Core Set Is Replacing Basic/Classic - 235 Cards Set Updated Every Year (Free For All Players New), Classic Hearthstone Format With Original 2014 Game's State, More Deck Slots!
Uh so does this mean once the core set is revealed, we should dust all the Classic cards that will be core if we’re getting them for free anyway? Or am I reading this wrong?
Lunar New Year Event Has Started - "Happy New Year" Legendary Quest Line + Three Kingdom Hero Skins Now Available
I’m liking a lot of these new hero portraits but I also kinda want to see more reward skins that aren’t just new takes on the original heroes kinda?
Minor quibble tbh

What did you cut to run it?
Ramp Paladin Deck List & Guide – Darkmoon Faire – February 2021
I guess so…I’ll admit I haven’t tried Amalgam at all, but in my experience my games hinge on drawing Noz as early as possible (so I run Sphere as well) and if I play Tip the Scales, the big attack rush stuff clears any board the opponent could have. And if I play it from hand it corrupts Strongman. I think that more than makes up for a hit to N’Zoth and isn’t at all necessary in Tip the Scales.

Why run Amalgams that will screw up your dragon tutor when you can run Strongman for free taunts after you play big stuff?
Demon Hunter, Revisited: Analyzing the Impact of the Standard Nerfs
I appreciate everything you said about Demon Hunter but this meta is even worse. I’d rather face aggro DH and soul DH (hell, Soul Demon Hunter is fun to play) and have six classes decently competitive than have Evolve Shaman and Miracle Rogue reign supreme and six classes that are half-dead or completely dead.

Hotfix for Mindrender Illucia & Drakkari Enchanter
I think it’s always worked that way and it just didn’t matter until now. I’d prefer it if that complete reshuffling didn’t happen either, tbh, but I guess there may be a deck out there somewhere that would want to reset a Polkelt ordering
Hotfix for Mindrender Illucia & Drakkari Enchanter
That’s supposed to happen. Every time a card gets shuffled into your deck, the entire deck gets reshuffled, whether it be your own cards or enemy bombs.
Nerfed Four Times, Still the Best Deck in the Game - What Is Going on With Demon Hunter?
Thankfully Odd DH can’t run Kayn or Altruis. Still busted though LOL
Nerfed Four Times, Still the Best Deck in the Game - What Is Going on With Demon Hunter?
I’m mostly parroting the VS podcast here but while I do agree that the cheaty swingy cards of many of the old classes are a problem, Demon Hunter is also too strong.
I too am not a fan of the broken mechanics that are keeping the other classes afloat. I don’t mind the Highlander stuff much, but the fact that Rogue and Priest can’t win without Galakrond is really problematic, and that Druid can’t win without perfectly drawing ramp into Mountseller is so annoying it makes me mad every time I play against Druid AND play as Druid. For Mage, Solarian is just restrained enough for me personally but Puzzle Box is just dumb.
But Demon Hunter is broken too, it just has its brokenness all across its cards instead of concentrating in a few major culprits. It’s just way too consistent in early game, removal, and late game. Umberwing, Battlefiend, Satyr Overseer, and the new Augmerchant package snowball the early game into a late game that is overflowing with options like Skull, Warglaives, Metamorphosis, Kayn, and Altruis. It’s too much. The fact that Warglaives and Altruis can deal face damage AND wide remove boards in one turn is insane, and Kayn’s bypassing of Taunts means that the best meaningful defense against DH is a crap ton of health gain, which is why Warrior is the best at countering DH.
So if you don’t want broken swings in the other classes, they need to make themselves as absurdly consistent as DH in order to compete. To be that consistent in the early game, for example, the other classes will need cards on the level as Baku in Rogue and Paladin, Tunnel Trogg/Totem Golem in Shaman, Mana Wyrm at Tempo Mage’s height in Boomsday, and Keleseth in Zoolock. And to be able to gain enough life to survive in the late game, classes will need cards on the level of Baku for Warrior, Branching Paths for Druid, Amethyst Spellstone/pre-nerf Dark Pact for Warlock, and Reno Jackson. Don’t get me wrong, I had fun with most of those cards when they were in Standard but they’re also oppressive and stifle other strategies from surfacing. We all got bone tired of Baku and Genn after a full year of dealing with Odd/Even decks because of how consistent they were, and I think I personally am getting to that point with Demon Hunter. I don’t think Demon Hunter is innocent and I don’t think I want to see all of the other classes buffed that way.
17.2.1 Balance Update Coming May 18 - 8 Card Nerfs (Priestess of Fury, Hanar, Bloodboil Brute) + 4 Buffs (Shaman & Paladin)
I’d say mainly the cost, but the Beast tutor is pretty damn good too. Gotta love the 4 7/7 Zixors
Egg / Tempo Warrior Deck List Guide – Ashes of Outland - May 2020
I’ve been having a decent amount of success with Grommash Hellscream as a finisher. It’s helped me get snake a few wins in the Priest matchup.
Standout Saviors of Uldum Decks From Day 1
When playing Quest Druid yesterday I took two suggestions from Vicious Syndicate:
1) Anti-Aggro tools in the form of Pounce and Claw help to keep 1-drops and 2-drops at bay in the early turns before you can use other removal and before quest completion.
2) Nomi finisher. Basically, run Nomi and Floop and copy them with Elise so you can play 4 Nomis. Admittedly I only needed/managed to play Nomi once and I only needed one in that match, so this may be more meme than meta, but I think it’ll probably them most competitively viable meme out there if for no other reason than that Control Warrior probably can’t deal with 4 Nomis.
Standout Saviors of Uldum Decks From Day 1
Honestly I think Control Warrior should run both Militia Commander and Restless Mummy. Admittedly, I haven’t played that deck yet because I’ve been trying new things, but there have been so many times when I played Town Crier and absolutely needed a 4-drop Rush minion (often better than Zilliax, especially when Lifesteal is useless) and having both increases the chances of getting it. Just a thought.

A lot of commenters seem to have concerns over the Overkill and BEEES!!! interactions. I did too, when I first read it. After testing, however, I can confirm that Stonekeep is right. Here’s a very slapdash video:

Okay, I checked. Stonekeep, you were right; my apologies.

Thanks for the review! I always love them.
Regarding BEES!: first, if you run it into a 1-health minion, you get three bees left over, like a “scalable IMPlosion”, to quote Trump on his review video. So it’s a very powerful effect, as you said.
Second, I’ve noticed that many people have already spoken up about the Overkill issue, and I’m inclined to agree with them. I was under the impression that Overkill only works when that minion is the one doing the physical attacking. You could be right, however. I haven’t tested this yet admittedly (I intend to after reading your argument), but if Overkill is an “on your turn only” trigger as you say, then it should trigger on Mass Hysteria even when another minion is running into it. Have you tested this yet? If so, I’m very curious about the results.
Again, thank you very much for the review. And I’m very much looking forward to playing Token Druid with BEES! no matter what the answer to this question is.
Pretty much what I wanted out of nerfs, looking forward to playing again once these are live. Gotta say though, these watch post nerfs are the bare minimum of what I would’ve wanted. Far Watch Post is a stupid card, I wouldn’t be mad at seeing that one just die. I’ll give it a chance tho.
Sword of the Fallen should be fine? I’m okay with Paladin being strong, especially since it tends to not be as popular as other classes anyway unless it’s completely broken, which I doubt it will be. I definitely don’t want to see it at 3 mana since that’ll kill the curve and I don’t want Paladin to be dead.
