Seek Guidance
You’re right. I also overlooked the smaller quest rewards of discovering also – pretty powerful.
Still think it is too slow though.
Seek Guidance
I think this is a really cool card, however I have to disagree with the hopefuls below – way to slow! Putting C’thun in your deck lowers your win rate and he is a comparable card.
Fun but bad. Excited to see some streamers play it.

Love the humblebrag Stonekeep. Keep up the good work on the site!
Vol'jin Hunter - #69 Legend (Orange) - Darkmoon Races
This deck has way more legs than it has any right too.
I dont have oblivotron or blastenheimer but replaced them with a broomstick and a fel colossus.
7 mana broomstick, vol’jin, broomstick is a pretty sweet play if it lines up.
Greybough
I can see this in a token deck – certainly a great combo with the broomstick. Rushing him in and a guarenteed body to death rattle too.
Soul Demon Hunter - #12 Legend (chunchunner) - Scholomance
Have played this for 20 games or so and I really like this deck. I was looking for something for more consistency, and say what you will about Demon Hunter, it’s consistent in it’s gameplay. That fact isn’t for everyone but I was getting a little tired of the rng-fest it can become.
For anyone looking to play it, I don’t have Polkelt, Soulciologist or Magtheridon but the deck still plays really smoothly. I have replaced with Altruis (always good, even if for 2-3 extra face damage), one cycle of hatred that actually seems to perform well in lots of match-ups, and a copy of Warglaives.
Highlander Rogue - #81 Legend (LFyueying) - Scholomance
I wouldn’t say either of those are essential legendaries to this list. Greenskin if you have him, or just some other cards that have a little above average power spike?
Steeldancer
Could potentially see play in an aggro rogue? If you can get the scimitar to be 4 attack on turn 3, drop this and a dread corsair for turn 4 could be game over.
Aggro rogue only needs a few cards to be viable I’d say with the spymistress available.
Nerf Patch Early Next Week - Battlefiend, Altruis, Glaivebound Adept, Kael'Thas, Bad Luck Albatross, Frenzied Felwing, Sac Pact, Open the Waygate and Bloodbloom
I agree with this. Playing at the top platinum ranks, 50% is aggro dh and even with a perfect mulligan with mage they still win 50% of the time, even playing cards solely to improve chances against dh!

It also (maybe unintentionally) counters any pure deck also, which is significant for those decks. Due to lack of card draw for classes like warrior it can make for some pretty brutal top decks in those matches.
Feels unfair that a class like warlock can run two of them, and still play highlander cards, while ruining majority of other classes game plan each match.
Potential Nerfs to Demon Hunter, Sacrificial Pact, Bad Luck Albatross, Frenzied Felwing, Kael'thas Sunstrider, Quest Mage & Darkest Hour Warlock
I know it may be a little controversial, but I am so glad to see a mention of bad luck albatross. It ruins fun for so many decks. I appreciate some highlander decks may need something to keep them in check, but it destroys all the pure archetypes also as a by-product and they are balanced as they are. When I face a priest or warlock my heart sinks when I see the albatross on 3. Often these days warlocks run 2 and the deck is so good they run highlander cards without even being!
What was wrong with Galakrond Shaman? Quick Analysis of The Upcoming Nerfs
A good analysis. I think a lot of their decision must be guided by the data they collect, and although no-one expected something like sludge slurper, it is clearly a highly performing card and the small changes that they make just tune a decks winning power down a couple of %’s.
This seems better to me and I agree that it limits a deck without killing it. As less people play shaman, or edit the decks focus, because they are being killed on turn 6/7 changes all things around it.
Big (Duel) Paladin - Shadows Post-Nerf - #124 Legend (CheeseHead)
How best to play this against control warrior?
Great article, thanks OG.
On Control Warrior – I don’t have access to the data but one glaring improvement has to be Thori’Belore. I’ve been messing around with a version that focuses on maximising chorus rift and also playing Smelt.
Although that is a useable meme package, Thor is a legit MVP. Interesting to see what the data says.
