Earthen Might
Elemental Shaman till clinging on in the meta, but even without an elemental deck, this card is great, it improves the card pool for Hagatha and can be played on something such as Nightmare Amalgam. Love it, these are the spells shaman need.
Shudderwock
My favorite card in the entire set, so many possibilities, infinite situations, as a Shaman main I love this damn card and the first deck I’m going to make is a battlecry Shaman with both Hero Cards and this sexy legendary. 5/5.
Totem Cruncher
It’s actually a shame what they’re doing with shaman. They introduce a new deck archetype for it but only give small snippets of that Archetype every expansion. Obviously there are exceptions like Evolve Shaman and Elemental Shaman, but apart from those, we kinda just get half arsed decks like Freeze Shaman. However having said that, I actually really like this card, I think it would work well in a Genn Greymane deck where you will be pushing out totems at a much faster rate. What I’m worried about is Shaman having to rely on taunts from the Classic deck or the pool of neutral cards to protect the totems. Because once Thing From Below rotates out, what early game taunts does Shaman have left? Drakarri Defender? Voodoo Hexer? I fear that dark days are upon us for us Shaman Mains. Evolve Shaman will take a massive hit after Evolve is rotated out. Let’s hope for either really good spells or really good elementals now.
Silver Sword
It’s a filler card. What do I want Blizzard to do? I want them to make cards that I will actually play, it doesn’t have to be competitive, it can just be fun, there’s nothing really fun about this card, the recently released new mage card that brings back old legends will never be used on ladder, but I’ll probably stlll use it in alot of my mage decks. But yeah, there’s no defending this weapon. It won’t see play at all. If I had to improve it, I would bring it down to 5 mana, make the card text into a battlecry instead with the stipulation that all the cards in the deck have to be odd. Following the Baku Odd Pally that many people have already began theorycrafting.
Silver Sword
You bring this out at turn 8….. the potential value you seek takes you well into fatigue, where it’s more than likely you only have one minion on the board per turn. If your opponent can’t defend that one minion anyway, then the extra damage just wins you the game faster, doesn’t change the outcome at all.
The mana cost is too high for this to be even remotely playable.
Silver Sword
Also, just unlike Rallying Blade, this weapon requires an action to be done before it activates, so if you get frozen, you won’t get the buff. In a meta where DK Jaina Elemage is very strong, that’s pretty bad. Also, as I said earlier, this would work in some form of control buff Pally, but Getaway Kodo is gone, Don HanCho is gone, GrimeStreet Enforcer and Smuggler are both gone. Buff Pally is dead, and this weapon certainly has no place in Dragon Pally.
Silver Sword
What the hell is this trash? In late game, +1/+1 won’t make much difference to massive minions that will most likely be on that board at that time. Obviously this is a replacement of Rallying Blade, but it’s just awful. 8 Mana for a 3/4 weapon is disgusting, but let’s say that you have lots of small minions on the board, that’s about as perfect as the situation can get for this weapon, the additional attack could admittedly, win you the game. or at least increase the value of the trades made in some form of Control Paladin. But it’s 8 F***ing mana, so it’s unlikely your opponent hasn’t dealt with the smaller minions to by that turn, if he hasn’t, the case stands that you’ve probably already won the game. But if you’re playing massive minions with massive attack and health, what the hell is +1/+1 gonna do?
This card is too slow for too little value for the late game, this will never see play, not even in decks like Buff Pally, 1/5.
Pick Pocket
But it just doesn’t have a place in any deck. Miracle Rogue is the only one I could think of, but even in that, 2 Mana is alot and the chances of getting a card that you don’t need is very high, considering that a decent number of the cards revealed so far are mediocre at best. Also, after Coldlight Oracle rotates out, Rogue will have to rely on cards such as sprint, but won’t be able to shadowstep it back and cast again for free. But even with that, there are cards that are better suited to Rogue needs than this one. For example Roll The Bones has the chance of drawing more than 1 card for 2 mana, which is already better value than Pick Pocket + The fact that the card you draw will be from your deck and so it will be more useful to you than anything you can steal from your opponent. In conclusion, it’s definitely a card that can make games fun due to RNG, but otherwise, it really won’t make its way onto Ladder.
Mistwraith
Okay, so, this card + the other new one, Pick Pocket. 10 mana combo, Mistwraith + 3 Pickpockets, 6/8 + ‘Draw’ 3 cards. This kinda sucks when put into context with something like a Kazakus 10 Mana Potion where you could potentially get an 8/8 Demon, Draw 3 Cards and gain one more spell on the side of that. Obviously the drawback of Kazakus is the stipulation of having only 1 of each card in your deck. And so the lack of that drawback may be worth the loss of the extra sell and the 2 Atk on the MistWraith. In that context, Mistwraith isn’t that bad. But otherwise, I feel it will just be a repeat of Unbound Elemental, thoughts?
Pick Pocket
Sooooo, it’s a swashburgler that costs one more mana and has no board presence (Because it’s a spell). The upside is of course Echo which would be ideal in a Miracle Rogue Deck, but otherwise, it won’t see play in my opinion. If Swash wasn’t rotating out then I doubt this card would have been used at all. Some promise because of the echo though, 2/5 for me, what do you think?
Toki, Time-Tinker
This is why we were given 20 extra packs after pre-order, because the legendary pool is a cesspool of s—.
Spellshifter
Obviously that’s not the only point of expansions, having a constant rotation of cards means you also don’t play the same boring OP deck that can’t be beaten.
Spellshifter
That’s pretty much the point of most expansions sadly. Underpower the f2p stuff so that there are more sales on card packs. C’thun sorted that out last year (Though C’thun decks didn’t really see much play after its initial hype died down) So maybe we’ll get something similar to that for the more casual players.
Dollmaster Dorian
Couldn’t have put it better, hopefully Priest will gain some card draw in this expansion or perhaps the up and coming ones, but with or without the card draw, I think it would be one hell of a fun deck to play.
Dollmaster Dorian
Nice Card, majority of the neutral cards would be massive value when combo’d with Lady In White. What do y’all think? Priest Lady In White deck on its way?
Rat Trap
Sorry, but as I said, Druids are taking a hit in this expansion, I wasn’t really talking about KotFT, it’s true we’ve only seen only around half of the cards for Druid, but considering Witching Hour is the only good one so far (Apart from Gloom Stag in a Baku deck) so I doubt there will be much hope of something game changing for the class getting released.
While many of the Priest cards that made the class playable are rotating out, viable priest decks are still being theorycrafted and I’m willing to bet that even after the removal of cards like Raza and Drakonid Operative, there will still be an effective way to play Priest
Hunter is obviously being taken in a different direction, against the traditional face tactic. But aside from that, Hunter is being given the best cards thus far (In my opinion at least) obviously we have yet to see half the expansion as you said. But I think it’s safe to say that Hunter (If not priest) is definitely going to be powerful when this expansion releases and Druid, after the removal of Jade along with the abhorrent cards that we’ve seen so far, will take a dive.
Holy Water
Right? But tbh that should be how it is after the embarrassment of mediocre cards shaman has received in the past few expansions, namely Freeze Shaman
This goes in a Lady In White Deck, just depends on whether that will be a viable archetype or not. ALSO WHY THE HELL IS IT NOT A MECH?
