Mech Deathrattle Hunter Theorycraft Deck List – Rise of Shadows - April 2019
Update: Played from Rank 5 to Rank 4, went 8-3. Put in Hatchet for Deadly Shot.
Did great against anything aggro and mid range, had to play around lots of stuff against control (Shamans and Warriors mostly).
Very fun deck, we hope to do a in-depth guide wants the meta dust settles!
Tempo Mage Theorycraft Deck List – Rise of Shadows - April 2019
I hesitate to play minions with “just good bodies” in a tempo-based deck. Almost every card in this deck should be able to build up tempo; in a vacuum, Underbelly Fence would be a perfect example for that. If Spellbook Binder would read” If you have Spell Damage, gain +1/+1″ I would instantly play it in every iteration of Tempo Mage.
But in the end, card draw doesn’t equal tempo. A great exception to the rule was Aluneth, because you only needed one card slot for infinite card draw, and that made Secret Tempo Mage an absurdly broken deck.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t try those cards out, please do! This list is a theorycraft after all, and so are you comments about it 🙂

You basically hit the nail on the head already. 🙂 When I started with this list I had Animal Companion as the classic early to mid game board pressure tool which later got switched out for Deadly Shot.
As it turns out, Zul’jin doesn’t need to fulfill his Spell Hunter role as a ridiculous jack-of-all-trades power swing card.
In a best case scenario we cast Nine Lives two times, which nets us two minions on the board and two cards in hand, and double Deadly Shot. That way Zul’jin turns into a fairly decent and consistent hand refiller and board clearing tool, which gains us 5 Armor and a better Hero Power as well.
You can definitely switch out some of the more situational Mech minions for double Animal Companion; depending on the meta this make Zul’jin even stronger and more reliable in his role within the archetype.

Thalnos always has been a great tech card, and it’s even more in Tempo Mage depending on the meta.
However, I generally disagree to add more Spell Damage synergy. As Dmic006 said, Spellshifter isn’t reliable whatsoever as a minion itself.
Both Arcane Watcher and Spellbook Binder need WAY more Spell Damage to work, because the main problem as of now would be that you really can’t play them on curve to make their tempo advantage work (no SD 1-drops for Spellbook Binder, and only Thalnos as 2-drop for follow-up Arcane Watcher).
I can’t count the times playing Tempo Mage where Apprentice hit for 6-9 damage per game, the same goes for Amani Berserker. Yes, Mana Wyrm is gone, and we don’t run Amani Berserker in this list, but you have to count for the fact that loads of board removal card won’t survive the rotation as well; therefore we will be able to deal more minion damage even with weaker minions.

The archetype will have its niche, especially in the specialist format. Another big plus is the fact that we haven’t seen any powerful cheap Taunt minions like Tar Creeper so far, so early minion damage will get through much more often!
Lore of Legendaries: Rise of Shadows
Khadgar is an old archmage. But not old as in years old. He may be 35 to 40 years old on the Hearthstone card art.
During his last fight with Medivh, he casted a curse on Khadgar that made him age much faster than the average human. His hair turned white during his twenties, and he grew a beard very early that was just as white. Low stats really showcase this fragility in my opinion!

Thank you so much! We hope to produce more lore-related content in the future 🙂
What's Hunter Losing in the 2019 Standard Hearthstone Rotation?
It’s always fascinating to me how players describe the power level of a card by comparing it to another card that is “more xy”. Both Jaina and Rexxar can produce infinite value. They’re both strong cards.
But that doesn’t take away from the fact that Rexxar is a problem in the Hunter environment. As GlosuuLang pointed out, every archetype included that Hero card, and won more with it, so that’s a very promising sign of a card being too impactful.
Disruptiveness is not the point that matters. Obsidian Statue is a highly disruptive card for example, but Priests weren’t able to build it into every single archetype. The same goes for Jaina.
What's Hunter Losing in the 2019 Standard Hearthstone Rotation?
There’s no new interaction as of now. That’s a big difference. 🙂 We can be pretty sure that Hunter will receive new spells, and maybe even more spell-based synergy cards.
And as OldManSanns already said, we could also see spell-heavy lists that include things like Secretkeeper or maybe even a Mech package.

I’m always trying to stay neutral on these pieces, but in this case I’m totally with you.
Dalaran in Rise of Shadows - Floating City, Kirin Tor and Time-Travelling?
Twinspells indeed look like they are empowered by the Kirin Tor; their emblem in the back of the Druid 8-mana spell would be good evidence for that theory.
Other than that, there’s really only speculation at the moment. I like your approach representing good and evil through the villain’s classes. However, that’d be mainly dictated by Hearthstone lore and less based on what really “would happen” in a Dalaran defense!
Leaked Image - Rafaam Holding Dalaran Card
There are loads of artifacts in Dalaran! It’s the headquarters of the Kirin Tor after all. But maybe he wants to bolster his ranks of villains by freeing several baddies from the Violet Hold? Who knows!
What’s Paladin Losing in the 2019 Standard Hearthstone Rotation?
Thanks! The rotation of Divine Favor surely impacts Paladin deck building. Old Guardian wrote an excellent piece about all future HoF cards which should be featured on the front page!

Sorry for the late reply! We will post a summary by the end of the week!

Me too! Had a ton of fun with the deck after Boomsday released.
Deciphering the Year of the Dragon Teasers - What we know so far
You can see plenty of different runework in and around the Temple of Sethraliss:

The much more obvious hint are the teal-colored triangular lightning orb inlays which you can find in every corner as well:

I’d be the last guy to say that an Ulduar expansion wouldn’t be the greatest thing of all time, but the evidence for the Sethrak connection seems almost obvious!
Flark just has very few synergies with this deck. He’s not a mech himself, and he “only” summons Goblin Bombs, which when they die pollute our Deathrattle pool!
