Big Changes To "Battle Pass" Progression System Announced - ~20% Lower XP Requirements For Levels 1-50, Quest Changes, One-Time Bonus Reward, Adjustments to Rewards Track
Still, you have to own these cards then ๐
I think part of the popularity of aggro DH is due to its cheapness.
Personally, I just don’t have the dust to craft something close to control / ETC combo warrior. I lack 5000 dust + galakrond adventure for risky skipper.
Point being that this games’ cost also influences the meta.

I think it’s connected to the uncertainty on the mini-expansion. For myself, I will keep all this extra (DMF packs as well) until the mini-expansion. I fear it will not be enough though.
No One Is Prepared: How Demon Hunter Keeps Dominating the Meta
Very good analysis. You make a good point: is (re)draw part of the class’ core? I don’t think so.
I like playing (soul) demon hunter too, but I would rather have the other classes in the meta as well. Though apart from nerfing (cfr article), I think they should also consider buffing, especially mage & druid.

I have played some games, but it seems to lack card draw?
I know hunter doesn’t have much, but only having ursatron makes it quite hard..
Tavern Brawl - Shake, Deathrattle and Roll!
Good point, I expect them to take away the reward in the near future. No more xp from quests in tavern brawl, so why should they give any reward?
I only play it once a week mostly, I don’t know how much more it is played by other players though. When they remove the reward, I expect it to die out.
Control warrior (89% wr d4-legend)
Cool idea, though I am surprised this deck works out. As demon hunter player, running into etc otk warriors is a lot of trouble because of their armor, but you don’t run this package. Nor do I see much card draw, but probably you don’t need as much of it.
Do you have like a replay of how your game goes ? I would be very interested.

I tried deathrattle hunter in standard, it was too slow for the meta. I like your idea of running trueaim crescent though, I didn’t try it in my list. Will try this one in wild when I have a bit of dust left.
My Take On The New Progression System / Battle Pass - How Bad it Really Is, How To Fix It + A Few Words About Dev / Streamer Harassment
Agreed!
Though people might complain about reverse robin hood effects, because especially the collection achievements are designed for whales.

Part of the problem is that Blizzard raised expectations prior, which seemed like to solve what we are all talking about. Then they released something (at least) unclear, violating trust with the community.
I like the ideas of tying extra rewards to dailies/weeklies and reducing crafting cost. Additionally, re-introducing 10g/3 wins (for any mode) would make roping less interesting.

Great guide. Given the complexity, I’m not surprised it is more popular in legend.
To counter it, I think it’s best to use early minion pressure. In later stages, you want to limit the number/health of minions.
As DH specifically, you can keep your consume magic for rattlegore or armorsmith. Be wary of using blade dance when risky skipper+armorsmith+mercenary is out, blade dance kills minions in a certain order. Il’gynoth really helps to finish, just save up for the combo and prepare it with equipping your aldrachi blades.
DemonLock (Theory)
I was totally smashed in the face as DH with such a deck yesterday. Now at D3 though. So possibly encountering you.

Any luck with this deck? I am lacking a few cards, but I love the “demon” focus of it.
Hearthstone Duels - All Available Heroes, Hero Powers & Signature Treasures! - Season 1 (Wizard Duels)
Actually, a lot of decks use a lot of Scholomance cards. But it’s true that you might want/need to craft some extra cards. But it should be limited. Also see https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/best-duels-starter-decks-for-all-classes/
Ramp Druid - Leta - Darkmoon Faire
Played against someone with a similar deck yesterday. His game went like:
1. pass
2. coin + wild growth
3. (4 mana crystals) + lightning bloom x 2 –> cenarion ward + anubisath defender + strongman
I was sweating like a horse after this ๐
Hearthstone Progression System Guide - How to Earn XP, Rewards Track Leveling Up, Is Tavern Pass Worth It? (Patch 19.2 Update)
I wasn’t sure, hence the question mark at the end of my comment.
Sucks that they put a resitriction on it. For me. it would have tipped the scales for buying it.

The golden Silas Darkmoon can be disenchanted, so if you don’t care about the golden version, this is equivalent to a legendary card of choice ?
Grand Totem Eys'or
Finally, some love for Shaman. Though the reach of the card really depends on how early in the game you draw it (if you even draw it)
It seems the nerfs don’t look to hit aggro dh that hard (?, never played that deck a lot).
Why?
– Polkelt on 4 gave hand of gul’dan on turn 5, which is then only playable as outcast with coin — so polkelt to 5 does not matter that much. Card still has quite good stats.
– Voracious reader to 3 makes it harder to refill, but aggro dh has plenty of alternative draw anyway
– Dreadlord’s bite is just 2 damage less.
– aggro dh wil be kept less in check by soul dh, it’s aoe tools are all nerfed
– Blade flurry to 3 means it will hopefully have to trade with its board more often though. However, the mana cost mainly means that it can do a decent blade flurry less early in the game (still, on turn 4, a blade flurry of 4 damage + 4 face is possible, instead of 6 + 6. 6+6 is still possible with coin.)
Probably they will switch to aldrahi warblades from dreadlord’s bite, and outlast other aggro decks with it.
