Spiteful Priest Deck List Guide - Witchwood - May 2018
Good point. Acidic Ooze could work..it would also mess up Aggro Paladin just a bit..and 3 2-cost aren’t bad, so I could just put 1 Acidic Ooze and one Spellbreaker. I guess that’s as good as it goes.

I don’t really want to include Shadow Ascendant, but still want to keep Netherspite Historian in the deck. Any good substitutes for Shadow Ascendant other than Faerie Dragon? I really only have two empty slots for this deck and I haven’t even added Spellbreaker.
Best Hearthstone Decks - Standard Meta Tier List - The Great Dark Beyond (November 2024)
May I assume since you’re playing “Face Hunter” that you’re not a fan of “long, strategic plays”? You see, you contradict yourself by complaining about an aggressive-oriented meta filled with value cards like Bonemare and Corridor Creeper while your own personal playstyle is aggressive-oriented tactics that rely on said cards. To complain about it is vanity since you’re not doing anything about it. Play Cube Warlock. Play Highlander Priest. There are good control-style decks out there that will provide you with longer games and strategic plays.
I find this meta quite balanced, honestly. Yes, it’s more or less an aggro-fest, but these decks are a far cry from what we used to have. They’re beatable if you know the game and that’s how they should be! I climbed to rank 5 last season and from the looks of it I’ll be doing the same this season as well with Cube Warlock. My matches almost always go past round 10 because I know how to stall against aggro. As for the “strong starting hand” point, that’s true with every card game. You can’t take the rng out of a card game. In my case, a strong starting hand would be a Mountain Giant on turn 4. The majority of my deck tops above 5 crystals and I assure you, I win most of my games without being lucky becayse I practiced enough and learned how to beat these meta decks.
I don’t think you have the right to complain about the meta being “unbalanced” since you’re making use of these unbalanced aspects.

Well…there were decks that recquired no skill at all. Today’s aggro decks are “fair” in a sense, but let’s go down to memory lane and remember Aggro Shaman and the old Pirate Warrior. I don’t think I need to convince you guys, but those decks were true “autopilots”.

I’m surprised Cube Warlock is tier 2. I’m no legend player, but I find it pretty easy to beat any of the decks listed on tier 1 provided I don’t get incredibly unlucky. The only match I usually find difficult is Aggro Paladin.

Daily* forgive me, I was absent-minded.

I thought the problem was that quests were merely been delayed. Has anyone actually missed a Dayly Quest completely?

Because everyone’s too busy running Spell Hunter.

I would recommend a Secret Hunter build. I’ve been running one for the past few days with no epics and just Deathstalker Rexxar and it shows a lot of potential. It’s aggressive, but not cancerous.

Maybe I’ll finally get that Anduin Death Knight I’ve been wanting forever. Then Razakus Priest won’t be so expensive to make.
Regretfully, Gul’dan is essential. This deck is defined by card interactions with Carnivorous Cube, as the author says, but your end-game is Gul’dan.
You see, Gul’Dan allows you to trade resources (like your army of Doomguard clones) efficiently, stopping your opponent from furthering his gameplan. Why? Because even if you trade all your Doomguards, or your Faceless Manipulator Doomguards and all your Carnivorous Cube-generated Doomguards to keep yourself from dieing, Gul’Dan will still provide you in the end with an OTK by bringing everyone back.
If you don’t have Gul’Dan, I find it a bit pointless to try running this deck. :/ It will reduce your winrate by too much. I’d suggest either craft him (which is safe to do, he is a must in Warlock decks and will stay in Standard for a while) or just try running a different deck instead.
