Tombs of Terror Strategy Guide - Chapter 2: Scorching Dunes - K'zrath, Plague Lord of Madness
Does anyone know how the ‘Silentstone’ (don’t know the english translation yet; the 0 mana thing that lets you flee to the tavern) works with Plague Lords?
Hearthstone’s New Highlander Decks Are Nothing like the Old Ones
Already tired of Zephrys plays across both formats. Don’t get me wrong, cool card (crafted it golden 😉 ), but the power spike is too high and most of the time, the outcome is pretty ‘boring’ (read: obvious).
Besides that, I’m not so sure I like the fact that a single card can turn bad matchups into good ones.
(Wild) Evolve Shaman - #1 Legend (Jaehyuk)
Dudes, really? Deleting comments because they got good links to good websites?
The Best and Worst Parts of the Uldum Meta
Good article and mostly on point.
One thing about ‘If your deck began with no duplicates …’ – I’m pretty sure that in the end, this would cause more problems than it would solve. For an example, just think about Brann Bronzebeard and Baleful Banker. All of a sudden, you could have tons of duplicates of your power spikes, and they would all go off no matter how many of them are in your deck.
Of course this is a Wild thing, due to Brann. But there are clever people out there who would abuse this wording in every format.
Analysis of the Saviors Of Uldum Nerf Patch (August 26)
Actually, as a Wild player, getting Barnes’d and the fetched minion is Ragnaros is the best case scenario when playing with a deck that contains some minions, because most of the time, you can just ignore the Firelord, play more minions and attack the Priest down.

I really dislike readjusting Extra Arms to 3 … yes, right now it is very good, but without it, Priest once again will be in a very tough spot in Standard. Oh well, maybe it’s Quest Priest, then.
Highlander Mage - Saviors of Uldum - #22 Legend (Asmodai)
12 Legendaries … I know it’s a HL deck, but still.
Zephrys the Great Guide - Everything you need to know about the best Hearthstone card ever
And before THIS gets commented … I’m stupid and my Wild dreams got smashed. Only Basic and Classic … yeah, should’ve remembered that. :/
Zephrys the Great Guide - Everything you need to know about the best Hearthstone card ever
And before this gets commented … when you’ve already drawn him, of course.
If not, then it depends on the board state which of the two remaining cards is the best. 😀
Zephrys the Great Guide - Everything you need to know about the best Hearthstone card ever
Sure there are situations where the outcome isn’t as obvious as Fireballing your opponent at 6. And yes, Zephrys not concidering all available data is a thing.
Nonetheless, as the Fireball example shows, in most cases there is one best card – it just might be less obvious which one is it. 😉
I think psychology is a big part of the discover process – on one side, we can be sure that Blizzard would be cursed a million times if the one card Zephrys gave you didn’t save the player. On the other, people like to have the illusion that freedom of choice is in their own hands. So choosing is more satisfying.
Ah, what fun this card will bring to Wild – getting offered Reno Jackson, Tree of Life and Nozari against the Aggro opponent … (Reno is the best card, btw 😉 ).
Zephrys the Great Guide - Everything you need to know about the best Hearthstone card ever
I wonder … why ‘discover’? In (almost ?) all situations you describe, there is always one best card … so why 2 other choices? Is it supposed to be a test to proof that the player actually recognizes the best card? I mean … why take any other card than Fireball with the opponent at 6?
Nonetheless, Instacraft on day 1 if I don’t open him or get him.
Hearthstone Update – August 1 – Saviors of Uldum
No, they don’t (at least on my Windows Computer). If I click on ‘produce’ (what’s it called in English? :D) I can filter for Uldum, but no results are shown. In my collection, Uldum isn’t even chooseable when filtering.
Armagedillo
Aah. Thanks for clarifying!
Currently I’m drooling over Wild (Old) Quest Warrior. This card will really push that archetype.
Reno the Relicologist
This might be nitpicking but … Original Reno is always referred to as a ‘win condition’. Wasn’t it more of the ultimate survival tool to give time for executing your game plan?
I mean, how many ladder games where actually won by PLAYING Reno Jackson? Sure, there are the rage concedes … but as an aggro player, I killed off many Reno Mages / Priests / Warlocks after they played him.
Besides that, very elaborate writing on your part.
Dinotamer Brann
If Bombs turn off the Highlander effects (and why shouldn’t they) then, sadly, in Standard all is lost from the start for those decks, even if the payoff is as good as Brann’s.
You know what happens if your opponent executes his game plan by killing yours …
Sir Finley of the Sands
A midrange card, in my oppinion. The Highlander nature destroys any hope for aggro and it’s too weak for a control Paladin.
Midrange is a bit different – because midrange decks can adapt best, they could get the most of upgraded Hero Powers at any stage of the game.
As we all know, the existance of successful Midrange decks mostly depends on the Meta.
I’ll rate Sir Finley 3/5 for now.
Tavern Brawl - Blackrock Crash (Week 2)
The bad part about this brawl is that with Robes, it doesn’t matter which villain you choose – you just stomp the bosses.
So, this was really boring to play (again) with Rafaam – good prices, though.
Played 2 runs on Heroic, picking the deck that already has 3 secrets in it.
Both runs ended with at best 5 secrets in the deck and a totally useless Signature Hero Card (well, at least it’s a 5/5 for 4, I guess).
I even picked suboptimal buckets with cards like Spellslinger in desperate search for additional secrets.
And even if you manage to build that deck: You have to draw and play your secrets AND draw and play Madame Jr. afterwards. Okay, the Lord game goes long, but I’m not so sure if you’ll have time for such shenanigans.
So I assume that it’s very hard to assemble and that you’ve gotten incredibly lucky. 😉
