Whizbang’s Workshop Rewards Track Refresh Details + New Level 100 Skin Rewards!

Whizbang’s Workshop expansion is releasing next week, and just like every set, it will come with a rewards track refresh. On March 19, all players will be reset to Level 1 and start earning new rewards as they climb back up. Here’s a quick summary:

  • Overall, the base (free) rewards track seems to be basically the same as in the previous few expansions. Rewards pretty much match up level to level, no surprises here. Just updated for the new expansion.
  • The paid rewards track is also almost the same as in the last expansion – of course, we have different cosmetics, but the overall value of rewards is the same. It looks like they’ve settled on that and will keep doing it maybe until they launch a new mode.
  • This expansion’s free Legendary every player gets at Level 1 is Li'Na, Shop Manager.
  • We have a single Diamond card this time around – Joymancer Jepetto at Tavern Pass Level 2. The second Diamond card (usually given out for collecting all Legendary cards from expansion) has been replaced by two Signature Cards – Toyrannousaurus and Lab Patron. We also have two new cosmetic coins in the expansion – Wondrous Workshop Coin (Tavern Pass Level 90) and Candy Coin (Owning 145 expansion cards).
  • As for the other cosmetics in Tavern Pass, there are six Signature Cards (2x Watercolor Artist, 2x Corridor Sleeper, 2x Rambunctious Stuffy), four Golden Cards (Li'Na, Shop Manager, Colifero the Artist, 2x Playhouse Giant), 11 Constructed skins (one for each class), and a card back (Zail Starfallen).
  • The rewards track was updated with five new Level 100 rewards (Hero skins). This time we have ones for Druid, Hunter, Mage, Priest and Rogue. I wouldn’t expect more of those skins in a while now, since it will take a few more expansion before people start running out of skins to pick again.
  • We also have a small, but (mostly) positive update for achievements. Badlands achievements will no longer stop grating XP with this patch – you can still complete them and get XP. Also, Whizbang’s Workshop will have fewer achievements, but they will have better XP rewards. Well, I said positive, but technically if you were completing all achievements in every expansion, you would end up with less XP than previously. It’s a big advantage for casual players however because achievements will no longer expire so if  you happen to complete Whizbang’s Workshop one a year from now you will still get rewarded for it.

Whizbang’s about to open the doors to his workshop, where a new Rewards Track awaits! When the Rewards Track refreshes with the Whizbang’s Workshop launch, all players will automatically be granted any unclaimed rewards on the current free Rewards Track and the Tavern Pass track (if purchased), before a completely new Whizbang’s Workshop Rewards Track takes its place.

Whizbang’s Workshop Tavern Pass

With the launch of Whizbang’s Workshop, a new Tavern Pass will be made available for purchase, featuring a toychest full of fun new cosmetic rewards and XP Boosts!

Purchasing the Tavern Pass at any time will immediately give you a 10% XP Boost that lasts the rest of the duration of the expansion, plus all items up to your current level on the paid track. As you progress along the Tavern Pass during the Whizbang’s Workshop expansion, you can earn: additional XP Boosts; the Joymancer Jepetto Diamond Legendary card; the Li’Na Shop Manager and Colifero the Artist Golden Legendary cards; 2 Playhouse Giant Golden Epic cards; 2 Corridor Sleeper Signature Epic cards; 2 Watercolor Artist Signature Rare cards; 2 Rambunctious Stuffy Signature Common cards; a new cosmetic coin and card back; a new Hero Skin for each class; and 2 Golden Standard Packs!*

All Tavern Pass card grants are unable to be crafted or disenchanted.

Achievements Updates

Unlike prior expansions, Showdown in the Badlands Achievements will not stop awarding XP with Patch 29.0 and will, instead, keep granting XP on the next Rewards Track! There will be fewer new Achievements in Whizbang’s Workshop, but each of those new Achievements will each grant more XP than main-set Achievements have typically given in the past.

Additionally, the progression on the Legendary Collector Achievement will now grant copies of two Signature cards, instead of a Diamond card:

Flip for Two New Cosmetic Coins

Two new cosmetic coins have been added with Whizbang’s Workshop: the Wondrous Workshop Coin and the Candy Coin. The Wondrous Workshop Coin is earned by reaching level 90 on the Rewards Track with the Tavern Pass. The Candy Coin is earned by completing the Achievement for having 145 Whizbang’s Workshop cards.

Whizbang’s Workshop will have a 38-card Mini-Set that will make it easier to complete the collection-based Achievements. We’ll share more information about that Mini-Set in the coming months.

Just to make sure (once again, because I simply can’t memorize 🙁 ): It is better to 1st buy the Rewards Track and claim the Level 1 Legendary so that if I open it, I can exchange it for another one, right!?

It does not matter. If you open a copy in a pack first, you will be offered a chance to reroll it when you claim the Diamond. If you claim the Diamond first, duplicate protection prevents you from getting a regular copy until you have the full set of that rarity.

This is for the paid level 2 Diamond Jepetto. The level 1 free Li’na Legendary cannot be opened from packs anyway.
