The Stonewright
Do I think this is an amazing card? No. Do I think it singlehandedly breathes life into the totem shaman archetype? No. Do I think it’s a decent standalone card? Yes.
This isn’t pre-nerf Drekthar, But it also doesn’t require as much of you. It’s a 4 mana 5/4 which isn’t a big tempo loss and it gradually provides a trickle of value over the course of the game. Maybe you don’t throw this into any old random shaman deck, but if we get a few more decent totem cards for generic use I could easily see this finding its way into decks without the word “totem” in their name.
Sinfueled Golem
I’m used to neutral epics being relatively bad/niche but this thing just seems atrocious. Compare it to Slithering Deathscale from Sunken City. 7 mana 5/9 Naga with Battlecry: if you’ve cast three spells while holding this, deal 3 damage to all enemies. That card doesn’t see play and it’d condition is play spells which naga decks are all about, it has a board clear attached to help with tempo, and worst case is a 5/9 body which is far from ideal but is still SOMETHING. This card requires more setup, has no immediate board impact even if you DO infuse it, and is unplayable in it’s default state.
Sinful Sous Chef
Simple card but it synergizes very well with a ton of paladin cards. 3 bodies means 3 ticks for infuse, obvious handbuff synergy, SHR decks will clearly want this card, and since recruits are paladin cards it even has strong synergy with Lightray and Elitist Snob. If your paladin deck has any 1-drops I’m guessing this is gonna be in it.
Artificer Xy'mox
I think it works similar to spell damage where only the numbers expressed as a numeral on the card get upgraded. So Extinction would deal (x) damage twice, Phantasms would summon two x/x minions, and dimensions would draw two and reduce their cost by (x).
Tour Guide
Waterboy. 2 mana 2/1 with the same battlecry but the effect only lasted one turn. Terrible card, especially compared to this.
Jandice Barov
Jandice Barov is a boss in the WoW dungeon this expansion is based on. She is known as the “Mistress of Illusion” and during the fight she splits herself into multiple illusions and the players have to find the “right” Jandice to defeat her. I assume this card’s summoned minions are supposed to represent her illusions. I’m not sure how it will fit into Hearthstone gameplay-wise but that is what I assume they were aiming for thematically. 🙂
Tavern Brawl - A Less Friendly Game of Chess
I used priest with:
-Circle of Healing
-Silence
-Power Word: Shield
-Inner Fire
-Divine Spirit
-Shadow Visions
Basically just try and get an extra copy of pws/divine spirit with shadow visions. Then turn any minion that sticks into a lethal threat my silencing then buffing it!
Always pick Renathal. Your opponent will never suspect it and BOOM free vanilla 3/4. OP 10/5 stars
