Saviors of Uldum August 26 Nerf Patch - Dr. Boom, Mad Genius, Luna's Pocket Galaxy, Conjurer's Calling, Extra Arms and Barnes!
Well, not perfect, but still decent. Pretty happy with Mage and Priest nerfs.
Dr. Boom still around, just a bit weaker. Maybe they have to keep Control Warrior around to prevent face decks running away with the game. On the other hand they could have made better control cards for other classes and say good bye to Dr. 9.
Prismatic Lens/Tip the Scales untouched within the Barnes nerf patch, which is kind of funny.
Thief Rogue - #42 Legend (J_Alexander) - Saviors of Uldum
Hehe, No problem, have fun!
Thief Rogue - #42 Legend (J_Alexander) - Saviors of Uldum
J says Pilfer’s are not good, but they are good enough to give the deck the burgle card density it needs. Other upsides are Combo activation and that they are fast (compared to pick pocket). According to stats you should never! keep them in your opening hand. I don’t play the deck (don’t have quest + randomness + weak to aggro + nerfs waiting room) but watching him wreck warriors with it is the real fun for me ๐

Idk ๐ Is there a chance you are biased on Boom? I think you are underestimating his powerlevel. From 7 to 5 armor is almost nothing. He also doesn’t strike me as a card that would get hit by mana cost increase that hard. 2/3 % doesn’t do it on this card. And let’s be honest: If Blizz is gonna give us dust refund for him, they wanna make sure he doesn’t cause problems anymore. I think HoF would then be best for him, instead of taking Rush or Armor completely away, what are the most popular nerf suggestions.

“Prediction” for Warrior: Boom and Brawl to HoF.
Warrior needs unnerfed Boom, as its Hero card in Wild. And Plague of Wrath is a good card, just not as good as Brawl.
Every Mage/Paladin problem adressed in this article schouldn’t have made it into game in the first place (imo) . I stopped crafting such bs a while ago.
Priest nerfs are a nailbiter. Do you really want to gut Priest’s basic and classic further? Extra arms should be the card to begin with.
Also: 4 Weapon Rogue seems scary without a rock in the game.
And: I have a huge problem with the Created by Meta. The game is drowning in the randomness of cards, that didn’t even start in your deck. If you want some High roll potential, you should at least have to build your deck around it/use card slots for it.
New Competitive Format Called "Specialist"
That’s good news. I liked the Specialist’s Showdown tournament and I like the idea of simplified sideboarding in HS.
I hope they add this mode as an alternative to ladder into the game.
Deckbuiling, Skill and Experience will matter more and the fact that you can shore up for bad matchups reduces matchup-Rng to some extent.
Overall, a step in the right direction.
Upcoming Balance Update - Nerfs to Cold Blood, Flametongue Totem, Equality, Hunter's Mark and Lesser Emerald Spellstone
I could not agree more. Good post.
Now, you’re basically forced to play MR Hunter, if you want to stop Malygos/Velen Priest and all other 137 OTK decks in the game from going rampant. “I hunt alone!” I doubt it!
Sideeffect: Odd Paladin Tier 1+ entire year of the raven. Sure, Level Up was the problem. Nice balancing, nice variety…
Standout Rastakhan's Rumble Decks From Week 1
I’d say, for the sake of the game, just “warsong” Baku as soon as possible and keep an eye on Genn. I don’t know, what’s going on in upcoming expansions, so it might be a mistake to not touch Genn in advance. If they know it, they should do it on Genn, too.
Standout Rastakhan's Rumble Decks From Week 1
In my opinion, Rastakhan’s Rumble is a great expansion design-wise. It has a lot of interesting, usable cards. Playing around with the new stuff the first few days after release has been more fun than Witchwood and Boomsday together. There is also high potential in a decent amount of cards.
It’s just a shame that everything gets overshadowed by Odd Paladin. I’m on ladder, lose 2 in a row against that deck, quit the game. I start watching Deathstar playing Master’s Call Hunter at high legend and he has to face it 3/5 games. It’s so frustrating, that I even want to quit watching. He finally finds other opponents. From now on, the stream is enjoyable. Then he gets hit with another Odd Paladin army all over again. I stop watching.
I think Baku has to go. I can immagine that Odd Paladin won’t be a deck without Level Up, Vinecleaver, etc. But doesn’t that limit design space for another year? I somewhat agree with Stonekeep saying: Odd Warrior doesn’t do unfair things. On the other hand: Isn’t it problematic in a polarizing and unfun way to just shut down every aggressive/burst strategy just by clicking button. Isn’t stuff like Shield Slam and Reckless Flurry just too consistent in that deck. (Is it ok that druid ramps for card advantage, hiding behind taunts and armor, and we have to wait for rotation, although community asked for nerfs, btw)
2cents on Genn: The same lame card design as Baku, but doesn’t feel as unfair as Baku, at least to me. Genn is “only” Tempo advantage and not power advantage and you can’t play 1 Drops in Even decks. Nevertheless, Even Paladin already showed us, how a broken Even deck looks like.
Tldr: I don’t want to wait until Baku(/Genn) rotation. Druid core cards was enough staleness to shrink my enjoyment for the game to a minimum in 2018. Don’t let Baku/(Genn) be in the way of 2019.
Best Rastakhan's Rumble Decks - The Top Deck Lists for the New Expansion!
Can’t agree (so far). There is less OTK and Solitaire playstyle + less Baku/Genn apart from Odd Mage, which is basically new to the Meta. The Aggro Shaman looks promising for keeping greed in check. It’s been only 2 days, but I am slightly optimistic.
Captain Hooktusk
Charge is very hard to balance. It is not toxic, by itself. Actually, it is important for the game to exist.
Bloodscalp Strategist
This expansion continues with its less pack filler approach. I love that.
The card isn’t useless and you can toy with it in some meme/hipster decks, but won’t see competitive play. 2/5
Stampeding Roar
SPECTACULAR!
(It will be very hard to figure out another Top Tier Druid deck with that card, kappa)
5/5
Master's Call
Love the card! That being said, I can’t immagine to play this in Secret Hunter, DR Hunter, Midrange Hunter. A controllish playstyle would fit it more.
It’s a bit comparable to Mage’s Book of Specters. You can experiment a lot with it in the deckbuilder + playtesting.
Maybe in Spell Hunter together with Oondasta, King Krush, Devilsaur?
Or a Dire Frenzy build?
We’ll see, but I’ll rate it only 2/5, because I don’t think it will end up in the stronger Hunter decks.
Crowd Roaster
Could be used the turn after boardclear to swing the bord. I’m not too hyped, but it’s ok. Most importantly for now: It’s playable and has the Dragon tag.
3/5
4,5% already! Who would have thought?
Pls fix. No BG until back to SoloQ on principle.
