Balance Update 21.3 For Constructed - 5 Nerfs, 7 Buffs, 1 Rework, 1 Ban - Releasing Tomorrow (September 21)
Glad to see the HP mage buffs, that’s a deck I really want to be viable
Can Control Decks Return to Hearthstone in United in Stormwind?
I would say FDH isn’t really a combo deck per se – whilst it’s highly synergistic, it plays more like a slow midrange deck with a flexible burn finisher, and is occasionally able to win the resource battle. It can rarely even muster a full OTK, so I’m not sure it fits cleanly into any of the traditional categories.
Two Warlock Balance Changes Coming Next Week (August 31), Potentially More Later in September
If you’re looking for a control deck to play, I can recommend Fel demon hunter from personal experience, it seems pretty strong so far and is quite fun to play (I’ve been using VS’s list). I’ve also seen quest Shaman described as control, and that’s supposed to be one of the very best decks at the moment.
21.0.3 Balance Update - Eight Constructed Card Nerfs + Five Battlegrounds Hero Buffs - Coming Tomorrow (August 17)
I wonder whether a more midrange build of Lifesteal DH could emerge here, with Il’gynoth playable as a threat in it’s own right, rather than exclusively a combo piece?
United in Stormwind is Now Live! Happy Expansion Day Everyone!
Just chance probably. How many did you open?
Cornelius Roame
Yup, seems pretty mad tbh. Are there any current draw engines which you’d say are comparable?
Bolner Hammerbeak
Oh no, I can absolutely see that that’s how it will work, I just didn’t quite think of that interaction.
Shadow Priest Returns: What’s the History of the Archetype and What to Expect From It in United in Stormwind?
Fair enough, they probably just didn’t bother updating it
How Stormwind's Questline Cards Tell the Story of the Mercenaries
Whilst, as you say, explanations aren’t necessary, the flavour text for Varden’s card does provide some interesting context for their identity.
Shadow Priest Returns: What’s the History of the Archetype and What to Expect From It in United in Stormwind?
Um, yes it is?
Wickerclaw
Even druid loves this, maybe pounce could be enough to make this usable in Standard in a quest deck.
Voidtouched Attendant
They’re really trying to push aggro Priest then, huh? 5/5 in literally any other class, but I’ll have to give it a tentative 3.5/5 in Priest.
Raid the Docks
Fascinating… they seem to be pushing a rather slower take on pirate warrior. I’m half tempted to predict a flop, but I hope it works. 3/5
Composting
Fairly sure Wild aggro druid will want to try this, and it will wither work very, very well or be utterly useless.
Questline Handbuff Paladin
Looks quite interesting, although perhaps a lower curve than I might expect. Is Lothraxion really so important as to run so much high end card draw to try to dig him out? Would it really not be worth running Alex instead of, say, Cornelius or one of the 4-drops?
Final Showdown
Between Skull of Gul’dan and potentially new tradeable cards, I don’t think Glide will be necessary (or good for that matter, since it likely cuts out some of the cost reduction and card advantage, so it may massively devalue the early parts of the quest)
Final Showdown
I’d completely forgotten about the new mechanic (as I often do, it seems), if we get some worth running in DH, possibly this could be worth running in a higher curve deck to exploit the cost reduction… either way, I’d be curious to see what Lifesteal DH makes of this, although it might be unnecessary and the reduction in early consistency might be too painful.
Final Showdown
You can have up to 14, but only in completely ideal circumstances and I can’t be bothered to figure out the most likely outcome.
Quite possibly, but we’ll see. Even if it only hovers around 50% ish, I’ll play some version of the deck, and with seedlock getting booted out of Wild, LPG mage may well be worthwhile again.
