Animated Berserker
Agreed. I like this card as it is a different twist on an existing mechanic. The question isn’t whether it is better or worse; the question is whether it adds something new that is useful. The answer to that last question is ‘yes’ as it provides a somewhat resilient body against weenie hordes (a 3 butt is great for a 1-drop) while supplying a useful effect.
Something else I think people are missing (that you allude to) is that you don’t have to have all of the minions that will benefit from this card on the table before you use it. You drop him and — turn-after-turn — he adds value until squished. He demands a response similar to Malchezaar’s Imp as it empowers the strategy, and Discard Warlock plays the imp all the time.
I see this as a solid card. It isn’t a Grim Patron, but still a decent card in the 1-slot.

No, it would work with Fandral Staghelm, although I can’t imagine why you would want to. Regardless, it appears to be the same mechanic.

“But it’s so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you: are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet or his enemy’s? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.”

This set is better than Fallen Empires was for M:tG, and Fallen Empires came out before their version of “Standard” became the norm, so everything was available. (It existed, but there were plenty of us that still played “Wild” exclusively.) There were only a couple of cards from that entire set that were worth playing at the time.
While this set is slow oriented, that by itself is not a bad thing. There are anti-agro cards in here, so everyone will be playing slower.
I like the fact that cards like this will force Hunter players to think outside their comfort zone while making it so other players can’t immediately assume a Hunter is going to go face so they mulligan for it. Cards like this add options, and having more than one viable path to victory is good, right?

Don’t play mini-beasts. There are a lot of other great low-cost minions (some that even give you card draw and synergize with N’Zoth) that Hunter could learn to use. Just sayin’
Abominable Bowman
Not really. If you play with only Savanahs and maybe Crush and a couple of other big beasts and round out your curve with non-beast minions (there are plenty out there such as minions that have synergies with secrets or deathrattles to leverage N’Zoth). I think it has potential.
Bring It On!
This is an anti-face deck card as they likely won’t have that many cards in hand if you play it early. Between this and the new Blood Razor, Pirate Warrior is going to have a harder time. It will be nice to have some anti-agro cards to work with.
Blood Razor
If Blood has to do with Lifesteal then I’m placing my bet on Paladin and Priest being the other Blood Death Knights.
Blood-Queen Lana'thel
In Wild you can pay 1 to pump her +4/+4 and do 5+ damage and heal the same for 7. What’s not to like?
Blood-Queen Lana'thel
This card will get bigger while on the field as its ability isn’t a Battlecry, it is ongoing. Thus, you can put her out and for every discard thereafter she grows. (Of course, how long she survives is another matter, but she could grow bigger over time.)

Great article! This type of content is most welcome.
The Lich King Interviews with Ben Brode!
You take cards from previous expansions (Wild) that are from other classes, reintroduce them in a new set (Cards of the Damned?) that you don’t have to buy in to as Death Knight class cards (so everyone already has many of them), and change some of the Neutral minions to Death Knight class minions.
Not infeasible, just very unlikely.
What Should We Expect From the Knights of the Frozen Throne Expansion?
Also curious to see if they retool the Warlock cards that already have this effect in the form of a spell.
If you play one while one is in your hand then this could create some interesting synergy. Maybe not a win condition, but interesting. Kinda like the mechanic Jade Druid abuses, but a great deal less effective.
