Hack the System
I think aggressive is the way to go, but even then… I’ve found this quest unwhelming so far: at 3 health, the golems die to pretty much everything, and at 4 attack they aren’t that scary even when they do connect. It’s like: congratulations, you can play a slightly-better Bloodfen Raptor every turn! Two if you can attack! I’m sure there are ways to make that marginally viable, and I guess I’m glad they were able to prevent RoS-style Control Warrior from just growing in power, but I pity the guys who received this as their free quest.
Standout Saviors of Uldum Decks From Day 1
I haven’t played very much so take this with a grain of salt, but I feel like the classic version is at a big disadvantage right now. Everyone wants to try out their new cards, so there are a ton of Druid Quest, Shaman Quest, and Priest Quest, all of which have a ton of healing. The Highlanders can get hurt, but unlike Reno most of them want to play on curve anyways, and everything is so new its hard to even tell when you’re up against a Highlander until after they play so its hard to punish.
Standout Saviors of Uldum Decks From Day 1
The Innervate and Pounce in Dog’s druid quest deck are interesting choices, plus he doesn’t have a single card over 6 mana–he’s betting hard on closing midgame, sacrificing long term value for early game survival. I’m going to have to try to find some of his streams–does he play aggressively on every matchup, or is it more of a case-by-case basis?
Quest Druid Theorycraft Deck List โ Saviors of Uldum โ August 2019
Nice looking deck!
Even though its not really practical, I don’t think I’ll be able to resist the urge to include Linecracker on any deck with Beeees!!!
Saviors of Uldum Card Reviews #8 (Final) - Naga Sand Witch, Oasis Surger, Octosari, Quicksand Elemental, Unseal the Vault, Vessina, Zephrys the Great
I’m curious to see what Zephrys does to wild. From what I can tell, its mostly aggro decks right now and Reno isn’t too popular, but perhaps Reno + Zephrys + potentially the new class-specific epic might change that.
Zoo Priest Theorycraft Deck List โ Saviors of Uldum โ August 2019
I hope you’re wrong about this being the “successful” priest archetype. Not that your logic isn’t sound; its just that these deck lists just don’t look as much fun to play as Quest, Resurrect, Nomi , etc.
Hack Warrior - SoU Pre-Release Event - PapaJason
It looks fun, at least! …Although 6 weapons / 22 charges is probably way too much. I’d say drop 1 Sul’Thraze; probably also drop the whips and replace with Upgrade / Greenskin. Alternatively, you could try playing into the whips and sub in Frothing Berserkers for the Weapons Projects.
Obelisk (Quest) Priest Theorycraft Deck List - Saviors of Uldum - August 2019
Tardis: I was trying to draw comparisons for the sake of discussion–perhaps a belabored comparison, but honestly it was the best I could think of. If you can think of a more apt comparison for how/why this deck could be viable, I would sincerely to hear it. If you’re just saying that this deck CAN’T be viable–well, you might be right, but personally I’d much rather imagine how new and interesting decks *might* take off rather than assume we’re in for 4 more months of the same stale Dr. Boom / Conjuring / Zul’gin / Kangor / etc meta.
Whizbang the Wonderful Deck Recipes List - Descent of Dragons Decks, Hero Power, Golden Decks, & More!
FYI, yesterday’s update included new deck recipes, and presumably the upcoming expansion’s new Whizbang decks. …Let’s just say some of these decks–especially the highlander ones–are “bold”. ๐
Quest Plot Twist Warlock - SoU Pre-Release Event - Kibler
Other than Khartut Defender, this just seems like a worst version of the Plot Twist deck he’s already playing… ๐
Whelps and Elekk can offer so much value under the right circumstances; I can’t believe he cut them. I’m not sure the Quest package adds much value here.
Big Dragon Mage - SoU Pre-Release Event - Alliestrasza
I agree, but I think its close enough to be an off-meta deck with a few optimizations. Maybe replace the Faerie Dragon and 1 Puzzle Box with 2 Flame Sentries?
Obelisk (Quest) Priest Theorycraft Deck List - Saviors of Uldum - August 2019
The win condition is that once you complete you quest, you start playing cheap minions and buffing them +3/+3. Think like a cross between Prince K and Deathstalker Rexxar: every turn you’re spending minimal resources to put a new threat on the board, and your opponent only has a finite number of ways to deal with them. I’m not saying that will necessarily be enough to close out games in practice (and I don’t think Stonekeep was promising that either), but its an intriguing concept.

Your comments remind me a bit of back when everyone was theory-crafting how incredible Marsh Queen (hunter quest) was going to be and how awful the Caverns Below (rogue quest) was, and then Un’Goro released and everyone experimented for a week and then went back to just playing Pirate Warrior and Miracle Rogue.
Sahket Sapper
Oh it definitely can be won, it’s just statistically unlikely. Current stats on HsReplay:
Hooktusk = 25.8% v Control, 33.8% v Bomb
Pogo = 63.1% v Control, 44.6% v Bomb
Tempo = 30.3% v Control, 34.5% v Bomb
Thief = 39.5% v Control, 34.0% v Bomb
I had an epic Thief v Control game the other week where I got Catrina off Face Collector, then schemed ~10 copies into my deck. Every turn that poor warrior would try so hard to wipe the board, and then I’d just drop another Catrina and start repopulating again. ๐
Sahket Sapper
Are you complaining, or honestly asking?
In case of the latter: it’s like Sap, except its on a random enemy target and automatically when this minion dies.
Sahket Sapper
True, but I think we’re living in a world were we just accept that Rogue mostly loses to Warrior.
Ps.- Imagine instead playing after T10 vs Warrior, and Warrior plays Omega Devastor to frag one target, rush into this guy to kill it + bring back to hand, play it a second time to frag another target, and then rush into another target to kill a total of 4 minions, plus probably leave a 4-attack minion on the board. ๐ That single card can now solo a Hooktusk turn.

As a strict value proposition it’s very good: worst case, you sacrificed your T1 play to eventually increase your hero power from 2 to 3. But the big question is: can any priest decks actually synergize with this, because right now all priest decks are Tier 3/4 and I most won’t want this card–Silence and Mech just want to run raw aggro, Nomi just wants to race through her deck ASAP, and Resurrect already has great late game value so this seems like more of a win-more card.
I pray that this could make Villain Priest a real thing, but I know that’s wishful thinking.
Flame Ward
I really hate that this card will exist. The only significant weakness Conjure mage has right now that it couldn’t handle aggro going wide quickly.
Do you just hold off on finishing your quest and fight for board instead? You have 10 reborn, but 4 of them are 4-drops, 2 of them are 6-drops, and you don’t really want to play Micro Mummy early due to lost ability and polluting your mech death pool.
