Balance Changes Planned for After HCT Playoffs (End of May)
New vitality is all good … but as I wrote that vitality usually lasts 2-3 weeks and then it’s usual business.
Add to that the fact that Wild is broken and Arena seems to be Standard 2.0 and you have a game that isn’t that much fun right now.
Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy playing the game. But I stand with my oppinion that nerfs are and never will be a real solution.
There are lots of ideas out there – different formats, monthly bans of cards, temporary restrictions to classes … I’m not saying that those are better solutions but I think Team 5 could do better than nerfing cards. Heck, even BUFFING cards would be more innovative.

+1 The Witchwood in general needs a buff. Such a low quality expansion.
On the other hand, things can only get better as the Year of the Raven progresses. I guess …

Seriously … honestly I think nerfs won’t change anything. Of course there will be some new decks for like 2 weeks, but after that people will play 2-3 new op decks and everyone will complain about those decks.
I don’t have a solution (if I had one, maybe I’d be a well payed employee of Blizzard), but nerfs don’t solve the fundamental problems HS has right now.

My bet’s on another Hex nerf. Needs to be upped to 5.

Furyhunter's #2 Legend Witchwood Tempo Mage (April 2018)
Still don’t get it … the deck sacrifices it’s board past … idk … turn 4 or 5 and tries to finish with card draw and burn. Yet it doesn’t play Thalnos but a creature that will at best deal 5 damage once.
But hey … #2 Legend. ๐

I just don’t get that 1 Berserker … the best 2 drop for curve reasons?
How-to Beat Captain Shivers Boss Guide - Tracker's Monster Hunt Nemesis!
And on the 6th run, it was quadruple my life and as Govid said, all of a sudden it was a piece of cake.
Nonetheless not what I call fun.
How-to Beat Captain Shivers Boss Guide - Tracker's Monster Hunt Nemesis!
It’s the same as with every adventure in hardcore (or whatever it was called) mode and the dungeon run – extremely lazy programming that boils down games to pure luck.
Tried it with Tess 5 times, easy runs every time ’til facing him; all games against him where like ‘T1 4 power minion, T2 Sharptinker’s Oil T3 – T5 weapon buff minions GG’.
Didn’t see a single Reaver. And even then – what he did against me every game was attacking for the 3rd time and getting back Kingsbane / re-equiping during his turn. So … Reaver-ing him would’ve done nothing.
Not very motivating when you recognize at the start of a game that you’ve just wasted half an hour of your time.
Fire's #6 Legend Witchwood Spiteful Druid (April 2018)
Just want to point out that this is only a part of the relevant percentages – you also need to draw your Spitefuls (and Archivist, to a certain degree) before the UIs, and curving out is also pretty important for a deck that has fewer options regarding spells.
That said, I can’t play those decks. I’m fine with Spiteful Priest, because it’s really unlikely that the Spites will fizzle, but luck isn’t on my side when it comes to playing only 2 spells. Disregarding the fact that I never draw my Spitefuls to begin with… ๐
Asmodai's Witchwood Cube Taunt Druid (April 2018)
Yeah, I know that you can fetch Hadronox. That’s why the deck was built. ๐
I just replied to Mr. Stinkbug who said that Hadronox is the only target for Oakheart.
Asmodai's Witchwood Cube Taunt Druid (April 2018)
to be fair, Oakheart can theoretically fetch the golems … but I don’t think he’s a necessary inclusion. Witching hour though … endless late game value. ๐
Quest Decks in Year of the Mammoth and The Witchwood
idk. ๐ But it is a very strong deathrattle minion in a vacuum. So …
I have to admit that it’s an awful minion to revive with Twilight’s Call, though.
Quest Decks in Year of the Mammoth and The Witchwood
I’m a little confused why Voodoo Doll – possibly one of the strongest cards in the expansion – isn’t mentioned regarding the Priest Quest?
And Rotten Applebaum could somehow make up for less aoe.
Savjz's 20-Mana Molten Quest Mage (April 2018)
Disenchanting C’thun … is that approved? Would be great, never played him anyways.
Two New Echo Cards Revealed - Hearthside Chat with Peter Whalen!
As excited as I am about the new expansion called ‘The Witchwood’ … how f***ing cool is ‘Murder on the Gilnean Express’!? With Investigate and Ghostly?
Would have been some crazy Agatha Christie-Nosferatu-horror setup.
And yeah, Warpath is kinda busted. Pretty good card.
Digging into the New Arena Updates - Tips & Tricks for Power Level Picks in Arena
I might be a little picky here but Kripp said something like ‘if they do anything it will be better than doing nothing’.
They did something – and it got worse. Admittedly only for a short period of time (hopefully).
Btw what you’re describing (significantly increased average power level of cards) in my opinion is part of the new drafting system. But I might be wrong in what the definition of ‘system’ is. ๐
Happy gaming!

I hope they’ll implement odd and even search strings for filtering the collection accordingly. Would be very annoying to click through all the numbers one by one.

Sadly I miss one Book of Specters and I’ll never craft such a niche card … the deck looks superfun, though.
