Key Cards Rotating Out in 2020 (Year of the Phoenix?) - Part 1 (Neutral Cards)
Pretty sure quest shamans were running it while mogu was still 7 mana, but that was pretty much it.
Difference of opinion, but I feel like it was a sizable enough impact to get mentioned. One of the few cards from Year of the Raven to get nerfed. And in fact, the only Raven card to get nerfed in all of 2018. The other 5 cards were all during Year of the Dragon, when the power-level of standard HS went way down.
Giggling was on a different level. Blood Knight actually seeing play for the first time I can remember. More popular than even the mighty Zilliax! In an era where DK’s were commonplace.
But I understand most have long forgotten about it. I still remember it so I guess that’ll have to do.

Still surprised Da Undatakah never went anywhere outside of meme paladin lists. Combo in general really took a back seat all year, as OTK Paly was the only real combo deck to pop up and stick around in standard. Undatakah looked and really is super powerful, but never got support.

Quest Shaman even ran it well after its nerf (sometimes). Certainly worth mentioning?

No Giggling Inventor? i forgot about it too until you mention mossy horror. That was a big counter to its dominance.
Nerf Patch (16.0.8) Coming Later This Week - Nerfs to Fiendish Rites, Scion of Ruin, Ancharrr, Dragon's Pack, Invocation of Frost, Necrium Apothecary and Dragonqueen Alexstrasza
Whatever happened to Reno? Must be one hell of a visual bug.
Four New Battleground Heroes Found in Game Files - Released Next Week?
Elise, Sindragosa, Brann, then Finley.
I really like discovering from a certain tier pool. If you upgrade on 4 gold like a lot of people do, then you get a guaranteed 2 drop next turn with discover so easier time finding the one you want. Then you’re also set up to upgrade on gold 7, where you can also discover and play a 3 drop.
Sindragosa is interesting. Already I’ve seen a lot of streamers try and freeze triple minions over and over so they can get the bonus for the tier they want. This rewards that strategy pretty nicely. Also, I assume if you freeze a minion, and don’t eventually buy it, it would retain the buffs for other players yeah? Kinda scary.
I really don’t like buffing minions at random. I like it even less when they want me to pay 1 gold for it to not hit the correct card.
Update on Battlegrounds MMR - Games Should Have Bigger MMR Gains/Loses
While at first I didn’t like it either as it seemed like progression up the rating charts grinded to a halt, I now think I like being able to bounce out of a match when I know it’s lost. If I have to sit an extra round or 2 to still come in 5th just so i don’t lose too much rating I’ll be sad.

Thank you for that.

he is a weird omission from this squad. And sindragosa in his stead? they must have something planned for him

Can’t help but notice all the Malygos spell examples are from classic and basic sets. Is this the only pool he’s pulling spells from?
Are Wild Cards Returning to Standard a Precursor to a Rotating Hearthstone Core Set?
Thank you for the thorough reply. So it sounds like it would be much like the current event. “reprinted” cards with special status to be in standard. Still, I wonder if two different core sets could offer the same variety the current evergreen sets have. I wouldn’t want one whole core set to be devoted to one archetype for a class.
Sorry for the delay. =)
Are Wild Cards Returning to Standard a Precursor to a Rotating Hearthstone Core Set?
I’m really confused with the final idea. Are you saying at rotation they should remove half of the classic/basic cards as well? With nothing replacing them? Or wild cards replacing them? or are they new cards blizzard is making every year for this purpose?
Secret Highlander Paladin Deck List Guide – Uldum Doom – October 2019
What’s the deal with no leeroy in a lot of secret paladin lists?
Is Someone Injured? The Northshire Cleric Conundrum
I get that priest is limited. But i also feel that “Well they don’t have any other options” isn’t good enough answer anymore. The class is either not played or oppressive. I hope the “sweeping changes” involve upgrading the priest core set while pruning these broke back cards. It’s been years of this: Priest is super good going into rotation, then they’re super bad after, and become really strong again in the last 2 expansions.
Why can’t priest just be good? It’s because their core set desperately needs addressing.
Highlander Paladin - Saviors of Uldum - #3 Legend (chunchunner)
been playing this deck for 4 days now and lovin it. Why didn’t we combine mechs and secrets sooner? Within this deck is a match made in HS heaven.
Ah yes I remember similar lists popping up just before the last rotation. Taunt druid was certainly a force to be reckoned with. This looks the same as those final lists at the time, with the exception of 2 Starfires. Maybe go with Naturlize instead? Activate your Hadronox or Undatakah yourself on the same turn. Still I’m sure the list does fine as is against most decks.
