Introducing the Hearthstone Top Decks F2P BTW Challenge
Congrats on opening Antonidas! I think that deck can take you far as is.
VODs of my early stages are up on my Twitch channel now (https://www.twitch.tv/rofflehs) if you want to check them out.
I’ll also be streaming more of my run tomorrow evening (Pacific Time).

Thanks! I’m making good progress already! You can expect an update tomorrow 🙂
You list looks like it’s off to a good start. Obviously, Medivh’s Valet would fit nicely, but the 2,800 gold to get all of Karazhan takes quite a bit of time. Bittertide Hydras also seem good in Secret Mage right now, but Burgly Bully/Conjurer are reasonable replacements (especially when running Antonidas).
Midrange Hunter Deck List Guide - Boomsday - August 2018
FWIW, Statistics suggest DIre Wolf performs better when included in decks and significantly better when played (though both have a <50% WR when played). Fire Fly on 1 into Dire Wolf is a reasonable play and can provide early board control that a Timber Wolf can't. Alpha also feels a lot less bad to play on an empty board.
Hearthstone Legendary Crafting Guide (Standard) - United in Stormwind
Jade Druid dropped more dramatically in Wild after the nerfs, but is still decent in Wild. Aya is good in decks beyond Jade Druid, making her a strong craft if you have any interest in Wild.
Really, only you can decide whether these cards are worth crafting. Both are powerful card, so it’s a matter of determining whether six months of play is worth 1600 dust apiece (1200 if you DE Wild cards).
Midrange Hunter Deck List Guide - Boomsday - August 2018
Precisely this. Dinomancy is too slow for what this deck is looking to accomplish.
Midrange Hunter Deck List Guide - Boomsday - August 2018
This list only runs a single Dire Wolf Alpha, but Timber Wolves are worth considering. I’m not entirely sold on either, to be honest.
Budget Handbuff Paladin Deck List Guide (Kobolds and Catacombs)
Truesilver Champion is a little better in the weapon slots than Sword of Justice. I’d recommend using it for the time being.
Budget Secret Mage Deck List Guide (Kobolds and Catacombs)
Glacial Mysteries would be a little slow for this deck. Any of the cards in the General Replacements section would be good if you’re missing a card or two from the list.
Midrange Hunter Deck List Guide - Boomsday - August 2018
Replacements are at the end of the guide. I recommend a second Dire Wolf Alpha and Fire Fly.

Thanks!
I did get a DK (Uther) from the KoFT prologue and plan to grab enough WotG packs to pull a Legendary. I’ll address each of these topics in some of the upcoming weekly recaps and guides. Stay tuned!

Thanks!
I’m looking forward to the challenge and hope to gain better insight into the new player/account experience along the way.

Thank you! Even this early in the challenge, I think going in I underestimated how much time it takes to accumulate enough resources to be competitive.
Midrange Hunter Deck List Guide - Boomsday - August 2018
Congrats on Legend! Bonemare seems like a pretty reasonable inclusion, as well.
Midrange Hunter Deck List Guide - Boomsday - August 2018
Being a faster deck, Hybrid Hunter really wants to make good use of Steady Shot hero powers to close games. I would agree, however, that Deathstalker fits well in a proper Midrange build (the one on this site is a good place to start).
Hearthstone Legendaries You Can "Safely" Disenchant - Ashes of Outland - May 2020
Bolvar Fordragon rotated out of Standard with GvG. Wild-exclusive Legendaries weren’t considered for this particular list.
If you meant Bolvar Fireblood (from the new set), he is certainly a borderline card. At the time of writing this article, Bolvar was seeing some play but that was likely due to new expansion excitement. While a little better than the first iteration, new Bolvar is still a little slow. He’s played in very few decks at the moment and doesn’t seem to have a great impact on win rate when he is.
That said, he’s a card that could get support in the future which, paired with the recency of KoFT and the pack changes, may make him worth holding onto for a little longer.
Wild Aggro Token Druid Deck List Guide (August 2017, Season 41)
The deck is not quite as strong, but certainly capable post nerf. It should, should remove Innervate in favor of Druid of the Swarm. I’ve been running something similar with a positive win rate at Legend ranks.
Budget Zoo Warlock Deck List Guide (Rastakhan's Rumble)
Congrats! Glad to hear it’s still effective!
Budget Zoo Warlock Deck List Guide (Rastakhan's Rumble)
Unfortunately, Jaraxxus doesn’t quite fit with the goal of this particular deck. He is, however, a powerful card that has seen a lot of play in other archetypes.
Budget Aggro Stealth Rogue Deck List Guide 2017
It’s certainly possible, but not necessarily as easy as it would be with other decks. I climbed to Rank 8 or so in testing this particular list.
Congrats on your early success! You’ve made great progress in a few short months!
Climbing ranks helps increase both your card and dust pool immensely. Finding a powerful, reasonably cost decks is an important first step. Midrange Hunter is exactly that and what I’m currently building towards in this challenge.
Secret Mage is another good option and it sounds like you have more than enough dust to build a fairly optimal version.
