Sir Finley of the Sands
Of course! I’m not saying it’s impossible. I’m saying that, unless there is no control win-condition printed in this expansion, finley won’t see play.

The fact that your deck needs to be singleton makes it seem unjustifiable to even consider running this in an aggro deck. A more reasonable argument would be to consider running this in a control deck. However, the only control deck atm is otk pally, which makes the “highlander” aspect contradictory to what the otk paladin wants to do, which is consistently cycle through your deck to land the 25 damage to face as soon as possible.
If you run sir finley, you’re basically paying the consistency of a already volatile combo deck and adding extra value to your gameplan, which also doesn’t make sense as you already have enough survivability from your healing effects + time out. Although if paladin gets a win-condition that isn’t combo-oriented like something similar to zul’jin, I can see sir finley being run in that deck

Say what you want about flavor, this card is actually really strong. In any situation that you’re a little bit behind on board, this card clears the board, tall or wide, and puts a 4/6 in play. That’s incredibly strong.
But yes, I do agree that this card is hilariously boring, so 0 stars for design.

Not to mention that building an aggro/midrange deck is basically impossible if you include this card since your deck is highlander, it’s at best a support card. And even so, support card for what? The only control deck atm is combo pally, and why would I build a highlander deck to make my shirvallah combo even more inconsistent? Literally just for this card? NO

This card is garbage. Why in the world would I build a deck around a card that I need to actually draw, on top of getting the right hero power? What if I built my deck around the fact that I want to play aggressively, and I get warlock, priest, and shaman? What if i get literally any hero power other than paladin?
Also, most of paladin’s new cards are revolving around the 1-hp mechanic, how in the world does finley support that archetype?
This is honestly one of the worst paladin legendaries I’ve seen since bolvar. In fact if it weren’t for the bolvars, I’d say this is the worst paladin legendary printed so far. Highlander paladin better get more help than this.

Great combos with this card other than quest:
1. Dire wolf alpha
2. Corridor Creeper
3. Scavenging Hyena
4. Deathstalker Rexxar (Zombeast)
What do they all have in common? They’re all beasts! (Master’s call)

Yes, both Thrall and Hagatha have amazing battlecries, but isn’t including both just make the deck way too slow? You’re spending 2 turns playing extremely low curve.

if this means that there’s going to be some sort of reintroduction of mean streats, im gonna cry
Because it’s not that simple to build an aggro deck. If the case was that any aggro deck would be successful simply by curving out the mana, any class could be a good aggro deck. Aggro decks needs to have early synergy (zoolock with hero power, hunter with beasts, paladin with silver hand buff).
By creating a highlander deck, you’re removing the synergy part of the deck as singleton cards need to be good standalone cards, AND you’re removing the consistency in your draws, which makes it harder for you to take the board and keep it.
