Tavern Brawl - Aviana's Night
I don’t like any of the posted lists as they don’t contain enough 1-drops and 2-drops, so you end up playing only one card per turn. I think the best lists should contain about 20 big cards and 10 cards that cost 2 or less, for extra stuff to do besides your one free card per turn. For example, something like this:
### Brawl Deck
# Class: Druid
# Format: Standard
# Year of the Wolf
#
# 2x (1) Free Spirit
# 2x (1) Glacial Shard
# 2x (1) Lingering Zombie
# 2x (1) Peaceful Piper
# 2x (2) Groovy Cat
# 1x (7) Lor’themar Theron
# 1x (8) Cenarius
# 2x (8) Miracle Growth
# 2x (8) Nightshade Bud
# 1x (8) Ozumat
# 2x (8) Party Crasher
# 1x (9) Alexstrasza the Life-Binder
# 2x (9) Insatiable Devourer
# 2x (10) Convoke the Spirits
# 1x (10) Deathwing the Destroyer
# 1x (10) Neptulon the Tidehunter
# 2x (10) Stoneborn General
# 1x (10) Thaddius, Monstrosity
# 1x (10) The Jailer

Most Important Cards Rotating Out in 2023 (Year of the Wolf) - Part 1 (Neutral Cards)
No Brann combo really stands out? Quest Druid, which is the #1 deck in the game right now (sharing that spot with Miracle Rogue) and an absolute meta warping deck, uses him as its win condition to deal 56 damage as soon as it gets to 11 mana. Great writeup otherwise.
The New Arena Leaderboards Are Broken – Here Is How They Could Be Fixed
I like all these ideas except the last one, which I hate. It basically rewards people who play more rather than those who play better. It’s already difficult for most players to even get 30 runs in to make it to the leaderboard. If they then have to play even more just to be able to keep up with those who have the time to get more runs in, you’d basically kill the whole thing for the vast majority of the playerbase.
Hearthstone Balance Update 25.4.3 Coming on Thursday - 3 Standard & 2 Wild Nerfs + 9 Battlegrounds Changes
Durability to 2 barely affects it, because if you play it on 3, the game is likely over before turn 7 anyway and you don’t get to do it 3 times. Either the cost goes up to 4, or it transforms instead of killing along with a change in cost or durability.
Gnoll to 11 completely kills evolve shaman as a deck, so I don’t think they’ll do that. Still, it’s egregious enough that they might, since it’s hard to find a good way to nerf the card.
Mind Sear
Priest has an amazing burn card, the new undead card coming out in this miniset. Like I said, this card is meant to go in an aggro deck. You don’t need 30 burn when you ‘re doing 25 through minion damage. You just need the last bit to get over the hump if your board gets cleared. This new spell is a great aggro card and if some kind of aggro undead priest becomes meta (which it looks like it will), this will definitely be part of it. And it’s much better the way it is than the other way around, which wouldn’t represent nearly enough damage to the opponent’s face.
Mind Sear
It also does a turn 2 or 3 OTK in wild, but I’m sure they’ll fix that very quickly.
Mind Sear
These cards have two completely different purposes. This isn’t a card for a control deck, it’s a card for an aggro deck and it’s there 100% for the face damage, the minion damage is just a nice bonus.
Shambling Chow
This card would be played in any aggro deck that can have access to it, even without rush. It looks very much like Flame Imp and functions in the same way. Every aggressive Warlock deck ever that has had access to Flame Imp has played it, and the same will be true of this card for DH. Aggro decks don’t care about taking damage to the face and are all about taking the board early and snowballing that into a win. This card is perfect for that! Aggro DH will play this card for sure and it will have by far the best mulligan winrate in the deck. The only question is whether the meta will allow aggro DH to be good again. It was earlier this expansion but unholy DK would probably need a nerf or two for that to be the case again.
Rivendare, Warrider
I think this is very rarely a pick in Arena. A 6-mana 6/6 that shuffles other 6-mana 6/6s (even though the last 3 also have a keyword each) into your deck is pretty mediocre and usually one of the other 2 legendaries offered against it will be vastly superior to this.
I also don’t see this card being played in any constructed deck, except a fringe, low-tier combo deck that’s able to consistently draw and kill all 4 horsemen. It’s a fun meme card, but not really competitive in either mode.
Frost Queen Sindragosa
This would likely fit into rainbow DK, but rainbow DK is a tier 3 deck that’s already dying off. There’s no way this spawns a frost + blood archetype, there’s just not enough synergy for it.
Rivendare, Warrider
Not just silencing the 4th, but transforming any of the 4 cancels it as well. Which is why in order for the combo to work consistently, the player needs to kill off all 4 of his horsemen by himself.
Rivendare, Warrider
A combination of 2 Lightning Bolts and/or Frostbites could do it, but that seems inefficient and I don’t see another way to ensure a kill on Rivendare.
An alternative would be just adding Rivendare and From De Other Side to evolve shaman and use him as an alternative win condition if Rivendare ends up dying.
Rivendare, Warrider
From De Other Side wins the game on the spot if you have them in hand. The problem is drawing them in time. You could run very few, big minions (as in current evolve shaman) and draw them with Prescience. The last piece of the puzzle is how to draw, play and kill Rivendare in the first place.
Hearthstone 25.2.2 Patch Notes - 25 Constructed, 17 Battlegrounds and 31 Duels Balance Changes + Bug Fixes
Nothing to do with being cheap. They refunded Ara’lon twice after nerfing related cards, without batting an eye. Maestra is still probably a mainstay in Thief Rogue and very much playable, you just don’t put it in Miracle Rogue anymore, where it didn’t even make sense. The reason they nerfed Gnoll is because it was dumb for that card to consistently cost 0 in a deck that isn’t even interested in playing cards from other classes. It’s a very good nerf and it’s good that they didn’t touch Maestra, which is still a fun card for players who like to do wacky things.
Hearthstone 25.2.2 Patch Notes - 25 Constructed, 17 Battlegrounds and 31 Duels Balance Changes + Bug Fixes
It’s a neutral card, not DH. It’s Sir Finley. And because the hand is exchanged, the cards don’t count as being drawn (not just for the purpose of this quest, for anything that requires drawing). The same was true for the rogue spell that would replace your hand with 5 cards (nerfed down to 4) from your deck.
25.0.3 Patch Notes - Sire Denathrius & Shockspitter Nerfs, Patrons Temporarily Banned (Update: Unbanned Now)
You have no idea what you’re talking about if you think there are “hundreds, if not thousands” of people working solely on Hearthstone. As someone who’s been working in game dev at half a dozen different companies, I’d estimate there are likely no more than about 40 to 60 working on a game like this. And if you think they’re not already working as hard as they can and aren’t passionate about making the game the best it can be, again, you don’t know anything about game development.
Lingering Zombie
My favorite card of the set. I love its effect, I love the art and the idea of losing the arms. It’s just too bad about the missed opportunity on the flavor text. A minion that’s still fighting after losing both arms should clearly have flavor text that says “it’s just a flesh wound!” (if you don’t get the reference, look it up)
Improved Redundant Card Handling - Rerolling Duplicate Cards If You Own Golden Version
It’s a popup when you claim the card, so no.
The party crashers though have been completely useless and should probably be replaced, though I’m not sure what with.
