got to rank 12 before I got bored.
Though the highlight was a Swashburgler pulling a Piranha Launcher from a Hunter… 5/5 Piranhas ๐ Still lost (just) but it was funny as all hell.
Jade Druid Deck List Guide (Post Nerf) - Kobolds - April 2018
I’d recommend crafting Thalnos tbh … he’s not glamorous in any way but he’s just soooo damned useful in so many decks.
Quest Rogue Deck List Guide - Witchwood - May 2018
I’ve done it a couple of times when not really paying attention: -> *facepalm* -> concede.
Best Hearthstone Decks - Standard Meta Tier List - The Great Dark Beyond (November 2024)
Quest Rogue is pretty simple to beat unless they get a really, really good draw – just play totally aggressively and kill them before turn 6; and on the ladder aggro is pretty much the main.
My win rate with Quest Rogue at rank 15 was terrible last night, like 25% – I’d have probably dropped to rank 18 if it wasn’t for the safety buffer at 15 now ๐
… switched to the Bloodlust Jade Shaman I’ve been experimenting with and went up to 80% (that was only 5 games though before I called it a night – so it’s not statistically significant) .
Craft the rogue quest if you think it looks like fun (it is) – but don’t craft it specifically to climb the ladder. Like Miracle or Mill Rogue it’s either amazing or unbearably frustrating in equal measure ๐
Weghuz's Un'Goro Midrange Jade Shaman (April 2017, Season 37)
Spirit Echo seems like a really smart add now that Brann’s out of rotation – with Harrison Jones and Bloodmage Thalnos both benefiting, and being able to respawn dirt-cheap/free Things From Below it might actually work as well as Brann, if a bit slower.
Not quite as good for the combo Jade Spawns – especially from the Jade Claws – and being a spell it’s a one-shot deal, but nobody in their right mind let their opponent keep Brann on the board if at all possible.
… unfortunately I haven’t got it yet (and I burnt all my dust on Legendaries) :\
Noxious' Un'Goro Purify Inner Fire Priest (April 2017, Season 37)
Knew I couldn’t be the only one to see the potential for Silence Priest with those Razorleaves ๐

Been tinkering around with the Stormwatcher as well… if it survives a single turn it’s Divine Spirit > Inner Fire > Goodnight (16/16 Windfury) – I did manage to get the total overkill of 40/40 Windfury in a game the other day.
Abar's Un'Goro Legend Freeze Mage (April 2017, Season 37)
Think of it this way – it’s a 2 mana, 2/6 that removes a battlecry from an opponent’s minion by dropping it on the board;
Edwin Van Cleef? Ruined.
Leeroy Jenkins? Oh, there goes one of your opponent’s win conditions.
If your opponent has been holding one card in their hand for a while – odds are, there’s a reason for it. Forcing them to dump it early can really screw them up.
I play a lot of Rogue combo decks – Dirty Rat is an absolute scumbag when you’re on the receiving end. Just be careful against Handlock or Ramp Druid I guess.
Mitsuhide's Un'Goro Secret Face Hunter (April 2017, Season 37)
Agreed – there’s nothing like having an opponent try and smack your Juggler with a minion only to have that trigger Snake Trap and the Juggler kill the incoming minion with flying knives before the blow can land…
Gcttirth's Un'Goro Dragon Priest (April 2017, Season 37)
This deck should be pretty strong vs Quest Rogue… especially with 2x Dragonfire potion.
Orange's Un'Goro Midrange Hunter (April 2017, Season 37)
In some ways TBK is least useful against Taunt Warrior (of the Taunt-running decks anyway); there are 12 bazillion Taunt Creatures, yeah you can remove 1 but there are always more.
It’s more useful to get rid of the lone Ancient of War or Thing From Below that’s protecting a valuable minion behind it – Fandral or Mana Totem for instance… and there’s always Tirion.
Against, Warlock Zoo, Rogue or Mage it’s often just going to be an expensive 4/5 though.
Purify
I finally found a use for it – with a Humungous Razorleaf: https://twitter.com/ComethTheNight/status/850494481145245697
Machamp's Un'Goro #1 Legend Elemental Jade Shaman (April 2017, Season 37)
It has lost a little utility now that conceal has gone out of Standard… it dealt brilliantly with Miracle Rogue cloaked Auctioneer / Adventurer… but yeah, it’s definitely worth a single copy for ^ those reasons above.
Tavern Brawl - The Masked Ball
Yup – I played 13 games won 11 … only lost to a mage in one game because I wasn’t paying attention and walked a Sea Giant right into Mirror Image. Sea Giants are insane in this brawl and Nerubian Prophets aren’t bad but even the bog standard Ironbark Protector is pretty good because of the cost – and very few people are running hard removals (though Ironbeak Owl and Mind Control Tech are making an appearance – I’d have thought polymorph/hex would be more popular than they seem to be).
Swipe is even pretty strong to mop up the hordes of 1-health-weenies that litter the board; this is the deck I was using though I’d probably swap out Y’Shaarj, just dropped him in because ramp, but the minions he pulls don’t gain the extra deathrattle – replace him with N’Zoth or Baron Rivendare:

Bittertide Hydra
This seems to be a proper risk/reward conundrum; that’s a huge body for turn 5 – or earlier on the coin or in Druid… but it would be quite a risk to drop on the board vs Mage or Rogue that early in the game. Potentially take 12 damage from Arcane Missiles + Fireball while the Mage Nukes it.
Against Warlock Zoo it could be interesting now that Power Overwhelming is rotating out; Zoo relies on big buffs on trash mobs to remove large targets traditionally – and they can’t afford to take 8 face damage each turn. However, those little minions nibbling away at this are going to be doing you 3 damage each hit.
I think this would have to be played quite strategically – and probably not in Wild (e.g. Dr Boom, Goblin Blast Mage, Implosion – even Annoy-o-Tron).
Ravasaur Runt
Even in Wild with Living Roots, I’m not convinced about this in Beast Druid… it’s not terrible but you’ve got Enchanted Raven for 1 mana or Druid of the Sabre for 2 – and that’s a deck that already struggles to when it comes to deciding what to cut.
Hunter and Zoo and aggro decks though… yup ๐
Let’s see, I don’t have:
Shadow Visions, Curious Glimmerroot, Lyra, Raza or Elise the Trailblazer…
I guess the RNG pack-opening gods don’t want me to play Priest – then again, the 2 legendaries I got from the 50 pack pre-order for Un’Goro were Ozruk and King Mosh… I’m guessing they don’t want me to play anything viable, not just Highlander Priest.
