Ghastly Gravedigger
Aggressive stats with a good battlecry, only issue is it’s attached to Secrets which we have yet to see, so can’t really offer insight as yet. If secrets are playable for Rogue, this card is an easy 4 *s
Commander Ulthok
my brother in christ blizzard makes a lot of cards that are just bad regardless of what their intentions were
Commander Ulthok
*play aggro*
*opponent plays 4 mana do nothing*
*play your minions out & pressure face*
*Opponent lets you spend your life on finishing them*
*play Mr Smite & kill them*
Don’t take the bait on this card. It’s shockingly similar to Temporus, another card that read “Battlecry: lose the game (unless you’re going to win anyways, in which case this card makes you win extra hard”.
Mass Polymorph
no this card is much more powerful than wave. polymorph/hex really screw with game plans/powerful minion effects, AND it’s also a permanent wave. this card is an easy 5/5.
Spirit Guide
holy shit a tempo minion with 2 targeted draws? 5/5 in a vacuum. no idea the meta ahead. card is nuts tho
Final Showdown
completing the 5 draw turns with Skull & tradable is going to not only further you in fatigue but also make you incredibly reliant on hitting those cards. I think Glide actually is necessary because it functions similarly to how Plot Twist did in Quest Warlock decks. Whether or not Glide is good is to me the same as whether or not this quest is good: DH may or may not be effective in using 2 mana discounts on every draw. What is clear to me is that this quest does not cleanly fit into any of the DH archetypes we have right now.
Final Showdown
So this card necessitates you run Glide, as that satisfies 5 cards in one turn without completely drawing your whole deck out. I kind of get Plot Twist Warlock vibes from it. This could be sneaky strong, keep an eye on this card. Could have a few tradable cards in the deck for some consistency as well; I think it’s just good. It could be really disruptive for DH against opponents if you’re outcasting Glide, or maybe 4 mana progress your quest just isn’t going to cut it. We’ll need to see how DH can really abuse mana cheats though.
Persistent Peddler
here’s that 4 drop DH was looking for in the Deathrattle deck. I don’t think it’s broken but I do think it’s maybe better than that 4/3 that turns into a weapon.
Oracle of Elune
I think the coin + foxy + shadowstep+foxy+shadowstep+foxy+Edwin might be a little more broken, but really we’re splitting hairs here. Both are absurd starts to the game.
Sigil of Silence
Fair point about Rustwix not being shut down; I think my broader point stands though, that you use this card to effectively shut out the opponent for a turn where you can set up lethal or overwhelming board states. The fact that it’s 0 mana means you can fit it into every single archetype–I almost think this is as problematic in an aggro deck as Mana Burn could be.
We still need to see how the meta shakes out, but I will not be surprised if this card is integral to DH lists that become viable.
Sigil of Silence
Without knowing what the meta will be, all I can say is this card is so unbelievably powerful and what it offers to Demon Hunter is unreal. This is in essence a 0 mana frost nova against decks that rely on cards with attached effects. Libram Paladin? Kiss your buffs goodbye. Rustwix Warlock? No more Primes. Spell Damage minions? Poof.
Seeing as the list of things that have been leaked so far SEEM to indicate aggro will have a pretty rough time in the future, I am leaning towards this card being absurdly strong. Sigil of Silence is one of those cards that will suck for bad players but good players who know the meta can play FOR FREE at the right turn to essentially lock down whatever an opponent wants to do. If you think your opponent is going to play a high impact minion with Taunt or Deathrattle or some crazy effect, you play this the turn before and then do whatever else you want because you’ve delayed their power play.
This card should have a mana cost to it–0 mana makes it ridiculous. 4 stars, maybe 5.
Veteran Warmedic
I am hearing Librams are going to be Holy spells, so IN THEORY, post Liadrin, you can potentially play a 4 mana 21/23 across 7 bodies, with up to 18/18 of that having life steal. That’s one hell of a late game board.
Still not sure if this card actually makes the decklist for Libram Pally or not, but the fact that Liadrin can enable this card to do some ridiculous things is definitely something to take a look at…
This could be 3 stars but see no play, or it could be 5 stars and break the meta. Really not sure.
Bru'kan
Considering Doomhammer Shaman looks like it’s only losing Lava Burst, I can see slotting this card in as a replacement. It trades mana efficiency for a 5/4 body, and you can pair this with the 2/3 Spellburst minion to throw 12 damage from Lightning Bolt at your opponent’s face on turn 8.
I think this makes lists; +3 Spell Damage on an aggressively statted body is not bad for 5 mana.
Core Set 2022 Guide - How to Obtain It, How it Works, Full List of Cards
I sort of expect Paladin to be Meta with this. It’s not losing anything important to rotation/core set, and all signs point towards aggro weakening with the losses of Eviscerate, (S)Kill Command, and Sap. Whirlkick Master will rotate, which was one of Broom Paladin’s weaker matchups. Yikes, we’re in for a slow meta; hopefully Warlock is strong enough to contend.
Druid of the Plains
I think, importantly, this card needs to be viewed in the context of Guardian Animals. Spending 8 mana to do 7 damage to 2 minions (or 1 big one) and then getting 12/14 taunt is really strong. Without Guardian Animals, I think this card is probably like a 2 or 3 star card because it’s expensive and not really enough of a payoff for ramping 2-3 turns instead of developing board; but this card is really strong when packaged with another big beast in Guardian Druid.
4/5
Peon
I think it’s kinda good. Reminds me of Babbling Book and that card was often played as a 1 mana 1/1 that did the same thing as a battlecry. Realistically, how many classes are going to be silencing this/will Shadow Word: Pain be in standard/played? I see this as a pretty reliable 2/3 generating a class spell, which is pretty good for a lot of stuff.
Is it a meta-breaker? Probably not; but will it be played? I think so.
I’m gonna go with 3/5.
Sunscale Raptor
It’s a 1/3 beast which against most classes WILL get the buff. Any hunter deck will probably run this purely because 1 mana 1/3s with upside and tribal tags are usually very good and very versatile.
The Pogo comp doesn’t fit in my opinion. Pogo was a 1 mana 1/1 that you needed to play other cards to make it big, and it was just too slow to get pogo to work. This card is a standalone card that triggers itself and isn’t meant to be a win condition but just a strong tempo play w/value attached.
Sunscale Raptor
EDIT: It goes from 1/3 to 3/4 to 5/5 to 7/6 etc.
My bad math doesn’t change my evaluation.
Sunscale Raptor
I don’t really get the hate for this card. It’s a 1 mana 1/3 Beast, which is great on curve, and then when you top deck it later (after it dies), it’s a 3/4, and then a 4/6, and so on.
1 mana 1/3s are historically very good in Standard; 1 mana Beasts are generally good in Hunter; a 1/3 Beast in Hunter has always been good, and this is better than previously comparable minions.
I see zero reason why this isn’t a 4-4.5 star card. Combines with Skill Command well, plus provides early tempo with a lot of value.
All y’all are evaluating this card so wrong. This is an easy 4.5-5 star card. Combo it ONE time and it’s a 3/4 with a 6 damage weapon. Combo it twice & it’s 9 damage.
*Prep + Recon+ Coin + Draka* = boom 12 dmg weapon with 3/4 body & value in hand. Stupid.
Even if you do ^ without the Coin on turn 4, it’s a 9 dmg weapon for value and a nasty t4 play.
God forbid you tempo this minion out, you get either a 3/4 on 3 with a 2/3 weapon (coining it out), or a 3/4 on 4 with a free 1/3 weapon. It’s an auto include in nearly every single Rogue deck.
Late game post Scabbs, it gives you another source of damage to close out games.
Giving it 5 but it’s not at all lower than a 4.
