Hearthstone Battlegrounds Heroes Tier List & Guide - Best Available Heroes & Strategies - August 2023
I ran Syndragosa instead of 2 minions in the tier bellow. I bought a weak minion and left 2 higher stat minions on the first turn to pick them up later. I froze the board for two turns and bought them on turn 3. What happened was that I lost every turn for the first 7 or so turns. I kept freezing and picking up buffed minions but since those minions weren’t very useful aside from their stats, I just continued to lose games. I genuinely don’t believe that this hero power is worth using at all… unless the minions presented to you early in the game are all decent in the mid-late game. Even then, usually you want to pick up those minion right away so that you can get MORE minions like that. I’m perplexed and confused. I probably would have done better had I picked Malygos or Shudderwock.
Archmage Vargoth
Ah I see. I guess as long as Vargoth can replay the aforementioned spells, it still has impact on the turn it’s played. Sorry about my misinformed comment.
Archmage Vargoth
Suggest you use this in hunter. It replays a beast summoning spell you used earlier that turn. Now Zul’jin plays both those spells… if it works that way (not sure). Regardless of whether or not you use Zul’jin that game, if you play Vargoth into Unleash the Beast, then you can summon 12/16 of stats on turn 10. Or you can play it on 7 with Animal Companion. Even if this card is better with damaging spells, I can see it having real solid play in hunter. Even with deadly shot, cybertech chip, dire frenzy (in the right situations), or even… may I dare say… The Beast Within?!
Vereesa Windrunner
Personally I think this card is awesome because baited arrow might see more play in midrange hunter after rotation. But mainly, hunter can struggle sometimes to close out the game because as the late game approaches the opponent might heal up or start building armor and you might start losing momentum to kill them. Having a way to threaten closing out the game after playing highmane on 6 for instance; your opponent would have to play weapon removal and now you might be able to finish off the game if you have kill command or, possibly, arcane shots if the weapon sticks. I think it’s a huge threat and a super classy win condition. Finally, we can still expect more cards to come, so this might turn out to have more synergy with damaging spells they release.
I read your reply a while ago, sorry that I forgot to respond. I’ve been doing alright with Sindragosa lately. Thanks for the reply and the helpful advice!
