Wailing Caverns Mini-Set Early Meta Decks – Hearthstone Pro & Streamer Deck Lists For All Classes

We will no longer update this post! For the list of latest Standard decks, click here. For Wild decks, click here.

Wailing Caverns mini-set was just released, and it added 35 new cards to the game.

While its impact clearly won’t be as big as an entire expansion’s, some of the new cards look really powerful and and they have a serious chance to shake up the meta. Or – at the very least – force some experimentation. Combine that with a small nerf to Paladin

In this post, we’ll be compiling Legend decks from pros & streamers played after the release of the new mini-set. It doesn’t necessarily mean that every single deck will contain new cards – if some older deck will still look good, or a meta shift will make some previously unpopular deck more viable, we’ll still add it. However, we’ll try to focus mostly on decks containing some of the new cards.

If you’re still wondering what’s the best way to get the new cards, check out our guide here!

Wailing Caverns Deck Lists

Once new cards launch, we’ll give players some time to get them and build new decks. After that, we’ll be adding them to this post, probably for the next few days. Like always, be vary of the early decklists – it will take players some time to figure out how (or if) the meta has changed, which means that early experimentations might not be good. Spending your precious Dust to craft a deck that turns out to be bad is never pleasant, so be careful.

Legend with secret paladin. The nerfs to paladin are noticeable though, swapped first day at school for argent squire. Judgment of justice is great. Meta seems a bit more balanced. Encountered all classes during the climb which is cool. Elemental shaman looks interesting.

How tf will that evolve shaman deck work lol. You only get two weapons and 4 evolve charges from your weapons, and the evolve targets aren’t even that good. Plus you’re using 4 weapon tutoring cards(cagematch custodian and selfless sidekick) but only have two weapons.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I think evolve shaman is dead as long as Hoard Pillager is rotated.

It looks like you are supposed to set up some crazy spell combos and out value them that way. malygos can draw your c’thun spells to help you win that way also. I think it looks pretty fun!

But Celestial Alignment sets you back to 1 mana, and C’thun will cost 10 mana after you play all the C’thun pieces. So your game finisher would be delayed a full 9 turns at least.

This is why you run two alignments. So if you don’t hit the ramp you need you can just alignment again after you complete cthun and set him to one mana.

Often though, you can ramp your way back to 10 very quickly.

That’s honestly not a problem. You really only go down to 1 mana for a single turn – after that you ramp up like crazy with Nourish, Overgrowth etc. I played the deck yesterday and I often got back up to 5+ mana on the first turn.
