Spirit Echo
With White Eyes you’re better off with Ancestral Spirit … and that’s already a “thing” in Wild I’ve noticed.
Tyrantus
If I start with this in my hand vs either Mage or Warlock, I’ll keep it there just in case of Dirty Rat – I despise that card.
But with Reno rotating out I’m not sure whether Highlander decks will still be viable – they probably won’t be as popular; and it’s generally those decks that run Dirty Rat.
Spikeridged Steed
Maybe… but you have to look at what else is rotating out, including Brann Bronzebeard.
Jade Shaman is losing the Tunnel Trogg > Totem Golem opener
Jade Rogue is losing the Unearthed Raptor
Jade Druid … erm… dowp!
Paladin does get Sunkeeper Tarim which should hamper Jade decks – and we don’t know what effect the adapt mechanic will have in-play yet.
It seems that the most anti-aggro cards being created are not for Rogue, Shaman or Druid? I suspect Blizzard might have actually looked at the biggest weakness of Jade decks, aggro, and deliberately avoided given them defence from it.
Spikeridged Steed
Are we *sure* it doesn’t give the targeted minion the effect as a Deathrattle?
Druid’s Living Mana card states “Transform your Mana Crystals into 2/2 minions. Recover the mana when they die.”
– and by that it means the Treants have “Deathrattle: Gain an empty Mana Crystal.”
Cornered Sentry
Playing this against Hunter is just asking for a Scavenging Hyaena next turn – those Raptors are Beasts 😐
Tyrantus
Yeah but that’s *always* a risk you run when doing the big Aviana > Kun drop 😛
Tyrantus
If the meta slows down a bit this could be a great card in beast or ramp druid; anything with a big enough body that can’t be targeted is a pain in the bum to remove.
… and if it survives 1 turn (or you’ve dropped Aviana > Kun in wild) you’ve got some options like Evolving Spores or Defender of Argus.
I guess the dream scenario would be something like:
Aviana > Kun > Tyrantus > Defender of Argus > Menagerie Warden x2 O_o
Evolving Spores
I suspect ever fewer will be running Auctioneer when Living Roots and Raven Idol go out of rotation; so yeah, I’m not convinced by this card yet – I can’t really see a huge number of applications where this would be a definite upgrade from current Druid buffs … and I can’t see Living Mana > Evolving Spores (poison) becoming a really expensive Druid board-clear somehow 🙂
I might give it a shot in my Beast Druid deck with Verdant Longneck.
The Last Kaleidosaur
I think this is one you’re really going to need to build the entire deck around with the hope of using Galvadon as a finisher; might even be worth including Blessed Champion – if you can get Stealth and Windfury on Galvadon you’ve got at least 20 damage on the next turn with Blessed Champion; 26 with a +3 attack evolve.
… but 6 spells targeting your own minions… hmmm:
Smuggler’s Run (assuming it counts)
Blessing of Wisdom; you’ll probably want to thin the deck as much as possible to finish the quest
Blessing of Kings
Avenging Wrath (if that counts)
Divine Strength (cheap) or maybe Hand of Protection if you’re going to include a Blood Knight.
… and 1 Blessed Champion for the finisher.
With Djinni of Zephyrs or to a lesser extent Dragonkin Sorcerer, Eydis Darkbane or Fjola Lightbane this might have been viable – but they’re all rotating out.
Not a great quest for Paladin … but it would have been too easy to complete if it was for Priest.
Evolving Spores
Might be worth including one in Jade Druid since Brann rotates out – gets you even more value from your Golems… or improves the chances on the Auctioneer surviving to begin the Jade Idol death march:
Turn 6: Jade Behemoth
Turn 7: Gadgetzan Auctioneer > Coin > Innvervate > Evolving Spores
If you get stealth or “can’t be targeted” there’s a good chance of having 8 mana to play with on the Auctioneer next turn – HOWEVER with both Living Roots and Raven Idol going out of rotation, Druid is losing 2 key cheap cards that can power the Auctioneer draw; Mark of the Lotus maybe?
The Jade Idol will be in there either way though.
Hemet, Jungle Hunter
Considering the very first sentence is “I feel like this would be good in a reno-lock for **wild** mode.” I’m guessing no, he didn’t forget Reno is rotating out.
Hemet, Jungle Hunter
Not sure what you’re getting at – Destroy is not Discard, this doesn’t help with the Warlock Quest; if you destroy everything that Warlock plays that’s <4 mana… that doesn't leave a huge amount.
Terrorscale Stalker
Kindly Grandmother on 2 to Terrorscale Stalker on 3 seems reasonable to me.
Dunno about you but I’ve left the Grandmother alone before when I’ve not had a way to kill the Big Bad Wolf in hand as I’d rather take 1 damage than 3… but that’s going to be risky now.
Raptor Hatchling
He’s adowwwable!
… I’m beginning to suspect Starving Buzzard could be the Hunter equivalent of Gadgetzan Auctioneer; it’s going to be limited to 6 cards a turn as the board fills up… but could questing “miracle” Hunter (with The Marsh Queen quest and maybe Questing Adventurer) actually be almost viable..?
Probably not, but I’m going to give it a go anyway!
(if I get the required cards – I love combo decks)
Hemet, Jungle Hunter
Hunter quest was my first thought as well … it could be like a Murloc flood but with an stream of 3/2 draw a card Raptors … extremely vulnerable to a subsequent board clear but you’ve got 15 of the little blighters so that’s potentially 21 damage on the board twice over.
… and since the Tundra Rhino doesn’t get blitzed O_o
It’s a bit of an edge case, but there is some potential for a Combo hunter deck.
>>> (or you’ve dropped Aviana > Kun in wild) <<<
Yes, yes I did.
