Dragoncaller Alanna
Yeah Elementals would have fit the mage theme much better and they could have compensated by making the elementals 4/4’s or something, but honestly I think they could have made them 5/5’s and it still wouldn’t have been broken with all the strong aoe floating around,
Dragoncaller Alanna
It seems like they are pushing a “big spell” mage, this card is very slow and has no immediate impact so i dont know if it will be good enough to make that archetype competitive. However it can set up lethal on board and is a good follow up to a doomsayer plus blizzard turn. With all the weapon hate that is likely to show up this could be a good replacement for medivh in slow controll mages, art is sick
Grand Archivist
Im surprised nobody has brought up call of the wild, call of the wild was op on turn 8 and now it comes with an extra 4/7 body
Marin the Fox
Otk deck created. Turn 8 Marin turn 9 potion of madness the chest divine spirit, divine spirit, inner fire attack for 32 damage. If there are taunts in play you do the combo on turn ten instead and also cast a mass dispel (you could still do the combo with mass dispell on nine if you play a radiant elemental). Also you could potentially do 64 damage if you get a third divine spirit from shadow visions. Only counter to this otk is skulking geist or your oponent killing the chest themselves giving you a treasure
Lightfused Stegodon
Better in wild then standard because of Muster for battle curve synergy, need more silver hand synergy cards in standard for it to be playable
Living Mana
Yeah i just read a post about that my bad, still an ok card but without the innervate synergy i thought it had alot less good. Definitely playable in aggro druid at least if its a thing
Living Mana
definitely not as bad as people think, first if you couple it with innervate you basically turn your innervate into a 0 mana double wild growth which is insane (when the minions die you get the innervated crystals back as real crystals). Second yeah vanish and mass dispel counter it but who the heck runs either of those in any competitive deck… no one they are way to slow against any other deck. the only counter to it that sees play is devolve which is only available to one class and is only used as a one of in most competitive decks if it is used at all
Tol'vir Stoneshaper
Turn 3 Tar Creeper, Turn 4 this guy, Turn 5 Burgly Bully, Turn 6 Fire Elemental, Turn 7 Stone Sentinel, Turn 8 the new shaman legendary Primal Lord and use a Burgly Bully coin to play Firefly, Turn 9 neutral elemental legendary as a 5/15 taunt. OP curvstone Shaman here we come
E. Malone's Journal - Week Three - Two New Cards Revealed!
I think the black and white snap shot at the end of this journal and in the other journals might be new card art
Pyros
I think that the Mage quest card will revolve around elementals and if that quest card is good this might be good too who knows
Verdant Longneck
Good new target for Menagerie Warden, I don’t think the adapt mechanic will be op but it will be flexible and flexibility is something druid likes. It reminds me a lot of the Druid “choose one” effect except you get three random options.
Devolve
I don’t think this card is going to be as good as people are saying for a few reasons
– It is not an all out counter for rag or Tirion. It does not silence them it transforms them , potentially into an Archmage or a Baron Geddon which is a new threat to deal with. Best case scenario you transform them into an Ancient of Lore and in that case your better off using Tinkmaster Overspark.
– It does not act as an aoe removal for large boards. This card doesn’t actually destroy anything it just creates a board of slightly smaller minions which aggro decks won’t really mind at all. sure you can follow it up with a lightning storm but that costs two cards, five mana and you overload for two. Plus even then you might not clear the whole board
– There are a handful of minions that this is actually ineffective or bad against including Thing from Below, Azure Drake, Arcane Giant, Yogg, Alexstraza, Ysera, mire keeper and many other battle cry minions
– While it does counter buffed grimy goons cards you can play around it like any aoe spell by not overextending and playing all your buffed cards at once
Jade Blossom
I am going to guess that the Jade Golem has stealth and that The Jade Lotus mechanic will also revolve around stealth minions. If this is the case than the Rogue legendary may also become more relevant
Toxic Sewer Ooze
Honestly I don’t see why everyone is hating on this, I am not saying its a great card but it has solid stats for the cost and a positive effect. Plus it is not bad at all in Arena. Every card in the expansion doesn’t have to be meta defining
Finja, the Flying Star
This might sound crazy but maybe this card makes the Everyfin is Awesome Shaman deck semi playable. I mean imagine this:
Turn 5 Finja
Turn 6 Murloc Warleader, attack with buffed Finja and kill a minion summoning two more murlocs from your deck, play a couple one cost murlocs from your hand, play everfin is awesome and buff all murlocks for a huge board
I think this is suppose to be a new fairer version of fiery war axe, that only works for control decks and cant be exploited by aggro, reading this card I can’t help but wish they just changed fiery war axes text to “can’t attack heroes”.
With all the new available armor gain warrior received this year I think this is very viable in control warrior but that deck wont make a comeback until after rotation and the retirement of the jade mechanic from standard.
