Move the rng cards that have a big variance in outcome to a “Hall of Fun” which is banned from competitive play (and maybe legend rank).
Where there is definitely a place for big unexpected moments in a card game, it can get really uncomfortable in competitive scene. I don’t know if you saw Jarla yesterday getting hit by a ‘created by’ Box generating a togwaggle scheme that almost destroyed his well outlayed fatigue plan.
Even the casters got salty.
Or when Boarcontrol got slaughtered by 3 Windlords from Conj?
No, blizzard should keep taking advantage of this randomness fun element that only virtual card games offer, but keep it in a fun environment. take it out of competitive play.

Without Peter on this one. RNG is ruining (competitive side of) the game. A little randomness is not bad, especially if you can manipulate it (e.g. only 4 beasts in deck for guardian animals) but the extreme high variance effects like card generation, box, conj, yogg, evolve,… make winning and losing ot fun or skill based.
Remember Boarcontrol getting hit in the face by three generated Windlords?
My suggestion would be to put all high variance rng cards (I am sure blizzard has stats and can find a bench mark) in a “Hall of Fun” which is banned from tournament play. They could even ban them from Legend rank, considering ranks up to diamond “fun ladder”.

Also, i hit platinum 3 doing only quests on my morgl account with only whizbang decks. I assume that the decks are getting better. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if he eventually does make his return to standard.

The cost of mind render is imho still low enough to use it I think. It is still a very good disruptive tool, taking one turn and at least one card away from the opponent.

Darn then it actually really sucks. I have it 4 * because I thought it discounted in deck… like this it’s a 2* at most… my control illidan is sad now.

I believe the soulfragment mechanism might get hit by a nerf in the first month or so. I think they’ll change the health buff from 2 to 1 as to keep the base cards the same. It feels kind of overturned as is.

I am really disappointed they didn’t again go for a year long story arc like last year. That made the expansion much more interesting and it doesn’t ask for a lot of extra work. Above all, Illidan and the new class really opened a lot of inspirational possibilities.

For those interested, I added my own wild demon hunter deck. Hit 1000 wins yesterday and since ashes legend every time and rather fast. I am a 100% mobile player and have a job, so I am living proof that you don’t have to spend 8h a day to make it. ๐

Pirate DH is going like a train. tonight I’ll hit the 1K wins. Looking forward to playing anything but Demon Hunter next month.
Also, this new ladder system is way too easy. I had tried hitting double legend for over a year, and with the new system, I already reached it two months in a row.

I love priest in general. It is just highroll decks i dislike. So mostly evolve shaman, rez priest and cards like yogg, reno heropower and puzzle box. I feel those cards make the game worse than for example MtG or LoR.

I hate rez priest since it is mostly about high rolling in wild. When I play it either winning or losing with it, it never feels like it was because of how I played, but because of good or bad rng.

I have changed my wild deck a little, adding more pirates and ship’s cannons following the last nerfs. 60 more wins to go and I can say DH goodbye for a while.

Spot on with the predictions, especially the last one. I have been playing 9 different builds again (6wild, 3 standard) and I am getting more and more impressed with more control like builds. Both in standard and wild I have a positive wr with highlander decks featuring elysiana. I will, after the nerfs, probably check out if non highlander versions might work better.

The interaction switching between 2 heropowers is logical and happened a lot before, remember tank up for 4 + 7 boom armour? Or, to the extreme, the DK Uther OTK. The weapon is very strong indeed, but since you can only go face once, it is not too OP I think.

So last month I played legend in both formats playing tempo decks.
This resulted in me getting really sick of playing the same deck the whole month. Now I switched to 6 different decks and alternate between them after every loss. It is a crappy but fun Nomi experiment, a midrange highlander, a fatigue control highlander, 1 aggro and 2 odds I picked from the net to keep my win rate somewhere around 50%.
About 300 more wins to go!

As said, I am joining you on the journey to 1000 wins. I have only played demon hunter since hour one. Momentarily I am around 280 wins and hit legend in both standard and wild for the first time, which has been one of my long term personal hearthstone goals for a while now. I experimented with Murloc DH and highlander in standard but made legend with a regular tempo build.
In wild I played a lot of games with a heal zoo DH, keleseth agro and togwaggle experiments but I have been most successfully with this list:

I am probably going to try and find a way to make highlander work in Wild. I am still looking for a consistency wincon though.
