July 2021 Update: It's Official - 15th Of Each Month Is Nozdormu Day - Put Him Into Your Deck For a Higher Chance Of Blitz Matchup!
How about this? On the 15th day of the month, Nozdormu only needs to be in one of the decks to have a blitz match. Heh heh heh. “But I didn’t **choose** to play blitz!” you say? As if you chose to have your deck milled by Tickatus, or to be Lunacyed by Mage or RNGed by Priest or farmed by Paladin, and on and on.
Forged in the Barrens Card List & Expansion Guide! Release Date, Card Reveals, Pre-Purchase Info, New Mechanics and More!
I just heard about two new Forged In The Barrens mage cards that haven’t been posted here yet. The first is Mordresh Fire Eye, a 10-mana 10/10 legendary. “Battlecry: If you’ve dealt 10 damage with your hero power this game, deal 10 damage to all enemies.” That’s a lot of tens! A supporting 4-mana Rare card is the 3/5 Reckless Apprentice. “Battlecry: Fire your Hero Power at all enemies.”
Dang! Those core set hero power buff cards don’t look so bad anymore.
Key Cards Rotating Out in 2021 (Year of the Gryphon) - Part 2 (Demon Hunter, Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin)
What, no mention of the legendary mage card Khadgar? It used to go hand in hand with Conjuror’s Calling and Power of Creation. Pretty much any card that summoned minions could be spiced up with Khadgar. Granted, it came to be considered a bit greedy and was cut from a lot of decks, but when you were able to pull it off and fill your side of the board with big minions, it was a blast.
Glacier Racer
Heck, Cone of Cold might start seeing play now, as a 5-mana 4-damage AOE on 3 minions.
Glacier Racer
This combined with Blizzard is a 5-damage Flamestrike for the same mana! It’s definitely gonna be included in a lot of decks.
Turtle Mage Deck List & Guide – Scholomance Academy – September 2020
I love the suggestion of running an Elek and a Broom to remedy drawing both Potions. And I hadn’t thought about how Boompistol Bully could thwart the priest’s Mindrender Illucia deck-swap, so thanks for those outstanding tips!
I saw a great Turtle Mage tactic in the recent master’s tournament against Bomb warrior: Eddie had a Sphere of Sapience equipped, and kept his hand at 10 cards. Whenever a potion or freeze came up that he wanted to keep, he’d send it back to his deck; otherwise, he’d let the overdraw happen, which burns bombs without detonating them.
I’ve had a lot of fun with Malygos and Raz in my deck: while it adds a bit more complexity, it’s way more satisfying. With one of each on the board, suddenly you’re doing 6 damage to face and every enemy minion PER TURN until those minions are removed. Two Malys and three Raz do 11 damage three times per turn for a total of 33 damage per turn. That and a ping is enough to take out a Colossus of the Moon in one turn. Got a warrior or druid with tons of armor and big minions? No problem.
Jandice Barov
There are some pretty nice 5-manas with deathrattle: A’lar, Convincing Infiltrator, Waxadred. 12/7 in stats on average for 5 mana is pretty good value. Even if one minion secretly has less health than it claims, your opponent still has to devote resources to it to get rid of it.
Ras Frostwhisper
Wow…
You play Raz and Mozaki on turn 10 after using Incanter’s flow to turn a bunch of 1-cost spells into zero-cost, and presto! You wipe the opponent’s board and do face damage to them EVERY TURN until Raz is removed. It’s like a scalable Ragnaros that does AOE over all enemies.
5/5 – Can’t wait.
Vectus
With Astromancer Solarian , two Youthful Brewmaster, two Ancient Brewmaster, a Barista Lynchen and a Sathrovarr , Vectus could give you up to fifteen Solarian Primes in a single mage deck. Let the memes begin!
Sphere of Sapience
or for that matter, against anything the other player shuffles into your deck that harms you when it is drawn.
Or if you want to draw more Yser dragons, you could skip the non-dragon cards.
Headmaster Kel'Thuzad
I’m surprised that no one’s mentioned the mage possibilities with Naga Sand Witch yet. You can turn a Malygos flamestrike into a 5-mana 8-damage AOE that can wipe most opponent boards.
Standout Rise of Shadows Decks From (Up to) Day 3
Mechanical Whelp, followed by Khadgar and Conjurer’s Calling is like Power of Creation with two 7/7 Dragon Mechs thrown in.
Tempo Mage Theorycraft Deck List – Rise of Shadows - April 2019
“Minion damage” could mean damage dealt by minions, or it could refer to damage dealt to other minions. Mana Wyrm is an example of the former, and was typically used to “go face” early and often. Magic Dart Frog is strictly an example of the latter, with a special power that can only damage enemy minions. If you are a fan of “going face” then Magic Dart Frog is bound to disappoint you.
Taznak, you might prefer to substitute the Magic Dart Frogs with Banana Buffoons If you play a Sorceror’s Apprentice on turn 2, followed by a Banana Buffoon on turn 3, you get to go face with a 5/4 apprentice on turn 3.
Dreamway Guardians
The lifesteal is meant to combo with Lifeweaver on turn 3. If druid can manage to take 2 damage in the first two turns, the reward is two free spells.
Hunter stole the priest’s machine gun this expansion.
