It’s because the deck costs so much, so you won’t see him until later, plus the people playing it usually reach the top pretty quickly

Yeah it’s a good idea
Galakrond, the Tempest
Ehish, on paper it sounds better but with the stats split out it might be better, because that way you have more control over where the damage is going. If it was 4 4/4 Storms I would’ve liked it better so I’ll raise the Battlecry rating to 7/10

Too many highlander decks

I kinda don’t like this expansion ok much because the decks had a theme, Shaman used elements and minions form the swamp, rogue gambled for riches, priest had clerics and healers to support the injured and more. This is just dragons jammed with other random stuff, it kinda feels lazy and messy
Veranus
Alright since I’ve been doing much lengthier reviews for each card this expansion I figured I would come back for this one and share more of my thoughts on it, as I’ve had a great change in opinion on this card
First it’s a dragon, I don’t mean to rub it in but I TOLD YOU SUCKERS! HAHAHA! DRAGON HUNTER WASN’T GOING TO HAPPEN! HAHAHAHA! But seriously I was pretty sure Dragons this expansion weren’t gonna be too good, as this expansion had way too many other things going on and not enough dragons. They had plenty Dragon synergies but not enough actual cards with the dragon tag. I think beast hunter might be set, I’m thinking of a Dread Raven+Dire Frenzy Combo plus Hunting Party could fit well in there.
It’s obviously a strong card with a strong battlecry but its too far outside the midrange cost. And before you say we can’t accept the previously accepted shells that the meta exists inside let me put it this way: Hunter has shown time and time and time again from Naxxramas to Uldum, from Togwaggle’s candles to Dr Boom’s Boom Bots that it simply has never been able to play control, Hunter’s class identity (Which is an element of hearthstone I love) restricts it from dominating the late game. The only control hunter that was even slightly viable was Deathstalker Rexxar Hunter and that was a staple card of most hunter decks then anyway.
Plus once you reduce their health to one whattya gonna do? Hunter doesn’t have much AOE besides explosive trap maybe, so perhaps this could be in highlander? Highlander i guess runs Brann but Brann i feel like is straight op while this is meh.
So in conclusion 1/10 in dragon hunter as its never happening, 4/10 in highlander, and 2/10 in most others
Strength in Numbers
This is absolutely terrible, the mage quest was okay because you were guaranteed what minion you would get for only spending 8 mana on spells, this is 10 mana for a random minion.
Big deck? Druid really hasn’t had any big stuff in a while, I think blizzard learned their lesson after year of the Mammoth. The only deck I can think of that uses giants would probably be Malygos Druid and this doesn’t work well with Malygos. That’s the kind of deck where you don’t have many minions besides ones that can draw you or decrease the cost of Malygos.
People have been bringing up Ysera Unleashed but why would you do that? The good thing about that card is its battlecry and you would’ve completely disrupted the great thing about it.
Would be good a few years ago but now, I just don’t see it. 1/10
Big Ol' Whelp
Ok at first I thought that blizzard was changing their basis for vanilla stats. 5/5 draw a card? Unheard of basically. Heck even bloodmage thalnos was only a 1/1 after all.
Then I realize that this isn’t gonna keep you in the meta anymore. A basically statted filler doesn’t drive the game at this point of the game’s history, decks are in focused archetypes that don’t really reflect basic decently statted cards. Mage’s Bonfire Elemental might actually better in a sense and let me explain why: although that one requires a condition it’s a condition that fits in with the rest of the deck’s focus. In that case you wanted to be playing elementals in that deck and that was going to reward you, plus it kept the elemental chain going. Yes in pure value this is much better but Bonfire rewarded you because that was the deck you’re playing.
I guess this could work in dragon decks in classes that don’t have many dragons, I’m actually quite shocked that there weren’t as many dragons this expansion as I would’ve guessed. You need a dragon to hold and this does have okay stats but honestly I think there are better cards out there.
What about Azure Drake? You might ask. The reason why is their drastically different, that was used to get a good removal or AOE extra power and potentially drawing one if you don’t have it, or just drawing anyway, plus you got a 4/4 body which was great for the extra bonuses.
So in pre Year of the Mammoth Hearthstone I’d say this would be great, 10/10. But nowadays I don’t see it, 2/10
Ramming Speed
Guys what i meant to say is this: yes it is better than betrayal but because warrior already has such great removal this is worse
Dragon's Pack
GREAT combo with the Shaman Invoke and TWO 5/6s WITHOUT overload is incredible, even without the invoke bonus its still 5/6 stats for 5 which is still a decent card.
Token shaman even without evolve might really be powerful, especially with the overload cards this expansion and Vessina i think Shaman may actually continue to dominate the meta
Goru the Mightree
Ok I stand corrected again, I think this is a bit more of a 6/10 card, I apologize for being so unfair to treants

Galakrond, the Tempest
This is the Galakrond that I’m the most conflicted about. It has a huge power level in one aspect of it, but falls flat in another.
So we don’t know what its fully upgraded Battlecry will be but its likely that it will be “Summon 4 2/2 Storms with rush, equip a 5/2 claw” which isn’t bad for 7 mana by vanilla standards.
The problem is, the other Galakronds besides maybe the warlock won have EXTREMELY insane battlecries, while this one is just…okay. It’s not bad by any means, but not good enough compared to the others.
However there’s a great upside about this card and its the hero power. Especially for Invoke. Although evolve will be rotating out, its unlikely that the token deck is going away, especially with the Mogu Fleshaper + Mutate combo, and the all incredible Vessina+Thunderhead+Sparks combo. Token/Overload/Mutate/Aggro (I know that’s a lot) will benefit heavily from being able to summon a 2/1 every time you invoke, making it great to be spammed. And because of Shaman’s already mediocre hero power, which won’t do any good since Thing From Below is also rotating after the event, the hero power is easily and upgrade as well.
So with that in mind, I’ll give it two separate ratings: 4/10 for the battlecry, and 10/10 for the invoke/hero power.
Shrubadier
3/3 stats for two, plus the split in stats makes stuff like Blessing of the Ancients even more effective. Honestly an extremely solid card by all means. 8/10
Goru the Mightree
Yeah I guess that’s true, its honestly a card that should be included in any treant themed deck for that reason, but treants right now aren’t that good except as a secondary package in token decks AND the buff isn’t going to be super game-changing at that point in the game
I think it might work like the adventures which was a pretty cool system, though you needed gold to build decks, you could get free legendaries after buying it and this one seems to be another dungeon run
